Chapter 196: Chapter 150: Diglett on the Job (5k)_2

To feed them, farmers plant trees that Digletts like to eat around the crops, using this method to have them help cultivate the land.

But sometimes, Digletts also nibble on the crops planted by the farmers, causing disaster for them.

Just like now.

So, he’s dealing with a mischievous Diglett on purpose?!

Oh no, those are the crops he worked so hard to plant!

”Koraidon!”

Confronted with the taunting Diglett, Naoki decisively chooses to call for reinforcements.

Koraidon, who was sunbathing not far away, hears the shout and rockets over in a flash.

”Argh gaa sss!”

”Catch it!” Naoki orders.

Upon hearing the command, Koraidon casts its gaze towards the field and, after seeing the instigator that angered Naoki, has a speechless expression on its face.

The next second, it releases a terrifying aura from its body.

The Diglett, originally causing chaos in the farmland, suddenly feels an invisible pressure and a terrifying aura.

It instantly realizes that there is a very powerful Pokemon here.

In a panic, Diglett emits a squeaky growl and instinctively tries to burrow underground to escape.

But Koraidon wouldn’t give it that chance, would it?

Koraidon stomps on the ground forcefully, causing the tunnels dug by the Diglett to collapse instantly,

Then, it lunges forward and delivers a claw swipe that knocks the Diglett, unable to retreat in time, ”unconscious.”

Having completed its task, Koraidon hides its merits and fame and returns to Naoki’s side.

Naoki then goes forward to check the damage to the farmland.

Fortunately, Butterfree noticed early and the Diglett’s trail hasn’t spread elsewhere. Only a small patch of farmland has been affected, with two corn seedlings being nibbled.

Seeing this, Naoki breathes a sigh of relief.

He walks to the unconscious Diglett, trying to lift it, but despite his efforts, he fails.

The bottom half of the Diglett seems as if it’s firmly welded to the ground.

”What the heck, it’s so hard to dig out?” Naoki is somewhat surprised, no wonder no one knows what a Diglett looks like underground.

Butterfree flies up and asks: ”Mu-ii?”

Naoki thinks it is asking what to do, and after a brief thought, he replies with a cold smile:

”We certainly can’t let it off just like this.”

The ”unconscious” Diglett shivers.

Naoki notices this scene and thinks to himself, wow, it’s even pretending to be knocked out!

Since that’s the case, how could he not play along?

Naoki pretends to be angry: ”This guy is indeed too wicked, it must be punished properly!”

Upon hearing his tone, the unconscious Diglett starts to tremble in fear.

Although it can dig underground to escape, in front of that terrifying Pokemon, it might not necessarily be able to run away.

Naoki glances sideways at the Diglett and says to Koraidon and Butterfree:

”How do you guys think we should punish this bad guy?”

Butterfree responds angrily: ”Mu-ee!”

Koraidon: ”Argh gaa sss...”

Naoki deliberately says: ”If that’s the case, then let’s lock it up and starve it for a month! Roast it with Flamethrower, then freeze it in the ice cellar, and finally throw it into the river!”

When it hears these words, the Diglett trembles even more dramatically.

Devil!

This human is an even scarier devil than the red-skinned Pokemon!

Butterfree imagines the scene and finds it too cruel. Although this Diglett is naughty, its crime is not worth such a punishment.

It speaks up gently: ”Mu-ee...”

”Squeak squeak squeak!” Diglett thinks right, right, it wasn’t malicious, it just wanted to tease the human a bit!

Upon hearing Butterfree’s words, Naoki ”snorts coldly” and follows with:

”Letting it go is not impossible, unless it stays to work for me to offset the damage it caused.”

Next to them, Koraidon observes the duo’s back-and-forth banter, momentarily at a loss for words.

It knows that Naoki was just talking and wouldn’t really do such things.

But Diglett doesn’t think so.

In its view, this human is indeed the most terrifying creature in the world!

Its mind starts racing as it imagines being locked up, roasted, frozen, and finally thrown into the river.

So scary...

Diglett deeply regrets its actions, and just then, it suddenly hears the human say it’s not impossible to let it go.

Upon hearing this, Diglett quickly opens its eyes, nods repeatedly in the ”startled” gaze of Naoki.

”Squeak squeak squeak!”

It’s willing! It’s willing to stay and work to offset the damages it caused!

Naoki: ”...” So easily scared.

He looks at the Diglett that ”voluntarily” stays to work with great interest.

In fact, upon seeing Diglett for the first time, he already had the idea to keep it.

But alas, this Diglett is too mischievous, even playing whack-a-mole with him, so he had no choice but to call Koraidon to scare it.

”Are you really willing to stay and work?” Naoki asks.

The Diglett nods hastily: ”Squeak squeak!”

Naoki is a bit skeptical: ”You wouldn’t be planning to escape when I’m not paying attention, would you?”

The Diglett quickly shakes its head: ”Squeak squeak!”

”Very well then, let me see your sincerity.” Naoki starts to lead the way: ”Follow me! I just happen to have a job for you.”

The Diglett scurries to follow.

Naoki signals with his eyes to Koraidon, telling it to continue playing with Dragonite and Cyclizar.
