Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 103: Chapter 93: Slaughter Warrior

Gao Gong had barely entered when dozens of troop carriers rushed in, unloading about a thousand armed soldiers.

This is the maximum force the Security Corps can muster at the moment.

In addition, there are eight ’Titan Type Four’ giant armored vehicles, their dark barrels pointed directly at the mechanical bio-beasts not far away.

But they haven’t fired.

The reason is simple; those same barrels are also pointed at them.

Towering at two stories high, covered in thick armor, with mechanical trunks akin to gun barrels, these six large Gun Beasts are a subspecies of Boiler Elephant known as Air Cannon Elephant.

Their shells come in two types: air cannon shells and pressure water shells.

The power of air cannon shells at short distances is by no means inferior to ordinary shells, while the second stomach of the Air Cannon Elephant contains a large amount of corrosive liquid, making the water cannon extremely metal-corrosive and even more dangerous.

Dozens of Jet Hunting Leopards bared their teeth, the propulsion devices on their knees sizzling as if ready to spring into action at any moment.

Above, scores of Flashing Sparrows were hovering, each with four or five luminous organs that can emit intense light simultaneously, as bright as flash grenades.

Many Mechanical Hunters received the news and also arrived, though holding firearms in hand, they seemed disinterested in fighting.

They could tell these mechanical bio-beasts were controlled by someone, not quite allies, but not entirely enemies either.

”D-level Electric Reindeer, D-level Flashing Sparrow, C-level Jet Hunting Leopard, C-level Unicorn Rhino, C+ Air Cannon Elephant, boy, they’re all troublemakers.”

Beasts at the same level are divided into two types: easy to deal with and troublesome, the latter being nicknamed ’troublemakers.’

And these mechanical beasts, without a doubt, are all ’troublemakers,’ commonly known as Elite Monsters.

”Electric Reindeer and Flashing Sparrows are rare half-mechanical half-energy creatures, Jet Hunting Leopards are hunters among mechanical beasts of the same level, Unicorn Rhinos and Air Cannon Elephants are armored beasts, comparable to heavy armored weapons.”

”400 against 1000, if a fight breaks out, the Security Corps definitely won’t win!”

Crawler also appeared on the outskirts, clearly observing that these mechanical beasts showed signs of training, scattered to avoid simultaneous shelling, even securing several highlands.

Within the highlands, there seemed to be other Gun Beasts, or rather, fully automated weapons.

This is completely different from a chaotic Beast Tide.

”Infantry-armor coordination?” A camo-clad Mechanical Hunter paused and suddenly uttered a term.

It was clear that the other side came with the intent to truly fight. Humans may lie, but mechanical beasts won’t. They fiercely eyed the perimeter soldiers, their biological gun barrels slowly rotating, seemingly awaiting a command...

Several commanders of the Security Corps were also in a dilemma, usually the type to bully the weak and fear the strong, boosting soldiers with adrenaline from the back, skilled at deception. If they had to command in a real battle...

Damn it, why hasn’t Demon Mountain General’s elite troops returned yet!

Finally, a new message emerged from the underground command center: hold positions and await the negotiators.

Everyone was relieved!

...

Meanwhile, Gao Gong, after gathering enough biological structures, did not idle.

He had racked up over a hundred thousand experience points on the battlefield, along with some miscellaneous rewards he hadn’t had the chance to review.

After thinking for a bit, he decided to draw those rewards first.

Typically, only tasks above Difficult level offer lottery opportunities, and these draws often yield some minor gems.

[Would you like to participate in the lottery?]

Gao Gong clicked yes.

The system panel immediately displayed a colorful spinning wheel, rapidly turning.

[Lottery complete, you have received the universal bestseller, ”Star System Hitchhiking Guide”]

”Damn, could my luck be any worse?”

Gao Gong’s face was covered in black lines; a popular science book was the most useless type of reward.

What’s more, he had read ”Star System Hitchhiking Guide” in his previous lifetime. The author was a spiritual life form fond of interstellar travel, frequently touring different star systems in giant structure-level star series vehicles, with the book’s content featuring a series of travel chronicles akin to a travel diary.

The most intriguing part was the encounters with various aliens during the travels, like silicon-based life forms resembling liquid robots, stallion-type handsome plant beings seeding across planets, spore aliens only able to survive in energy liquid having to be transported, source code life forms who enjoy stowing away, sky giant beasts akin to ”interstellar gas stations,” and clones used by five people on one ID.

Overall, these various aliens, along with their peculiar life forms and living habits, are a selling point of the book.

This book, as an alien popular science publication, sells quite well across all major civilizations.

Somewhat frustrated, he opened another reward—the gifted ’biological blueprint.’

[You have acquired a Level 5 Biological Transformation Blueprint: ”Umbrella Virus”]

”Oh, I actually got this thing.”

This ’Umbrella Virus’ isn’t the type that turns you into a zombie, but rather is made by extracting antigens from advanced life forms to create drugs that grant its immune capabilities.

Moreover, the Level 5 blueprint already falls under Level 2 Civilization Technology, naturally encompassing B-level life forms for extraction.

”Isn’t this fortuitous.”

Gao Gong murmured, staring at two corpses.

Apart from the book and blueprint, there were also specialization points rewarded for killing a B-level Radiation Beast.

