His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2350: Chapter 675: Pursuing My Wife Across a Thousand Miles (7)

”It’s really good that she’s coming back!”

Huanhuan’s eyes suddenly gleamed with a hint of mischief.

”You, ah, are truly my little ancestor!”

Xi Meng smirked slightly, though only she and Huanhuan could see it. When she got up, she was as meticulous as ever, and left with others.

Huanhuan turned to look at the teacher, who genuinely looked worried and gave her a heavy sigh.

”Mu Chenghuan, you’re really going to scare your teacher to death, you know!”

Her teacher was still quite young and always really liked her!

Huanhuan showed a mischievous expression, then dashed off like the wind.

Her teacher walked to the doorway, watching Huanhuan’s back in the sunlight, thinking, when you grow up, you really should join the army, otherwise, how could anyone manage you?

Mu Yichen knew that Qin Mu already knew about Huanhuan bullying classmates at school, but his phone remained silent.

Every day, he went to and from work on time, and when the weekend came, he took the two kids out on a fishing trip. The siblings always felt it was boring. That day, Jing Feng was with him, occasionally glancing at the siblings, diligently watching the fishing rods in the corner but showing no interest, then looked at Mu Yichen: ”You’re not having fun yourself, nor are you letting them have fun either! If it’s a boring game like this, you should just call me, why ask them to come along?”

The cool Mu Yichen rolled his eyes, and the little duo sat on their small folding stools, resting their cheeks in their hands, watching him, as if waiting for his answer.

”Hmph! Bored at home too, but on the boat, they can temper their character.”

Mu Yichen raised an eyebrow and said with a smile.

Huanhuan just knew her dad was punishing her for breaking a classmate’s head, but that kid only gave gifts to other female classmates, never to her. She had long been displeased with him. That day, she was in a bad mood, and the classmate deliberately irritated her, so she pushed him. She really didn’t expect the kid to hit the table corner, sigh!

Huanhuan felt it wasn’t her fault.

”Hmph!”

Jing Feng chuckled, having heard about Huanhuan’s matter, then lit a cigarette and asked Mu Yichen: ”This girl probably doesn’t take after you!”

Mu Yichen half-squinted at the distant sea; he wasn’t that wild when he was a kid, fighting everyone he found.

Huanhuan still didn’t know how her dad misunderstood her, but she didn’t bother to explain. She wanted to wait for Mom to come back, then she’d tell her mom, who would believe her no matter what.

Huanhuan thought, this week, she hadn’t video-called Mom. Mom had called several times, but she and her brother didn’t pick up. Actually, Chengcheng wanted to answer, since he doesn’t know how to blame anyone, but Huanhuan wouldn’t let him. She thought Mom needed to come back and apologize to them and promise not to leave anymore.

Why, whenever something happened, did Mom send a video call over? Surely it was to scold her, hmph!

”Are you going to Paris?”

Jing Feng suddenly said, standing sideways watching the tall, upright Mu Yichen leaning in front.

”Not going!”

Mu Yichen, without even thinking, flatly refused.

”You’ve already put the ring on, what can’t you let go of?”

Jing Feng asked, eyeing the ring on his hand.

And Mu Yichen fell silent again, just staring at the desolate coastline ahead. Until he felt a fish on the hook, his deep eyes moved, then he got up to reel it in.

Huanhuan and Chengcheng watched, immediately jumping up from their stools, clapping excitedly: ”Wow, Dad caught a fish, it’s a big one!”

”Wow! Amazing!”

Chengcheng stood on the side, mouth agape, eyes wide open, uttering those four words in disbelief, as if completely shocked, awe-struck, conquered.

Mu Yichen glanced slightly at the siblings, chuckling softly, thinking, was it this easy to impress you?

They still didn’t care much for him two days ago, but that afternoon, they were always circling around him.

Jing Feng saw through it, realized why Mu Yichen brought them to the sea; he had his own clever plan in mind.

That evening, they all ate the fish together. After Jing Feng left, the trio went to a hotel, and the back kitchen made them a fresh fish soup. The white, thick broth made the siblings start to swallow just looking at it.

Mu Yichen grasped a glass of dry white wine for himself, quietly watching the siblings serve themselves the soup.

Chengcheng’s movements were still unskilled, but he didn’t need Huanhuan’s help. The trio sat where Qin Mu often sat, not allowing any disturbance around them. Mu Yichen felt comforted seeing how independent they were, only to be idly reminded of that detestable, heartless woman who left them.
