Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 195: Chapter 150: The Working Diglett

The method capable of helping Nacli evolve...

The first thing Naoki thought of was to gain experience through battles to achieve training effects and thus help the Pokemon evolve.

How about letting it spar with other Naclstack?

This is indeed a good method.

Generally speaking, the evolution of Pokemon is an accumulation of life levels. When accumulated to a certain degree, a transformation occurs, turning into a more powerful existence.

Therefore, Nacli must be provided with ample nutrition and energy.

This is easy to satisfy. Later, he could make several servings of Rock Salt Fried Soil, which Nacli likes.

The stuff can enhance Nacli’s body strength, making it stronger and healthier.

With this in mind, Naoki had the other four Naclstack first share their evolution insights with Nacli, while he returned indoors to check the contents of a storage cabinet.

He then discovered there was still plenty of Rock Salt at home, but he was out of soil for making Rock Salt Fried Soil.

The soil comes from Zapapico Town and contains various nutritional elements, making it very suitable for Pokemon with Rock and Ground attributes.

Zapapico Town...

Unfortunately, the distance between Zapapico Town and Porto Marinada Town is too great; he couldn’t go there to dig it himself right now and could only purchase it at the Porto Marinada Market.

The food supplies at home were running low, so it was a good opportunity to replenish them.

At 9 a.m., after finishing work on the farm, Naoki said a word to Cyclizar and Koraidon and rode into town on a Gogoat.

They first went to the Porto Marinada Market to buy a bunch of Berries and steaks, then finally went to a soil stall and bought a large bag of soil.

The stall owner, seeing he comes over periodically, smiled and asked, ”Those Pokemon must love eating it, right?”

”Absolutely.” Naoki also nodded with a smile.

Rock Salt Fried Soil doesn’t spoil, so he always prepares a big pot of it and stores it. Every day, he just takes some to feed Nacli.

”Glad they love it!” said the stall owner. ”I heard that the young Larvitar of Tyranitar also eats this kind of soil when they are small!”

”Tyranitar buries its eggs deep underground after laying them, and when the Larvitar hatch, they eat all the surrounding soil before moving to the surface.”

”The more soil of this kind there is, the higher the chance there are Tyranitar and Larvitar inhabiting the area!”

”Really?” Naoki only knew that Larvitar was born underground.

”Yes!” The stall owner looked confident and didn’t forget to warn, ”So if you find this kind of soil in the wild, you must stay away from that area because Tyranitar has a strong territorial sense and it would be trouble if they treat you as an intruder!”

”Makes sense.” Naoki nodded, not giving the matter too much thought.

Just then, someone else came to buy soil, so he turned and left, riding the Gogoat back to the farm.

The farm was still bustling with vibrant activity.

Naoki carried several large bags indoors. He checked the old clock on the wall and, seeing there was still time, began making Rock Salt Fried Soil for Nacli.

The Pokemon were all playing outside, the room was very quiet, with only the sound of a spatula stirring in the pot, and he could hear Pokemon cries coming from outside.

Naoki listened and figured it was Koraidon teaching Cyclizar and Dragonite.

Very soon, a large pot of soil was finished cooking, and Naoki poured it into a basin, placing it on the floor to cool.

At that moment, a Butterfree suddenly flew in from outside, ”Muhyi!”

Naoki turned to look, ”Hm? What’s up?”

Butterfree incredulously pointed outside, like wanting him to go have a look, ”Muhyi!”

Seeing this, Naoki put down his work and followed Butterfree outside.

More accurately, he arrived at the side of the farmland.

This time, without Butterfree’s reminder, he noticed something amiss.

Because the originally flat farmland had very noticeable bulges, as if something had burrowed through from below.

Moreover, heartbreakingly, several saplings in the field had fresh bite marks on them.

”Muhyi...” Butterfree flapped its wings gently, looking very upset.

At this moment, something started moving underground.

Then, a Pokemon with an oval-shaped brown head and red nose burrowed out from below.

That was... Diglett?!

The guess in Naoki’s mind was confirmed at that moment.

It seemed the culprit behind all this was this little Diglett!

Naoki immediately said, ”Butterfree, catch it, use Sleep Powder!”

”Muhyi!”

Seeing the farm damaged, Butterfree was also very angry. It flapped its wings, scattering drowsy spores from above.

Just as it was about to hit, the Diglett seemed to sense something and shrank back underground, quickly moving beneath the surface.

Soon, the Diglett stopped again and emerged from the ground once more.

This time, its eyes were on the person and Butterfree at the edge of the field.

”Squeak squeak squeak!”

Then, it shrank back into the ground, seemingly playing pranks deliberately.

Seeing this, a few lines of frustration appeared on Naoki’s forehead.

Diglett, a Pokemon that likes dark places, spends most of its time underground, living on things like tree roots.

Because the soil is properly turned after Diglett passes through, and their droppings enrich the soil, making it the most suitable farmland for cultivation, many farmers meticulously nurture them.
