Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 139: Chapter 124: Black Winter

The battlefield is not a chess game. In fact, as Gao Gong made a move, the Crimson Empress also took action.

Lanterns appeared above an Electronic City, and under the illumination of the lights, the ’mimic environment’ of the Electronic City quickly collapsed.

The Crimson Empress slowly stepped in and appeared in front of a ’Gun Beast,’ which was an Electric Reindeer with a collar around its neck.

The Crimson Empress’s A-level aura suppressed it into complete stillness. Then she gently extended her hand and snapped off the collar.

The ’Central Nervous System Direct Control Circle’ was split in two, sizzling as a red neural bundle entwined around the ’collar.’ She quickly figured out its capabilities.

Without the ’collar,’ the Electric Reindeer became visibly agitated, and the two machine guns on its back suddenly mounted, firing frantically at the nearby Crimson Empress.

However, the bullets vanished without a trace.

The speed at which the Crimson Empress devoured bullets far surpassed its firing speed.

The Empress disdainfully waved her hand, and in the next moment, the terrifying flesh carpet engulfed it.

Having figured out the principle of the ’collar,’ she was rather unimpressed.

The ’collar’ was applicable to Radiation Beasts with a radiation value of less than 10,000, which means below C-level.

The Cable Tribe, with their unique beast taming skills, could raise the taming level by one grade to reach C-level, but nothing beyond that.

She then floated to the Sensory Device, making a grabbing motion in the air. The outer Iron Hide began to tear, revealing the electronic components inside.

To her slight surprise, the surface of the electronic components was wrapped in a thin layer of flesh membrane, which absorbed radiation power and converted it into pure electricity, like a special filtering net.

The Crimson Empress slightly frowned, extending her palm, forming a blood mist to envelop it.

From this layer of flesh membrane, she sensed the power of the Duke of Fission... and her own power.

This made the Crimson Empress exceptionally angry.

In the next moment, one lantern after another rose from Scavenger City, each floating towards an Electronic City.

Under the glow of the lanterns, the ’illusions’ created by the Electronic City quickly dissipated.

And far away, Huang Wen’s voice came from the electronic screen.

”Plan One enters dormant phase, Plan Two commences.”

In the next moment, all the Electronic Cities began to shut down one by one.

At the same time, twenty Security Corps flying devices began entering their flight paths. As the noses tilted up, the bodies ascended, and landing gear retracted, they quickly appeared in the high sky.

However, this time, the flying devices did not engage with those flying beasts but opened the cabins. Soon, countless drones were deployed, like a migrating flock of birds, flying in multiple directions.

And the ’Special Effects Generators’ and ’Monster-Attracting Divine Artifacts’ bound to the drone system began to activate.

In an instant, countless illusions manifested. Although not as realistic as the ’Electronic City,’ the agitation it caused among the monsters was genuine.

The Crimson Empress’s expression darkened; the lanterns could not keep up with the drones.

More importantly, even if one was destroyed, there were countless ’duplicates’ of the drone that were not afraid of being hit. If you wasted time here, you would be playing right into the opponent’s calculations.

Moreover, the same aura was felt on those drones.

There was a traitor in the house!

If the Crimson Empress could speak, she would certainly express extreme regret with this sentiment.

A perfectly good Radiation Beast, how did it end up joining the human side?

What bothered her even more was that within a few hours, the fallen B-level Radiation Beasts had nearly reached double digits.

Is this the opponent’s objective?

The Crimson Empress rose into the air, her mouth opened, countless blood strands stretched as her mouth widened.

Amid the Beast Tide, all B-level Radiation Beasts raised their heads.

In the next moment, the giant beasts began converging towards Automobile City. Clearly, they intended to concentrate their advanced combat strength in one spot to eliminate the opponent’s key stronghold first.

High above, Gao Gong watched this scene calmly and, after a moment of silence, said:

”Arrange for the personnel’s evacuation.”

”Guests are coming, and there may be more than one wave.”

The intelligence of B-level giants is not inferior to that of humans. They deliberately placed the tough-skinned Vomiting Giant and the Tree Root Monster at the front.

Unexpectedly, the surrounding war bunkers showed no signs of attacking.

As expected, as they advanced, numerous explosions began to sound consecutively.

The enemy had buried a large number of booby-traps underground.

When combating the Beast Tide, booby-traps were far more useful than flying devices because flying devices, once airborne, could easily lose contact.

Once a booby-trap bears enough weight, it is guaranteed to explode.

These booby-traps may not kill the tough-skinned B-level Radiation Beasts, but they can certainly delay their forward progression.

In the ongoing explosions, the B-level Radiation Beasts received no retreat orders. Pressured by the will of the Beast Tide, they could only keep advancing, and several had soon lost more than half of their blood volume.

The Crimson Empress naturally did not intend for them to keep sacrificing themselves. In fact, she was cooperating with another special military operation.

...

Zhao Mechanism stealthily walked into a concealed passage, activated the battlefield communicator, and marked a newly-established Biological Factory.

He marked a total of eight Biological Factories, all newly established.

