Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 160: Chapter 128: The Muscleman’s Astonishment

As they spoke, Butterfree suddenly landed next to Naoki, its gaze directed towards the entrance of the ranch.

”Um hmm...”

Following its line of sight, Naoki saw a familiar figure standing there.

A strong man, full of muscles.

Naoki raised his eyebrows slightly and stepped forward. Before he could speak, Everett waved his arms and greeted him.

”Long time no see, Naoki! Remember me? We met once on Glaseado Mountain!”

Naoki: ”Of course!”

He had a deep impression of this Trainer who only captured muscle-type Pokémon.

Naoki welcomed him into the ranch.

Everett looked around, seeing the neatly arranged patches of soil, which were visibly loose, seemingly just tilled and not yet planted with crops.

Everett looked surprised: ”What the heck, you really are a farmer?!”

Everett hadn’t believed it at all. To prove his suspicion, he came to Porto Marinada Town, and upon asking around, he found there really was a Naoki Ranch nearby.

”So, I’ve never lied to you!” Naoki said helplessly. ”As you can see, I just tilled this land a few days ago, planning to plant summer crops soon.”

He began strolling around the ranch with Everett, introducing this strong man to his ranch.

”This is the sheep pen. The magical goat milk I mentioned before comes from these three Gogoats.”

”This is the Salt House. The Nacli and Naclstack here produce Rock Salt, which you can also find at Porto Marinada Market.”

”Over there is where the Miltanks live. You’ve probably had the MooMoo Milk they produce, right?”

Everett nodded. He had indeed had it, and it was because of the MooMoo Milk that he grew so muscular.

”Here is the Chicken House. The hens are just ordinary hens, and their eggs are sold at the Porto Marinada Market, eventually turned into fried eggs for people to eat.”

”As for that Pawmo in front of the door, its current job is as the chicken coop manager of the ranch.”

Everett looked up, wide-eyed, at the Pawmo donned in a red cape and floating steadily in mid-air, asking in a daze:

”Is that a Pawmo?”

Naoki nodded: ”As you can see.”

Everett: ”...Although I’m not from Paldea, I know Pawmo are Electric Type and Fighting Type. How can it possibly fly?!”

Naoki was already accustomed to such matters.

”That’s because this Pawmo is a genius!” He began to speak earnestly with nonsense: ”You know about Levitate, right?”

”...Yes.”

”Pawmo has realized this ability through practice.” His reasoning was convincing.

Is that so? Everett was utterly baffled.

At that moment, a dazzling green light suddenly erupted from the other side of the ranch.

Turning his head, Everett saw that the Gogoat, which had been lying on the ground eating, had somehow stood up.

Then, an unbelievable scene unfolded.

The three Gogoats were continuously enveloped in green light, expanding to cover the entire sheep pen, and even extending outward.

It seemed less like a sheep pen and more like a starry stage in Pokémon Hollywood.

He, a traveling Trainer, was like a member of the audience watching the performance.

”Wait, wait, wait!” Everett held his head, feeling like everything in front of him was beyond his comprehension: ”Are those still the Gogoats I know?”

Naoki: ”...”

Everett rubbed his eyes, confirming that his eyes weren’t deceiving him.

He thought of that Koraidon, then the flying Pawmo, and now these three strange Gogoats before him.

In that moment, Everett couldn’t help but ask: ”Did you also breed these Pokémon?”

A country farmer, living in a backward seaside town, how could he possibly breed so many powerful Pokémon?! He roared internally.

”Yes,” Naoki said earnestly. ”But compared to the little girl who became an Elite at six, I’ve got a long way to go!”

Everett took a deep breath: ”...Where is there a six-year-old Elite girl?”

Just then, Naoki suddenly realized that Poppy, one of Paldea’s Elite Four, hadn’t been born yet.

He said mysteriously: ”One day you’ll hear her name.”

Hearing this, Everett had no idea what he was thinking, but he quickly said: ”Wait! You’re not planning to pass on these Pokémon to your daughter after you get married and have children, so she can become an Elite, are you?”

”...”

Naoki was momentarily speechless and switched topics, beginning to promote his goat milk.

Just then, Everett saw the young man before him mysteriously produce a bottle of goat milk.

”Would you like a bottle? It’s fresh goat milk that can make Pokémon stronger—only 600 League Coins per bottle!”

Everett looked at the three Gogoats and asked: ”Is it because of drinking the goat milk that they became so powerful?”

Naoki thought for a moment and replied: ”It’s just one of the reasons.”

Upon hearing this, Everett fell into thought.

He recalled hearing about Naoki Ranch when he inquired at Porto Marinada Town and learning from the townsfolk about this miraculous goat milk sold there.

Rumor had it that after drinking this goat milk, one would feel completely energized, and Pokémon that lost their ability to battle would recover immediately after drinking it.

There were even stories of bedridden patients walking again after regularly drinking the goat milk.

But... could such an ordinary-looking bottle of goat milk truly have such miraculous effects?

After pondering for a moment, Everett pulled out a wallet and took out several League Coins: ”I’ll take one bottle!”

”Alright.”

Naoki waved his hand, signaling Koraidon to grab a bottle of packaged goat milk from the fridge.

Soon, the goat milk was in Everett’s hands.

He didn’t hesitate, opening the cap and drinking it all in one go.

Quickly, he felt a change within his body, exclaiming in surprise: ”My body is heating up!”

”Do you feel less tired, like you have endless energy?” Naoki asked.

Everett nodded repeatedly: ”Exactly!”

”See, I didn’t lie to you?” Naoki smiled.

”So amazing!”

After personally experiencing the effects of the goat milk, Everett was amazed.

He truly believed that by regularly drinking this goat milk, both Pokémon and humans could become stronger!

Scenes of Everett and his Incineroar, with their muscular bodies, winning a world-class bodybuilding championship flashed through his mind.

He swiftly pulled out his wallet, counting the money before handing most of it out, leaving just enough for meals and travel expenses:

”I want ten bottles to take away!”

”Alright, please wait a moment.”

A moment later.

Naoki and Koraidon stood in the ranch, watching the contented Everett leave, and couldn’t help but sigh.

”Looks like my selling skills aren’t bad at all!”

”Aaah gah eee~”

Naoki chuckled, turning around to walk back.

Then, out of nowhere, he heard the lively chirping of cicadas from the back mountain.

The river flowed with a gentle gurgle, and green lotus leaves grew on the river’s surface.

A few wild Psyducks floated down from upstream.

As they floated past the ranch, they tilted their heads, staring blankly at the scene on the shore, then grabbed a lotus leaf and swam to the river’s opposite bank, starting to hop around on that patch of grass.

The air temperature gradually rose, carrying a hint of warmth, as if declaring: Summer is here! Summer is here!
