Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 102: Chapter 92: Biological Mutation Association

Beast tides are generally seldom interrupted, as it requires a lot of energy to stir up a beast tide, and interrupting one is similarly costly.

But it’s not without exceptions.

For instance, after three out of five flying giant beasts were killed and two escaped, a large number of Radiation Beasts, driven by an invisible will, began to disperse and retreat.

If they don’t leave, the ’missile launching wells’ scattered by the Security Corps across the desert are about to activate.

Without the vast number of host bodies, the mutant energy gradually degraded from purple to red.

This is the mark of the Beast Tide dropping to ’D-level’.

A large number of Radiation Beast corpses were concentrated and incinerated.

In fact, they had already been burned once when they were killed.

Now it can only be considered secondary processing.

Trucks were brought in from the front line.

They weren’t transporting corpses, but rather living people.

Only these living people were in strange states, covered in nodules or suffering biological weapon backlash all over their bodies, or exhibiting symptoms similar to ’cyber psychosis’, attacking ’enemies’ indiscriminately.

The sudden outburst of these Biological Transformers was also the reason the plan almost failed.

In addition, there were corpses of Exoskeleton Warriors whose bodies would be sent back to their families along with large sums of compensation.

This is a treatment that the Mechanical Hunters, those wild dogs, cannot enjoy.

Neither do Combat Robots, which would be reassembled on the spot and continue to be deployed in the 007 battle.

Fortunately, Mechanical City only has the ’Bionic Human Bill’ and not the ’Robot Bill’, otherwise these Combat Robots would definitely strike and parade.

This situation is actually not uncommon in the Mechanical Civilization.

Among the bodies sent back, there were several familiar faces, such as members of the assault team, including Captain Zhou Cong.

This salted fish Major who desperately wanted to leave the battlefield ultimately died on it.

Many teammates of the Mechanical Hunters were also digging up corpses at the front line; cannon fodder not to mention, in fact, many formidable Mechanical Hunters also perished.

Two members of the Symbiont squad died, impaled alive by Mechanical Rhinoceroses that pierced through their mecha.

Black God also died; it was said he entered a ’cyber psychosis’ state before his death, attacking indiscriminately. Looking at the bullet holes all over him, it’s hard to say whether he was killed by Radiation Beasts or shot by comrades.

At least he doesn’t have to repay his corporate loans.

Miyamoto Sanzang also died; his death was unfair. Before dying, he had just used a powerful move to cut off one of ’King Ghidorah’s’ heads and was in a weakened state.

Then that ’Radiation King Ghidorah’ expanded, with energy beams all over its back. He had nowhere to hide and was directly torn apart into pieces.

Several other well-known Hunters from Oasis also died.

Unlike their counterparts from Automobile City, they didn’t face the Beast Tide directly at first.

Of course, they now receive the same treatment.

Crawler didn’t die, but he permanently lost an arm.

He can transform into a Radiation Beast and even absorb radiation power to strengthen himself, which is why he rapidly climbed up the ranks.

He kept faking death, kept transforming, but in such an intense battlefield, he eventually ’got his shoes wet’ by the river.

He was attacked during a transformation, lost an arm, and even the transformation itself went wrong. Now there’s a lingering pain inside him.

”Miyamoto is really dead.”

Watching Miyamoto Sanzang’s AI apprentice silently piece together his body, Crawler’s expression was somewhat forlorn.

Among the Mechanical Hunters in Automobile City, he and Miyamoto were considered the oldest.

With Miyamoto dead, only he remains from the Crawler squad.

For a moment, he felt a strong urge to lay down his armor and return to the fields.

But where are there green mountains and clear waters in this Radiation Zone?

The sound of dragging startled him, and he looked up to see a dozen cranes hoisting the ’Giant Bombing Bird’.

Because this flying giant beast was the largest, it was left for last to be transported; seeing the arm-thick steel cables stretched like steel spears showed how heavy it was.

They would be transported to a temporary warehouse at the rear, then frozen and preserved, finally sent to large corporations’ biological laboratories.

There’s a saying that Mechanical City retains this Radiation Zone instead of destroying the continent with Star-Destroying Level weapons like during the Mechanical War because big corporations need the biological cells of these high-level Radiation Beasts.

A cowboy riding a Plasma Horse curiously looked at Crawler, seemingly wanting to chat. He was born in the ’Horse Field’ Oasis, a rare tribal-style Oasis.

His Plasma Horse suddenly snorted heavily.

At the same time, Crawler’s skin turned purple-red.

