Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 117: Chapter 104: Biologist

Confronting the beast tide, the disposal of radiation beast corpses is a problem.

Low-level radiation corpses can still be disposed of by incineration, but high-level radiation beast corpses produce intense radiation energy just from burning.

Abandoning them is not an option, as they could be devoured by other beasts, accelerating their evolution.

Dragging them into the oasis is also not feasible, as radiation beast corpses emit radiation rays wildly — unless you want an oasis without living people.

The simplest method is to sort them like trash, cutting out useful materials to be sent to the biological factory at the rear, while leaving the rest at a node difficult for the beast tide to attack. Only after the tide recedes can they think of a way to dispose of them.

The Wilder Motel is such a place.

”Yes, yes, I know you’ve been under a lot of pressure, but haven’t I come back now?”

”Buy, why not buy them? Tell them not to worry, just transport the goods over, and I’ll have the Security Corps send the money!”

”You want a rebate? What a joke, as the highest military commander, how can I abuse my position for personal gain? What do you think I am?”

”Sixty-forty split? No way, at least eighty-twenty; eighty for you and twenty for me. What do you need so much money for? Can money buy you loyalty? Can money help you lose weight?”

Gao Gong clutched the orange cat up the stairs, bargaining with it in his heart.

The reason he was holding it this way was because the orange cat’s weight was equivalent to that of a piglet, and his arms couldn’t bear the weight of such a life level.

Old Wilder carefully followed behind Gao Gong. As a force protector of the motel, this middle-aged man had seven to eight followers and over a dozen guns, considered a small local power. He usually walked sideways like a crab.

But compared to a giant like the Public Security Corps, he was nothing.

Faced with a big shot like Gao Gong, he was very nervous.

”Are they inside?”

”Yes, yes, according to the orders of the sirs, they’re sustained by nutrient fluid every day, none of them have died.”

Gao Gong walked to a guest room door, and Old Wilder hurried to open it. The guest room was of a regular style, containing a bed and a writing desk. The only special feature was a woman tied to the bed.

This woman was a low-level soldier of the Security Corps, more precisely, a biologically transformed warrior whose body had mutated.

At the moment, a dense stench of decay emanated from the woman, especially from the rows of bloody holes on her arms and thighs, where pus continuously seeped out, turning most of the bed sheet yellow.

The floor was not clean either.

”I change the sheets every day,” Old Wilder whispered in defense.

At this time, the woman with a hardened face looked ferocious, her pale eyes glaring, ready to bite at the sight of two living people.

Radiation corpses are different from biological corpses. The latter are controlled by a virus, bloodthirsty by nature, while the former have an excess of pure heat, with a survival instinct urging them to release radiation.

Gao Gong opened his palm, and in the next moment, under Old Wilder’s horrified gaze, dozens of blood threads shot out, embedding into the various parts of the opponent’s body.

The opponent instantly quieted down.

Gao Gong squinted, eyes reflecting a giant bone radiation corpse.

This woman was sealed within the corpse, struggling to crawl out yet unable to do so.

Name: Sun Hong

Race: Carbon-Based Mutant

Life Value: 90/90

Physical Strength Value: 150/150

Biological Energy: 55

Personal Attributes: Power 4 Agility 6 Endurance 4 Intelligence 3 Perception 3

Status: Biological Mutation, Radiation High Temperature, Mental Illusion

As Gao Gong unleashed the pressure of a high-level radiation beast, the opponent’s mental illusion on the attribute panel began to decrease—

90%, 80%, 70%, 60%

When it dropped to 20%, the whiteness finally disappeared from Sun Hong’s eyes.

However, her pupils did not contract, remaining dilated.

Gao Gong slightly furrowed his brows, biological straws extended from his fingertips, inserting into her veins, a digesting sound echoed.

Soon, her ’high temperature radiation’ also began to decrease.

When it reduced to 30%, Gao Gong ceased his actions.

He could feel that her life activities had dropped to the alert line.

If this continues, he would be absorbing not only the radiation but also her life.

”So this is the kind of rejection it is.”

He roughly understood why the biological weapons would backfire.

Biological rejection has many forms, and hers belongs to species rejection.

The ultimate goal of this rejection is to merge biological weapons with humans, forming a new radiation beast.

Gao Gong stood up, looking at a small virtual potted plant placed on the headboard, its flowers vibrant, leaves lush with a faint music emanating from it.

Gao Gong looked at Old Wilder, who quickly explained.

”This was my daughter’s idea, she thought music could ease people’s minds and reduce illness.”

”A good idea.”

After that, Gao Gong went to inspect other biological soldiers. The symptoms of these soldiers were all different, including metallic mutation, biological virus, and radiation mutation.

Each mutation requires a different treatment method.

He knew several rejection handling plans, all requiring advanced biological knowledge.

Without further ado, Gao Gong directly called over the group from the Biological Mutation Association.

