Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 122: Chapter 109: Slaughter Hunter (Conclusion)

Soon, all the logistics staff were mobilized.

Extracting the cells of the ’Desert Worm’ and formulating the corresponding biological blending liquid is not too difficult.

The key is that the demand for the cell blending liquid is too large.

The E-level radiation standard value is 100 points, the C-level is 10,000 points, and the B-level is 100,000 points.

The cells inside Gao Gong may not have reached B-level, but at the C-level, they are absolutely at the peak.

To balance the two, the minimum number of worm cells needed is a hundred times that of the cells inside Gao Gong.

Only then can quantity counteract quality to achieve implantation balance.

Even the scholars of the Biological Mutation Association were amazed, saying that country folks really know how to play, and that it could be done this way.

”Pursuing the strong survival ability of lower lifeforms, huh?” Dai Bin seemed quite normal before he saw the tentacles, and he quickly guessed Gao Gong’s intention.

”In essence, advanced and lower lifeforms are not distinguished by energy level, but by complexity. Of course, the more complex, the greater the energy level. This is a phenomenon, but it cannot be cause and effect reversed.”

”If the planet beneath our feet encounters a catastrophic disaster, the only survivors could be countless billions of bacteria. Humans, in a sense, are just carriers and playthings for bacteria.”

”As intelligent species, what we should pursue is not the stars and the sea, or forming a complex life system, but breaking free from the shackles of microorganisms and creating our own basic life units.”

”Delving deeper into oneself, this is the essence of evolution.”

A young apprentice watched Dai Bin murmur to himself, shaking his head helplessly. He knew that his mentor’s old habit had resurfaced; whenever he encountered an experiment of interest, he would start quoting literature.

”So that’s why you like tentacles, because they can bind, and the deeper the binding, the happier you are?”

Gao Gong walked in, watching the ’slime’ accumulating in the nutrient tank, and quipped at Dai Bin, who was talking to himself about the ’slime’.

Dai Bin’s face immediately changed, flushing red, his eyes widened, veins bulging, and he muttered how could someone slander his reputation, mumbling about liking tentacles doesn’t necessarily mean liking bondage... the sacrifice spirit of scientists... in short, a bunch of words outsiders couldn’t understand.

Huang Yuanli couldn’t help but sigh, ”The more powerful someone is, the more perverted they are. You either like brains or tentacles. Compared to them, your level of perversion is quite low, consultant you.”

Gao Gong glanced at her sideways, ”What are you doing here?”

”Can’t I just have a look,” Huang Yuanli puffed out her unremarkable chest defiantly, ”Surgery is risky. If anything happens to you, as a friend, I’d at least get to see you one last time.”

”There’s as much risk in this level of transformation as there is in striking a nail,” Gao Gong turned to see the crowd; there really were a lot of onlookers, young faces from the Cable Tribe, old-timers, Hunter lackeys, even newcomers like Sun Hong and Helli Wilder.

With the big battle approaching and all the preparations done, everyone seemed to have slackened.

Gao Gong ignored them, took off his surgical gown, and walked into the slime on his own.

A chorus of screams erupted behind him, especially from the Little Women, who were the loudest. It seemed these folks weren’t here to watch surgery but to see him streak.

Advanced lifeforms absorbing lower cells in this ’reverse evolution’ isn’t difficult. Most potential issues in transformation surgeries aren’t issues here, much like an experienced driver speeding smoothly.

Soon, numerous neural bundles grew out from Gao Gong, each one emitting a ’sizzling’ sound, the invisible bioelectricity at work.

At the same time, a strong digestive noise emanated from Gao Gong’s body.

Thanks to Gao Gong’s formidable devouring capability, these biologists didn’t even need to consider the issue of cell fusion.

The only real concern was whether the ’cellular slime’ extracted from these hundreds of desert worms was enough for him to absorb.

Whether they could evolve some ’earthworm’ abilities before being engulfed was crucial for the transformation’s success.

Looking at Gao Gong sinking motionless into the slime like a corpse, Huang Yuanli pouted, finding nothing else worth seeing.

Her eyes darted, and she quietly engaged in mind communication. Sun Hong glanced at her but said nothing.

It seemed a white mist appeared before Little Women’s eyes. According to Han Brain, this was something called the ’Amygdala Protection Layer’, used for memory protection; the stronger the creature’s consciousness, the heavier the mist.

The perverted consultant’s mist was as dense as water.

Fortunately, this guy was in an unconscious state, allowing her to enter the mist undisturbed.

The deeper she went, the stronger the digestive sounds became. Little Women followed the sound direction, soon witnessing an astounding scene.

Hundreds of thousands of desert worms covered the ground, waves of them rising high, continuously surging forward.

Three giant beasts sat on the ground, continually scooping up desert worms and stuffing them into their mouths, slime and juices trickling down their mouths.

One of the beasts resembled the Reaper Queen she once saw, except it was twice as large and had six pairs of blade wings, whereas the Reaper Queen had only three pairs.

It ate with gusto.

A heavy sliding noise arose as a ’Giant Bone Serpent’, over a hundred meters long, slowly slithered in the mist.

Compared to devouring these desert worms, it seemed it relished pressing them flat.

Where it passed, the mist ’pitter-pattered’ down like rain.

