Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 198: Chapter 151: Challengers Frightened by the Grass Trial (4k)

In the afternoon, Diglett had already dug a big hole under the Salt House.

The little Diglett was panting from exhaustion; the scale of this project was really too much for it.

But it still wasn’t enough for so many Naclstack to live in, and after digging out the underground, we still have to prevent the surface from collapsing.

All these require some preventive measures in advance.

Staring at the big hole Diglett dug, Naoki fell into deep thought.

Seeing his expression, the Diglett had both anticipation and worry in its little eyes: ”Chirp chirp chirp?”

”Don’t worry, you won’t be left out.” Before the project is completed, he won’t treat his employees badly.

Naoki took out the sandwich he brought and placed it on the ground.

Diglett quickly moved over happily and started nibbling the sandwich in front of it.

”I have no experience in building burrows. If the ground collapses after digging, that would be a bit of a loss.”

As Naoki walked out, he thought to himself: ”I have to consult Keri about what method to use to prevent collapses.”

He walked to the pasture, intending to get some ice blocks from Glaceon’s ice cellar to make a slushie.

But just at that moment, three school uniform-clad young boys and girls suddenly arrived in the pasture.

”Huh?”

Seeing them, Naoki was a bit surprised.

The trio evidently had already noticed him too.

Naoki heard them loudly plotting.

”Is this the farm Carter mentioned? The place where the Grass Trial is held?”

”Huh? No way? The one helping us train is a farmer?”

”Whoa! What did I just see! Is that a Dragonite? How can there be such a rare Pokémon here?”

Naoki’s heart leaped, thinking that Carter had actually advertised for him.

After the initial rain and clouds, an ordinary rave was no longer satisfying the Gogoats. For these past days, they’ve been itching for a fight.

Just as he was about to go over, Pawmo flew by.

The trio’s gaze was immediately attracted by the dashing Pawmo wearing a Red Cloak.

The three honest students, who had always been well-behaved, saw this incredible scene and widened their eyes in disbelief.

One of the girls with short pink hair even exclaimed in awe:

”Oh my god! Is that... Pawmo? Can Pawmo really fly?”

Another boy wearing glasses adjusted them, calmly observing Pawmo, and said: ”It should be using the electromagnetic levitation principle.”

At this moment, someone else noticed Koraidon.

”What Pokémon is that?”

”I don’t know either.”

”What is this place? How can there be so many rare Pokémon?”

Looking at the trio’s slack-jawed expressions, Naoki found it amusing and then stepped forward: ”Hello!”

”Sorry for the intrusion!” The trio was still quite polite.

They first greeted Naoki, then asked: ”Are you the owner here? We heard from Carter that there’s a Grass Trial here to help Pokémon train...”

”That’s me.” Naoki nodded with a smile. He glanced at the school uniforms on the trio and asked, ”You’re all students from Orange Academy like Carter, right?”

”No, I’m from Naranja Academy,” the girl said.

Naoki was a bit surprised.

The girl then explained about Paldea Academy, which is divided into Orange Academy and Naranja Academy, where new students can choose different academies based on their preferences.

Upon hearing this, Naoki nodded. Although unexpected, he didn’t think much of it.

After all, this world was originally a fusion of orange and purple, with both Professor Sada and Professor Turo present, so it seemed normal.

He glanced at the trio and asked: ”You’re all here to participate in the Grass Trial, right?”

The trio nodded, recalling the changes in Carter and Delibird, filled with curiosity.

What kind of special training could cause such profound changes in such a short time?

Their hearts were quite itchy.

”Follow me, but participation in the trial requires a fee of 2000 League coins,” Naoki said.

This price was set after careful consideration.

”What?” Hearing the fee requirement, the trio looked at each other: ”Carter didn’t mention a fee?”

Naoki explained: ”That’s because after the battle, I will provide treatment services for your Pokémon, ensuring 100% recovery no matter how severe the injury.”

”I see!” The trio suddenly understood.

League coins, the price of four bottles of MooMoo Milk; if it indeed strengthens their Pokémon, it seems quite worth it.

Seeing their expressions, Naoki guessed their thoughts and smoothly reminded:

”Whether you can become stronger depends on your own and your Pokémon’s determination and insight.”

”Got it!” The trio nodded; they had heard Carter say this.

”Very good, then let’s start!”

Saying this, Naoki led them to the edge of the battle arena.

He waved towards the sheep pen, and three eager Gogoat immediately ran over, looking at the trio with a fighting spirit.

”Baaah!”

The trio: ?

Naoki explained to them: ”The Grass Trial consists of three stages: The first stage is a battle with one Gogoat, the second stage is a battle with two Gogoat simultaneously, and the third stage requires battling three Gogoat together.”

”Those who ultimately pass the trial will receive a mysterious prize that aids in Pokémon growth.”
