Chapter 168: Chapter 134: Green Grass Cake

Naoki eagerly took it out and looked down, and the information about the cake appeared before him.

[Incomplete Green Grass Cake, effect unknown.]

Huh, incomplete?

Naoki was slightly stunned, then remembered that in the game, the cake still needed a layer of cream on top.

With this thought, he went outside and called over Alcremie, borrowing a big bucket of light cream from it.

But the light cream was white and didn’t have a green grass flavor.

After pondering for a moment, Naoki took the freshly crushed grass and added it to the light cream, stirring continuously until the white cream turned the color of grass.

Next up was the final step.

Naoki set the baked cake base and evenly spread the grass-scented green cream on it until everything was smooth.

Finally, he placed a tender green piece of grass on top, and the cake was officially complete.

From its appearance, it looked almost identical to Lazy Sheep’s Green Grass Cake.

This could very well mean he succeeded on his first try!

Naoki looked on eagerly and was thrilled to find that the cake had transformed from [Incomplete Green Grass Cake] to [Green Grass Cake].

[Green Grass Cake (A): A cake made with mature summer grass, flour, MooMoo Fresh Milk, and Alcremie’s cream.

Cooking Effect: Flower Trick, when fed to Grass Type Pokemon, there’s a slight chance the crops nurtured with Grass Type Energy will exhibit minor mutations.

Evaluation: Perfectly integrates the flavors of different ingredients, popular among Grass Type Pokemon, and Grass Type Pokemon who eat it might bring you a pleasant surprise out of gratitude.]

It’s here! It’s the Green Grass Cake, as expected!

Naoki felt a surge of joy and pride inside: ”It seems I really have a knack for making cakes!”

He carried the finished cake impatiently to the goat pen, where he found three Gogoat eating.

The Gogoat caught a whiff of a very special scent.

They looked down to see Naoki holding a small green cake in his hands.

That enticing smell was emanating from the cake.

”Mbaaah?”

”Smo?”

Even the nearby Smoliv was drawn in.

Naoki looked at them and introduced: ”This is a Green Grass Cake made from grass and other ingredients, and should suit your taste.”

He took out a fruit knife and swiftly cut the cake into several pieces, distributing them to the Pokemon in front of him.

The Gogoat licked it once, then sped up eating the cake.

They ate quickly, finishing the cake in no time and looking expectantly.

Seeing the Gogoat enjoyed it, Naoki cheerfully said: ”If you like it, I’ll make it for you often in the future.”

There was conveniently a large pile of grass nearby.

”Mbaaah～”

The Gogoat were delighted.

Right at that moment, a dazzling light suddenly burst from Smoliv nearby.

Naoki and the Gogoat’s attention were instantly captured.

In the light, Smoliv’s appearance rapidly changed.

Its body grew larger, sprouted little arms and legs, and the olive on its head split in two, with the original green leaves wrapping its entire body.

From the outside, it looked like a small girl in a green dress with a bun hairstyle.

Moments later, when the light faded, Naoki smiled and said: ”Congratulations, Smoliv, oh no, I should call you Dolliv now.”

”Dolliv～”

Dolliv let out a cheer, and in the next second, two streams of fragrant oil spurted from the olives on its head.

Naoki and the Gogoat got splashed all over.

The Gogoat bent down and licked the delicious oil on them.

Naoki dabbed a little oil with his hand, sniffed it under his nose, and indeed smelled an extremely fresh and savory fragrance.

This made his eyes light up; the quality of the oil produced by Dolliv was far superior to the ordinary oils sold in town!

”How aromatic!”

Dolliv, seeing that he liked it, couldn’t help but cheer: ”Dolliv!”

Then, two more streams of oil sprayed out.

Naoki was a bit helpless: ”Alright, alright, it’s such a waste for this tasty oil to fall on the ground.”

But he also knew that spraying oil was a way for Dolliv to express its emotions.

At this moment, Alcremie came bouncing from a distance, with Glaceon and the Nacli following behind it.

Seeing them, Naoki quickly called out: ”Alcremie, come check out who this is!”

”Maaa?”

Alcremie turned its head, and when it clearly saw Dolliv, it immediately widened its eyes in disbelief.

”Maaa!”

”Dolliv～”

Dolliv was gentle and soft, a bit like a shy little girl.

Alcremie circled around it, seemingly amazed at how Smoliv evolved into this form.

Naoki got up and stood with the Gogoat, smiling at the scene.

Then, he remembered something important: ”Oh right.”

The Gogoat turned to look: ”Mbaaah?”

Naoki said to them: ”From today forward, I have a new task for you, which is to use your Grass Type Energy to help me tend to the crops in the field, okay?”

”Mbaaah～”

Grass Type Energy? Of course, no problem! The Gogoat happily agreed.

”Then I’ll leave it to you!” Naoki smiled and patted their heads.

The crops tended by the Gogoat underwent magical mutations, and cooking made from these crops would be fed to the Pokemon on the farm, relying on their power to develop the farm, creating a perfect cycle.

Naoki was eager to see the kinds of magical changes the crops would undergo when nurtured by them.

Unfortunately, this batch of crops had only just been planted and would take a long time to mature.

Of course, it’s also possible they’ll remain unchanged.

Because the probability that the Green Grass Cake causes a mutation is so low.

An extremely small chance, which suggests that maybe only one plant in the whole field might change.

But it doesn’t matter; all he wanted was to enjoy life well, the rest is good if it comes, but not required.

The sun in the distance was setting, and as twilight approached, the weary birds in the back mountain began to return home.

Naoki stretched, then looked at Glaceon and went to pick it up.

Glaceon obviously didn’t expect Naoki to suddenly make this move, and it froze for a moment, forgetting to struggle.

Naoki looked into its eyes and smiled: ”You’re so cute!”

”Vee...!”

Glaceon finally reacted, hurriedly breaking free and jumping to the ground, quickly running towards its Ice House.

Seeing this, Naoki couldn’t help but laugh.

Meanwhile, a Nacli was looking up at him, jumping twice on the grass: ”Nacl!”

”Sure, I’ll give you a hug too!”

Naoki bent down and picked up the Nacli. When he lifted it overhead, Nacli let out a surprised cry: ”Nacl!”

The other three Nacli quickly gathered around too, and Naoki hugged each in turn. When he finally finished hugging the last Nacli, Naclstack’s expectant face appeared in front of him.

Naoki: ”...”

He went forward and tried hard to lift Naclstack, but ended up sitting breathless on the grass.

”No way, you’re too heavy.” Naoki said, panting.

After evolving, Naclstack’s weight had soared to over 200 pounds; it wasn’t something an average person could lift.

Upon hearing this, Naclstack’s face showed disappointment, but quickly recovered.

Because it came up with a great idea!

Naclstack crouched, lying on the ground, and turned its head, making a muffled sound: ”Stack!”

”What?” looking at Naclstack’s action, Naoki guessed: ”You want me to get on?”

”Stack!” Naclstack nodded its head.

Since Naoki couldn’t lift it, it would carry Naoki!

”But honestly, I’m pretty heavy!” Naoki reminded.

Naclstack had no problem with that.

Upon seeing this, Naoki held its shoulder and sat on Naclstack. The evolved Naclstack was quite large, with a broad back, more than enough for one person.

Once he was seated, Naclstack stood back up, letting out a happy growl: ”Stack～”

Naoki laughed uncontrollably: ”When you evolve into Garganacl, I’ll be able to sit on your shoulder.”