”Well done, Manager Zhao,” came Geville’s voice in praise from the other side of the communicator.

”You need to hurry. According to the information I received, they are already arranging to transfer people.”

”Don’t worry. This time, the team leading consists of eight Knights, and they will destroy everything.”

Not only was it shocking to destroy everything, but when the ’Radiation Annihilation Agent’ story came from the inside source, not only was the Great Knight Banner amazed, but the Round Table Conference called a special one over it.

The ’insecticide’ that could deal with low-level Radiation Beasts might naturally deal with high-level Radiation Beasts.

The land species can be dealt with, naturally, so can the marine species.

This calculation shows that the other side might not only disrupt the impending ’Hydra Battle’, but even the future Holy War could be severely affected.

The Great Knight issued a death order, apart from destroying all the raw materials of this ’poison’, they must acquire its formula.

Soon, Zhao Mechanism heard intense gunfire, one artificial soldier after another entered from the obviously reinforced passage, disregarding casualties.

A tall mechanical creature soon appeared, nearly three meters high, not only half-human, half-machine, but also half-human, half-horse, with four electronic eyes simultaneously glowing red, staring at the direction where he hid.

”Come out.”

”Honorable Centaur Knight Hai Li, I—”

”Enough with the nonsense, lead the way,” Hai Li lifted his mechanical chin arrogantly, speaking coldly.

”Yes.”

Under someone else’s roof...

Zhao Mechanism sighed inwardly and started to lead the way.

”Why are there no living people?” Hai Li suddenly asked.

”Because according to the new security protocols, once an attack like the last one occurs, personnel must evacuate immediately.”

”Foolish kindness,” Hai Li said disdainfully.

Zhao Mechanism cautiously replied, ”I’ve noted the evacuation route of those people, see?”

”Swelling cruelty,” the Centaur Knight took the documents handed over, glancing at him, ”It seems you are well-suited to survive within the Knight Order.”

Zhao Mechanism forced a smile, but inwardly cursed, what kind of lunatics are these?

Soon, after passing through a series of mechanical gates, they arrived at the storage location of the ’Radiation Annihilation Agent’.

Rows of test tubes were stored in a sterile room, inside the tubes was a pitch-black potion.

Hai Li indicated slightly, and soon artificial soldiers pried open the door of the sterile room and took out a test tube.

...

On the other side, a group of experiment personnel was orderly evacuating. Due to increased defensive power, they had enough time to evacuate.

Someone even suggested taking some materials as backups.

This was sternly refused by Professor Han.

Halfway through, the bio-fusioner Salina quickly returned from scouting ahead, holding a large pack of gas masks and protective suits.

Professor Han silently accepted a set and put it on directly.

”Professor, this is?” a member of the Biological Mutation Association asked in astonishment.

”Gas mask.”

”Uh, I know this is a gas mask, but, why do we need to wear it?”

”Those wishing to die can leave it off.”

The others looked to Salina, this female bio-fusioner patiently explained, ”Every safe house in the Oasis has a sealing mechanism, to prevent radiation beasts with special abilities from finding the door.”

”Once sealed, the air won’t circulate, we can survive using an oxygen breathing device, for a duration of three days.”

”Usually, after three days, the beasts outside will leave, and we can safely exit.”

”But, why do we need to bring gas masks?” another person asked dumbfoundedly, isn’t it enough to just use an oxygen mask?

Now, it was Salina’s turn to be puzzled.

”Aren’t you always developing that dangerous neurotoxic gas ’Black Winter’?”

”If that thing explodes, are you not afraid?”

”Neurotoxic gas!? Haven’t we always been researching that radiation annihi—”

Seeing the few quickly equipping lab chiefs, the remaining researchers’ expressions changed, without a word, they rushed towards the remaining protective suits.

Good heavens! We thought you big shots were just taking us to the skies, who knew you were taking us to the Western Paradise!

...

As the Centaur Knight pulled open the stopper of the test tube, a toxic gas mass rushed out, the next moment, it was as if the air was instantly sucked away, replaced by all kinds of illusions, the largest illusion being that the entire world started melting.

”No, no—”

”Help, help!”

”I don’t want to die, I don’t want to die.”

The emotion-machined artificial soldiers seemed to regain their human emotions.

A glass tube began to melt, the remaining glass tubes quickly started to melt too.

Besides this one biological factory, the other seven biological factories also produced chain reactions.

Level 5 Biological Blueprint [Black Winter]

In the blueprint system, Level 5, has reached the upper limit of a Level 1 Civilization, or a planet-level civilization.

Once a biochemical weapon of this level is released, it can rival historic-level natural disasters.

Zhao Mechanism seemed to have stepped into an ’Immortal Realm’, in this Immortal Realm, he gained power, wealth, and everyone’s respect and worship.

He stood above ten thousand people.

Du Zhaodi stood not far away, smiling at him.

Then he extended his palm, which was a hand rotting to flesh and white bone.

Zhao Mechanism looked down in horror, finding himself rotting all over.

Amidst the rotting flesh, frost slowly condensed.