”General,” faced with the current Gao Gong, this group of biologists dared not to act arrogantly.

Gao Gong looked at the leader, a middle-aged man wearing glasses who appeared cultured and refined.

”Name, position.”

”Dai Bin, position is Biological Tutor,” Dai Bin responded, relatively calmly.

The lowest level for a Biological Tutor is Level 10, akin to combat professions, scholar-type professions also have many different research directions after transitioning.

”What is your research direction?”

”’Evolutionary Biology’ and ’Biological Genetics.’

Gao Gong’s eyes lit up; exactly what’s needed.

”Do you still want those few B-level Radiation Beast corpses?”

Dai Bin suddenly lifted his head and said, ”General, willing to return them to us?”

”I prefer to use the term trade.”

”General, our Biological Mutation Association has a collaboration agreement with your legion; the former Demon Mountain General also approved it.”

”That’s why he’s dead,” Gao Gong said calmly, ”Instructor Dai, you somewhat misunderstand the current situation; your options are quite limited.”

Dai Bin forced a bitter smile and asked, ”What does the General want?”

”The qualification of a Biologist; additionally, I want a set of Biological Evolution Templates from your association.”

Dai Bin’s expression changed, saying, ”That’s impossible; all ’Biological Evolution Templates’ are developed with investments from major corporations and protected by confidentiality agreements enforced by the mechanical directives of Mother City, we cannot violate them.”

”Then, is the Biologist’s registration no problem?” Gao Gong asked with keen interest.

Dai Bin hesitated for a long time before reluctantly nodding.

”Then why is Instructor Dai still here?”

Dai Bin sighed deeply and stood up directly.

Players have undertaken the Biological Mutation Association’s task in past lives because ’Alchemy’ boosts statuses, making it extremely popular.

It’s just that the membership threshold is high; either infiltrate the Radiation Zone that has become an Uninhabited Land and hunt enough Radiation Beasts or steal biotech experimental subjects from biochemical corporations.

The former will be hunted by the Knight Order, the latter will be wanted by major corporations.

Of course, how can the clever players be stumped?

Thus, players employed at biochemical corporations volunteered to test new drugs, transform into genetic monsters, then commit suicide by jumping off buildings, letting transitioning players collect the corpses.

They call this the ’corpse collection playstyle.’

Once this style was developed, players flocked in, and Gao Gong knew several biological rejection plans that players managed to grind out blueprints for.

Of course, nowadays, Gao Gong doesn’t need to go through such trouble.

Very quickly, Dai Bin returned, holding a temporary access chamber, saying, ”The basic data of the Biological Mutation Association is all here; General, you can familiarize yourself first, if there’s anything unclear, you can ask me.”

This access chamber is a neural equipment, somewhere between ’earphones’ and ’helmets’; its function is similar to a notebook, only it directly injects data into the brain.

”To digest this knowledge would take about half a month—”

”No need for such trouble.”

The next moment, Gao Gong’s palm began to transform, becoming a blood-red transparent tentacle wrapped around the equipment, hundreds of spiritual nodes lighting up simultaneously.

Information Transmission (Biological Transformation): Brain-in-a-Vat grants you powerful information reading capabilities, your information digestion speed is a hundred times that of ordinary people.

Quickly, the system’s notification sounds rang out.

[You have obtained a new profession: Biologist, comprehending the skill ’Species Origin’]

Species Origin: Through in-depth research in biological knowledge, trace the evolutionary process of species

[You have obtained a new profession: Biologist, acquired Level 1 Biological Blueprint [Enhanced Genome]]

[Enhanced Genome]: Through genetic adjustment techniques, perform basic enhancements on the organism

[You have comprehended the professional skill ’Genetic Code Analysis’]

Genetic Code Analysis: Read and decipher genetic information, master the evolution process of ordinary species, understand their evolutionary direction

[You have comprehended knowledge [Zoology]]

[You have comprehended knowledge [Botany]]

[You have comprehended knowledge [Cell Tuning]]

Gao Gong focused closely on the third professional knowledge.

[Cell Tuning]

Lv1: Break down defense mechanisms, specialize in transplant rejection phenomena, research ’foreign components’ between animal and plant bodies, organic and mechanical bodies.

This is exactly what he wanted!

Without the slightest hesitation, he upgraded this professional knowledge to Lv5.

Lv5: The merging of different types of cells under unnatural conditions to perform major mutations on organisms, thereby elevating the level of life.

With the Prosthetic Doctor’s transformation knowledge, betting on a few biological blueprints from memory is still feasible.

Gao Gong smacked his lips, just about to say something, when Dai Bin suddenly lost his calm demeanor, face flushed, trembling as he approached.

”Tentacle, tentacle—”

Oh, right, Gao Gong recalled, the people in the Biological Mutation Association have somewhat unusual proclivities.

Then he kicked Dai Bin to the ground.

Although I also like tentacles, they must be tentacle girls.

I am the Tentacle Lord!