These are rare existences for raising skill caps, only produced when soloing high-level monsters.

Gao Gong almost without hesitation added them to ’Night Warrior.’

[You have upgraded Night Warrior to lv10]

[Night Warrior has been enhanced to lv10max, entering skill advancement state. Please choose your elite skill — Moon Dancer, Slaughter Warrior, Three-blade Style]

Moon Dancer remains on an assassin path, using drugs, illusion techniques, and special tools that cause death without knowing the cause, only seeing a full moon before dying.

The Slaughter Warrior sped fiercely down the road of bloody violence, even more powerful and direct than the Night Warrior.

As for the Three-blade Style, no need to mention. Ever seen the Green Algae Head Knight? It follows the path of multiple weapon handling.

[You have selected the Elite Skill: Slaughter Warrior]

[You upgraded Slaughter Warrior to lv2]

[You upgraded Slaughter Warrior to lv3]

...

[You upgraded Slaughter Warrior to lv10max]

Gao Gong maxed out this skill in one go, spending 100,000 experience points, about double the cost of an advanced skill.

Upgrading an Elite to an Expert requires an even more outrageous amount of experience, 500,000.

To advance from Expert to Master requires 1,000,000, maybe even more.

However, upon reaching Master level, you automatically receive a ’Master’s Certificate (Level 1)’, symbolizing that you have surpassed 99.99% of your peers in a certain skill.

This is a good thing that can increase your civilization’s prestige.

Higher-level ’Master’s Certificates’ can even make you a VIP in various planet civilizations. For example, a certain ’Master of the Force’ was both fleeing and thriving simultaneously.

After upgrading to full level, the Slaughter Warrior skill adds three additional states.

’Killing Intent’, ’Slaughter Power’, ’Bright Mirror Stilled Water’

Among them, ’Killing Intent’, also known as ’Long-distance Killing Skill’, ’Vital Point Attack Skill’, is an advanced Aura Operation Technique that can make an enemy’s brain automatically fall into a Death Illusion. However, it is a solo skill, capable of dealing with only one person at a time.

Combining it with ’Radiation Field Mastery’, there’s no need to worry about getting sneaked upon anymore.

Slaughter Power is an upgraded version of ’Blood Drinking’, which can stack 15 layers of Attack Power and also increase primary attributes.

Slaughter Power: When using a weapon to inflict damage on an enemy, increase Attack Power by 8% (up to fifteen stacks). Each stack randomly increases one attribute point.

In Gao Gong’s current state, focusing all points on one attribute can directly double it.

As for the description of ’Bright Mirror Stilled Water’, it has no attribute bonus, only a single sentence.

The mind and body are clear like a mirror, responding to all things, leaving nothing from the past.

’Is it a Mystical State.’

Gao Gong rubbed his chin. The higher the skill level, the higher the probability of obtaining a Mystical State, and some advanced skills are inherently mystical skills.

Mystical States aren’t necessarily bad, and some can be quite OP once developed.

However, if not used well, it’s a real pain.

Luckily, ’Bright Mirror Stilled Water’ doesn’t belong to the ’Decryption Type’.

In fact, most close combat techniques gain ’Bright Mirror Stilled Water’ at advanced levels.

It has a more straightforward name.

’One Hundred Percent Unarmed Disarmament’

”Hey, slash me,” Gao Gong called out to the pink-haired little delinquent not far away.

Matsushima Keiko picked up the knife without a word and charged.

As a boss character, Matsushima Keiko still had a lot of respect for Gao Gong, considering his decathlon skills.

After Gao Gong’s tuning, her Knife Holder became noticeably more useful.

However, regarding other matters, Matsushima Keiko still held some resentment towards him.

Wasn’t I promised an E? Why did it become a D? What? Large breasts affect battle? I don’t believe it!

In Matsushima Keiko’s prosthetic eye, the percentage of success for slashing at various parts of Gao Gong’s body—head, torso, limbs—suddenly increased significantly.

Other percentages indicate the probability of the target dodging in each direction.

This closest fit for high-tech spirit combat, Matsushima Keiko never had much regard for techniques requiring endless years of practice.

The Intelligent Tachi vanished as this pint-sized pink-haired girl charged forward.

Hidden Iaijutsu?

Gao Gong chuckled and calmly closed his eyes.

In the next moment, Matsushima Keiko appeared on Gao Gong’s right side. Due to reinforcement, her two short legs nearly split in a wide stance.

The veins on her calves bulged prominently.

Somehow, she had switched from holding the blade in her right hand to her left.

With intelligent weapons guiding the force automatically, handedness made no difference.

The blade flashed instantly toward Gao Gong’s neck, hidden by her body.

This Japanese delinquent really had a ruthless hand, executing an Iaijutsu with a sound burst.

If Gao Gong did nothing, he would most certainly have been cut down on the spot.

Yet, in Gao Gong’s heart, it felt like a single drop of water fell into a serene lake.

Bright Mirror Stilled Water, reflecting all without cloud, reacts to all things... like the sky embracing all, like the earth bearing all.

Sometime later, Gao Gong’s fingers appeared in front of the blade, pressing lightly, making a sound like a steel mill cutting through steel. After the muffled sound, the Sound Burst Slash was caught between his two fingers.

The blade between his fingers showed a faint white mark.