For some reason, Little Women felt this creature was incomplete, as if searching for something.

The last beast looked like a large peacock, each ’tail feather’ emanating an indescribable radiance, more captivating than diamonds.

If the perverted consultant really had such ’beautiful feathers’, she said she’d have to get one.

However, like the ’Bone Serpent’, the peacock’s body was vague, only vaguely visible when it bowed its head to ’catch worms’, barely revealing its long beak.

This beast had the haughtiest expression; the surrounding desert worms were torn apart, as if it was dissatisfied being amongst these lower creatures.

’No wonder the perverted consultant is such a pervert, turns out he really is a brute!’

Huang Yuanli watched with relish, as did the others.

Not knowing how long passed, even the most gourmet Reaper Queen became full, ignoring the worms crawling around it, and the ’Great Peacock’ had long closed its eyes.

Conversely, the ’White Bone Giant Serpent’ was in high spirits, with a group of worms following behind, their bodies gradually elongating, no longer plump and bloated but snake-like, while the White Bone Giant Serpent was wrapped in the worms’ flesh, gaining a touch of wildness.

The two seemed to be undergoing some degree of fusion.

”In deep mountains and great marshes, dragons and serpents arise.”

Huang Yuanli suddenly recalled a phrase Professor Han had taught her long ago.

”Damn it!”

Huang Yuanli looked down and suddenly discovered that her lower half had sunk into the ’ground’.

Only then did she realize that it wasn’t three giant beasts, but four, with the fourth being the Brain covering the ground.

At this moment, Huang Yuanli remembered the dread of becoming a ’Brain Toilet’.

”Don’t eat me, perverted consultant, it’s me!!”

Huang Yuanli was once again submerged in brain matter.

Meanwhile, the ’slimmed down’ Desert Worms ceased their movements, entangling and intertwining like the convolutions covering the surface of a brain.

Huang Yuanli suddenly opened her eyes, feeling around in a panic and heaved a sigh of relief. But as she looked around, she realized that everyone around her had their mouths agape.

She looked over, and her mouth slowly opened as well.

In the nutrient tank, the cell mucus had dwindled to a thin layer. In its place was a worm five or six meters long. Its head vaguely resembled Gao Gong’s face but was grotesquely distorted. Moreover, hanging on the water tank-thick body of the worm were many slimmed-down Desert Worms, twisting and writhing like living snakes.

On the back of the giant worm, an iron spine was embedded in it, the most dissimilar feature to the ’Orochimaru body.’

Professor Han abruptly turned his head to look at Dai Bin and coldly questioned, ”How could this happen?!”

Dai Bin was also stunned, murmuring, ”Impossible, a transformation of this magnitude shouldn’t occur at this level of alteration.”

The biologist instantly felt several murderous gazes fixated upon him.

In this emerging force with upward momentum, no one could replace Gao Gong’s role; losing him was unthinkable.

Fortunately, this cold atmosphere quickly dissipated as the giant ’worm’ slowly contracted, gradually revealing Gao Gong’s figure, looking almost unchanged except for the mucus covering him.

Gao Gong deeply gasped for breath, feeling as if he had been diving underwater for a long time and finally broke the surface.

Scanning around, seeing everyone gaping at him, he peevishly said, ”Get me some clothes, have some decency.”

”Are you even human?” Huang Yuanli cautiously asked only after Gao Gong was dressed.

Why are you insulting people again!?

Gao Gong frowned, looking at her, ”In what way do I not seem human?”

Then he extended his arm, and with a thought, several fleshy tendrils emerged from its surface, a very Cthulhu-like scene that made one’s scalp tingle.

In what way do you seem human now!!

Body Cell Enhancement (Biological Transformation): Through the secretion of hormones in the body, it stimulates the surface cells to produce low-level biological soft tissue, consuming 10 Physical Strength points/second.

These tentacles were just tentacles, hanging lifelessly on his arm, utterly useless.

However, as Gao Gong had another thought, nerve bundles snaked into the tentacles, and after a moment of needle-like pain, the tentacles began to wriggle and twist in sync.

”Ugh~”

Huang Yuanli began to dry heave.

Dai Bin’s eyes lit up.

Others turned pale and blanched.

With a thought, Gao Gong had a dozen tentacles all fall off together, leaving the surface of his arm smooth and intact.

Gao Gong glanced at the blood volume, noting that he only lost a little over ten points, one point per tentacle.

Picking up a tentacle from the ground, he discovered that it was still twisting, indicating that the nerve bundles inside were well shielded by the biological membrane and quite active.

This reminded him of octopus tentacles.

”Is this thing edible? I wonder how it tastes?”

”Ugh~~”

Now, it wasn’t just Huang Yuanli dry heaving.

Apart from the ’Body Cell Enhancement,’ this evolution had little to comment on.

After all, these were low-level biological cells.

No attribute points were added.

No biological skills were gained.

Except for that utterly useless ’Alien Insect Form.’

I am not Orochimaru, this is my true self, okay.

However, Gao Gong had expected this before the modification, so he wasn’t too disappointed.

What invigorated him instead was that he could finally change professions; he had been holding it in for three months! Nearly turned sick from it!

Any more and he’d become a pervert!

Oh, he’s already a pervert.

Though this ’perversion’ was useless.
