Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 183: Chapter 143: Dragonite Delivery Service

Speaking of Bell, Naoki thought of the girl suffering from paranoia.

He casually asked, ”How is Bell doing now?”

Elo sighed, ”She’s still the same, staying in her room all day drawing, barely coming out except at meal times.”

Naoki nodded and suddenly had a good idea.

”I have a method we could try, but I’m not sure if it will work.”

”Oh?” Elo quickly asked, ”What method? Tell me about it!”

Naoki: ”It’s to let your daughter start raising a Pokemon from an egg.”

”I think she’s not just afraid of Pokemon; she’s afraid of the outside world. Like you said, her childhood experiences left her with a psychological shadow, making her mistakenly believe that everything outside is full of dangers.”

”In this case, achieving it all at once is impossible. We have to take it slow, first by giving her a Pokemon egg to take care of.”

”To her, a Pokemon egg wouldn’t seem so frightening; it’s just a harmless egg.”

”Once she’s gradually familiarized with the egg, if the Pokemon hatches then, she might not feel so scared and might even accept the Pokemon she hatched with her own hands.”

Elo nodded repeatedly, his eyes lighting up: ”Why didn’t I think of this brilliant idea?!”

Naoki laughed: ”It’s just a suggestion, maybe it can help you.”

Elo thought carefully, then asked again, ”What kind of Pokemon egg do you think I should give Bell?”

Hearing this, Naoki pondered while saying, ”Firstly, it can’t be a Scyther egg, nor any Pokemon that appears large and frightening.”

Elo: ”Mm-hmm, then what?”

Naoki continued: ”Secondly, it should be a Pokemon that’s easy to get close to people and doesn’t randomly emit fire or electricity, like Pikachu, because when stimulated, it discharges.”

Elo agreed with a nod.

Suitable Pokemon...

A few types of Pokemon popped into Naoki’s mind, and then he suggested:

”Ralts, a small and humanoid Pokemon that can use psychic powers to sense the Trainer’s feelings and thoughts.”

”And also Vulpix, Togepi, Sunkern, Slowpoke, Eevee...”

Saying this, Naoki suddenly realized that Pokemon like Ralts and Vulpix are rare, and it’s hard for ordinary people to obtain their eggs.

After some thinking, he suggested, ”Then how about Eevee!”

Eevee looks harmless, and many people raise this Pokemon as pets in ordinary families. Their eggs are relatively easy to obtain.

Elo responded with excitement, ”I got it, thank you so much for your advice, Naoki!”

Naoki smiled, seeing that Elo was about to leave, he asked Dragonite to follow and familiarize itself with the route, so they could start delivering milk to them early in the morning.

Dragonite had no objections and nodded before following Elo to Porto Marinada Town.

Watching their backs, Naoki couldn’t help but think about what to do when the number of people ordering milk from the ranch increases and Dragonite can’t keep up...

He thought of the group of Dragonite on Dragonite Island.

Could he possibly hire them to come over and help with work?

Naoki remembered last time he went to Dragonite Island, several Dragonite wanted to follow him, and he thought this method was feasible.

But this matter still needed to be discussed with Dragonite.

Taking advantage of this time, Naoki went and washed up, and when he returned to the house drying his hair, Dragonite landed in the ranch.

Naoki was a bit surprised to see what Dragonite was carrying: ”What’s that?”

”Roar-woo~”

Dragonite happily walked forward, placing the bundle on the table. Naoki opened it to find a pile of berries inside.

He raised an eyebrow: ”From Mr. Elo?”

”Roar-woo!” Dragonite nodded.

”Alright.” Naoki understood it should be thanks for the suggestion he provided.

Refusing would be inappropriate, so he accepted it, placing it aside as snacks for the Pokemon.

As it was about to get dark, after delivering the items to Naoki, Dragonite planned to go outside to watch fireflies and stars, but Naoki stopped it.

Dragonite looked puzzled: ”Roar-woo?”

Naoki asked, ”Dragonite, what do you think about the group of Dragonite on Dragonite Island?”

Upon hearing this, Dragonite became alert.

It wondered why? Did Naoki take a liking to the other Dragonite?

No, that won’t do! Naoki is its Trainer! One Dragonite is enough!

With a serious expression, Dragonite shook its big head and started badmouthing the group of Dragonite: ”Roar-woo roar-woo!”

Naoki: ”...”

Though he couldn’t understand, Naoki roughly guessed Dragonite’s meaning.

His Pokemon are indeed quite jealous.

After some thought, Naoki said, ”It’s not to catch them; it’s to hire them to help work on the ranch.”

Dragonite tilted its head in confusion: ”Roar-woo?”

”I’m thinking that when more people start ordering milk here and you’re overwhelmed, it’ll exhaust you! That’s when we can call them over to help with deliveries.”

”Moreover, they are surely unfamiliar with the outside world of the island, at that time, you can be their leader, introducing them to the outside world and leading them to the town for deliveries.”

Dragonite thought it over carefully, envisioning itself as a Dragonite King commanding a bunch of Dragonite to deliver milk across the sky.

The once weakest Dragonite becoming the leader of Dragonite, how come the more it thought about it, the more comfortable it felt?

Seeing Dragonite’s expression soften, Naoki quickly asked, ”How is it? Want to give it a try? If they don’t do well, we’ll fire them.”

”Roar-woo?” What does fire mean?

”It means not letting them deliver anymore, sending them back to Dragonite Island.”

”Roar-woo!” That’s acceptable!

”So it’s settled then?” Naoki asked.

Dragonite nodded, then joyfully hugged Naoki.

Naoki was so kind! Concerned about its fatigue, he called other Dragonite to help with the work! How is there such a kind Trainer in the world?!

Dragonite was very touched.

Naoki patted its back, smiling: ”Okay, there’s no rush for this, go play outside!”

This was just his plan for the future, currently only two people ordered from the ranch, Dragonite could still manage.

Moreover, the ranch is in the development stage; at this time, if suddenly dozens of Dragonite showed up, it’d completely bankrupt him.

At times like this, it would be great to develop a hunger-satisfying dish.

Speaking of which, Naoki remembered in the anime, May made ”May’s Food No. 2” based on a formula given by Professor Oak.

It’s a very special Pokeblock, where one piece could fill even a Munchlax known for its large appetite.
