Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 176: Chapter 138: Courage Egg Fried Rice, Muster Your Courage!

After planting the Berry seedlings, Naoki went to help Miltank brush its fur and took the opportunity to clean up the Chicken House, finding seven or eight fresh eggs inside.

Once everything was done, he began preparing lunch.

Just right, with fresh eggs in hand, Naoki pondered whether to make fried rice with egg for lunch today?

Speaking of which, since coming to this world, it seems like he hasn’t made egg fried rice once.

Since that’s the case, let’s try it today at noon and see what kind of magical effect a simple egg fried rice might have.

Nearing noon, Naoki originally wanted Carter to stay for a meal, but Carter declined.

”Thank you very much for your hospitality, Mr. Naoki!” Carter said. ”But I have to leave now; this extra-curricular activity only lasts half a month, and I need to go back to prepare for the mid-term exams! The class bus later should get me back to school by nighttime.”

”Alright then.”

Naoki stood at the front of the farm and bid farewell to the boy, watching him leave.

But soon, he remembered something.

Oops! Forgot to have Carter help promote back at school! It would attract more victims!

Naoki felt regretful inside, but there’s a certain fate to such things.

”Well, let’s talk about it later!”

After all, Trainers pass by the farm from time to time.

Thinking this, Naoki turned back to his room to continue preparing lunch.

The method of making egg fried rice is very simple.

Naoki cracked the prepared eggs, separating the whites from the yolks, then used his hands to scatter the leftover rice from last night, continuously mixing with the yolks to ensure that each grain of rice was coated in golden egg liquid.

Next, he heated oil in the pan; the oil was produced by Dolliv.

Once the oil was heated, he cracked two eggs, scrambled and cooked them, then added diced ham and carrot, and finally poured in the rice, seasoning with the right amount of Purifying Salt, continuing to stir-fry.

Soon, the rice in the pan turned golden; each grain was coated fully with egg liquid, looking golden and transparent with distinct colors, and emitting a fragrant aroma.

Koraidon and other Pokemon were attracted over, eagerly looking at the egg fried rice in the pan.

Seeing them like this, Naoki smiled and said, ”Just wait for a bit, it will be ready soon!”

Saying this, seeing it was almost done, he turned off the heat, plated the egg fried rice, and let several Pokemon carry it to the table, while he stayed back to fry some steaks for Cyclizar, Dragonite, and Koraidon.

Just eating egg fried rice, Alcremie and Pawmo could be full, but not the big fellows, so some additional preparation was needed.

Naoki took out purchased steaks from the fridge, putting them in the pan to fry, while checking the info about the egg fried rice.

Huh?

Courage Egg Fried Rice?

Naoki looked unexpectedly at the egg fried rice in front of him.

How does this courage thing work?

Just then, Naoki suddenly heard a loud noise behind him.

He abruptly turned his head, seeing Koraidon running onto his bed, collapsing the bed he had just recently purchased.

Koraidon happily lay on the quilt, satisfied, closing its eyes for sleep.

Witnessing this, Naoki felt a sudden wave of chest tightness and shortness of breath, shouting, ”Koraidon!”

Koraidon instantly opened its eyes, waking up.

Upon realizing the surroundings, it immediately became flustered, hastily shaking its head in denial: ”Ah gah si!”

Naoki wanted to say more, but suddenly remembered something.

Koraidon wasn’t the only one who ate the egg fried rice!

He quickly turned his gaze to the dining table nearby.

The egg fried rice in front of Cyclizar, Alcremie, Pawmo, and Dragonite was also half gone.

Naoki’s gaze moved upward, and upon seeing the expressions on these Pokemon’s faces, he felt a pang in his heart.

Sure enough, the next second, he saw Alcremie sprinting to the kitchen area, starting to produce cream in various places, seemingly wanting to turn it into its own Cream Workshop.

Cyclizar rushed to him, affectionately licking his face with its big tongue, happily embracing him.

Pawmo and Dragonite were full of determination, and they dashed out of the house.

Seeing this, Naoki seized Alcremie with one arm, Cyclizar with another, followed by Koraidon, quickly going outside to check the situation.

After leaving the room, Dragonite charged straight to the area where Gogoat and Dolliv lived, shouting at Gogoat: ”Awwoo!”

That appearance seemed to challenge Gogoat.

Pawmo flew into the air, releasing all its electric energy, seemingly wanting to see how strong the energy within its body was.

Soon, a thundercloud rolling continuously was summoned by Pawmi, terrifying lightning bursting in the sky, Pawmi’s red cloak rustling behind it.

Amidst the pervasive lightning, blue light erupted from its eyes, connecting it to the sky, appearing like a true Thunder God.

Before the sheep pen, Gogoats gladly accepted Dragonite’s challenge.

They combined into one unit, battling Dragonite.

One released Grassy Terrain, the other two wielded Grass blades, attacking Dragonite from the left and right.

Dragonite couldn’t take off in time and was slammed into losing its combat ability.

Gogoats calmly returned to the pen, continuing to eat, leaving Dragonite dizzy-eyed, lying on the ground, tongue languorously hanging to one side.

It’s chaos! Everything’s chaos!

Naoki shouted loudly, ”Stop everything!”

The numerous Pokémon immediately came to their senses, blinking as they realized they were doing what they’d always wanted to do but hadn’t dared.

Naoki sighed helplessly, struggling to drag Dragonite by its tail to his side and taking out Berry Milk to restore its strength.

Soon, Dragonite regained consciousness, showing confusion: ”Awwoo?”

A moment later, Naoki looked at the Pokemon lined up in a row, confessing humbly, as he paced back and forth in front of them.

Seeing their tension, Naoki addressed Cyclizar first, sighing, ”Wanted to mimic Koraidon and lick me too, huh?”

Cyclizar: ”Gah aw...”

Koraidon looked innocent.

Next, Naoki approached Alcremie.

”I know you love making desserts, but don’t worry, once we have a big house in the future, I’ll build a Cream Workshop just for you.”

Alcremie, thinking Naoki was going to scold him, had been worried, and upon hearing this, cheered: ”Mama!” Hail Naoki!

Naoki walked up to Dragonite, amused by Dragonite’s attempt to challenge three Gogoats, asking, ”How does it feel?”

Dragonite looked crestfallen: ”Awwoo...”

Then it was Pawmo’s turn.

Considering Pawmi’s display, Naoki pondered aloud, ”Seems the energy within you is even more profound than I expected, though fully releasing it on the farm could cause panic. Next time, Koraidon and I will take you to test it out over the sea.”

”Pa mo!”

Pawmo nodded steadily.

The last one, he reached Koraidon’s spot.

Picturing the recent scene, Naoki felt exasperated yet amused, ”Second time already.”

Koraidon’s demeanor dropped miserably: ”Ah gah si...”

Seeing Koraidon like this, Naoki’s vexation evaporated.

What’s to be done? It’s his fault; he shouldn’t have impulsively made this egg fried rice!

Oh well.

Naoki sighed helplessly, allowing the numerous Pokémon to return to their meal, while he began cleaning up the kitchen coated in cream by Alcremie, planning to head to town in the afternoon to buy a new bed.