He abruptly looked in the direction of the warehouse storing the flying giant beasts, his face uncertain.

”Beast Tide?!”

...

Meanwhile, in the underground command center, a sharp alarm sounded simultaneously.

”Beast tide? Didn’t the beast tide just recede!?”

”Position, report the position, immediately redeploy support troops, what! There’s no one left?”

”The front legion is still hunting the fleeing beast groups, the rear just put out a fire, there really is no one left.”

The voice on the other end of the phone stammered.

”Besides, it doesn’t look like a beast tide, there aren’t that many, and on the mechanical beasts, it seems to be people.”

”People?!”

A commander looked at the string of moving red dots on the electronic map, hesitating for a moment.

”Their target seems to be those two giant beast corpses.”

...

”Sorry, could you please lower your guns? Otherwise, if they accidentally fire, it could be very dangerous.”

On the back of a three-meter-tall giant horned rhinoceros, a Mechanical Hunter, looking down maliciously, spoke.

A few guards from the Security Corps trembled all over. Honestly, they were very scared.

Aside from a few ’willpower constant’ combat robot units, the Security Corps’ combat power is actually not high, at the standard ’pseudo army’ level.

Compared to the Mechanical Hunters who risk their lives on the battlefield with mechanical beasts, they were far inferior.

Under normal circumstances, they could rely on their authority, but when others rely on ’mechanical beast authority’, they were left speechless.

Matsushima Keiko swaggered at the forefront, the intelligent tachi connected to her knife holder flashing with radiance, slicing open the warehouse doors.

The gangs in the Sub-human Continent liked to input ’swordsmanship patterns’ into storage devices and then perform ’deep learning’ with combat chips. The stronger the chip’s computing power, the higher the close combat level.

Among some old-era families, there are even ’advanced weapon driving algorithms’, which can allow an underage girl to master master-level techniques.

Matsushima Keiko was one such person.

Her combat chip, ’Chaotic Cherry Blossom Frenzy’, stored such an algorithm.

The downside is, once separated from accustomed intelligent weapons, close combat ability would instantly drop a level.

Moreover, the electronic defense walls of these intelligent weapons are easy to breach. Once hacked by hackers, they might end up harming themselves.

Therefore, research departments of some large security groups have begun to develop technology to infuse ’weapon driving algorithms’ into electronic brains.

A group of people flocked in with Gao Gong.

Besides two gigantic corpses, the warehouse had just over a dozen cell collectors, who, of course, were quickly subdued.

”Do you know who we are?” a biologist asked, braving himself, facing the group of savages with long and short guns.

Gao Gong glanced at the white work coat the other was wearing.

In the middle, there was a red-green double helix structure.

”People from the Biological Mutation Association? Daring to touch my spoils, that’s courting death!”

The Biological Mutation Association is a research association focused on biological mutations, maintaining normal operations by collaborating with major enterprises for R&D funding.

In Mechanical City, there are many such research associations; some thrive as VIPs of big enterprises, while others, due to staff scarcity and broken financial chains, are near disbandment.

And the ’Biological Mutation Association’ belonged to the former, within which an auxiliary profession ’biologist’ existed, a secondary role that Gao Gong was determined to obtain.

Gao Gong took a glance at Professor Han, the master of bionics, who immediately took over their work, directing the tribe girls to extract B-level biological cells and cut radiation organs.

The biologist widened his eyes, watching this scene.

He initially thought these savages would recklessly handle and damage the precious biological materials.

But after a while, he found they were pretty professional.

Gao Gong moved to the other side, where was the flesh of the ’Seven-Tailed Winged Dragon’, but this body had long turned into a gigantic mechanical skeleton, with all other energy organs transformed into energy tides.

Gao Gong extended an arm, and the next moment, countless blood threads surged out from it, starting to cover the vast skeleton.

[You comprehend Large Mechanical Wing]

[You comprehend Winged Dragon Claw]

[You comprehend Flight Wing Digit]

[You comprehend Energy Heating Structure]

[You comprehend Heat Dissipation Patterns]

It’s always good to collect more biological structures; you never know when you might need them.

For instance, when undergoing transformation yourself.

Gao Gong’s ’perverted’ peers all understood, after all, he was a maniac who could pilot a B-level giant flying beast.

But as the biologist watched this scene, his eyeballs nearly fell out.

”How are you, how did you do that?”

”Wanna know, huh,” Gao Gong glanced at him, grinning: ”Give me the identity of a biological researcher, and I’ll tell you.”
