His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2307: Chapter 665: One Year Later (42)_5

”No! Don’t ask! We’re not going!”

Zhao Huai interrupted her before she could finish.

Qin Mu didn’t say anything, just smiled.

Zhao Huai planned to leave after lunch with Xi Meng, but Mu Yichen had also finished eating. Seeing them about to leave, Qin Mu looked up at them, unsure whether to follow or not.

Xi Meng asked, ”Want to come upstairs? I can make you a coffee?”

Qin Mu thought for a moment, ”Sure!”

There were things to take care of, leaving now wasn’t an option!

Xi Meng was delighted and linked her arm with Qin Mu as they walked ahead.

Behind them, Zhao Huai asked Mu Yichen, ”What time are we going to the factory?”

”Let’s go directly!”

Mu Yichen replied.

Qin Mu was trying to appear nonchalant, but after hearing this, she turned her head and asked softly, ”You’re leaving?”

”There’s a meeting at the factory this afternoon, Xi Meng doesn’t need to go.”

Mu Yichen explained to her, Qin Mu...

Qin Mu drank coffee with Xi Meng and waited until late afternoon. Mu Yichen didn’t return, so she had to leave, disappointed.

Indeed, asking for favors is not easy, especially from Mr. Mu.

——

As night fell, Mu Qingxin and Feng Fanghua were arguing at home. Feng Fanghua didn’t want Chengcheng and Huanhuan to leave, but Mu Qingxin insisted they go back. The two little ones stood between them, watching them argue, glanced helplessly at each other, and then sat on the sofa to wait for the outcome.

”Mom, I promised Qin Mu I would bring the kids back to her. What do you mean by keeping them here?”

”What do you mean I’m keeping them? They’re part of the Mu Family, why should they live with someone with the last name Qin?”

Feng Fanghua argued angrily with her daughter.

”No one said they aren’t called Mu anymore; their surnames haven’t changed. It’s just that my brother is letting Qin Mu take care of them, and now you’re tricking them into the Mu Family and refusing to let them go. My brother would be angry if he found out!”

Mu Qingxin pleaded until she felt her throat was dry.

”Whether he’s angry or not, nobody cares about me anymore, so why should I care if you’re happy? Anyway, the kids are staying tonight.”

”Grandma, even though staying at Auntie’s house feels awkward, we’ve decided to listen to Mom until Dad and Mom reconcile.”

Huanhuan couldn’t take it anymore, sighed like a little adult, and patiently explained her and Chengcheng’s feelings to Feng Fanghua word by word.

Chengcheng nodded, ”Yeah!”

Seeing how much they wanted to follow Qin Mu, Feng Fanghua felt a blockage in her chest, touching it and saying, ”My dear grandchildren, are you both silly? Did your mom give you some kind of enchantment? She’s planning to divorce your dad, and how could someone from the Mu Family live with the Qin Family? Isn’t that right?”

”But Mom used to live with the Mu Family; why can’t we live with the Qin Family? Besides, Auntie and Uncle really like us.”

Huanhuan carefully organized her thoughts and looked at her grandma with pure, puzzled eyes.

Feng Fanghua suddenly had nothing to say, feeling exhausted and smiled helplessly, ”You two little darlings, you’re so lovable, who wouldn’t like you? Besides, they’re sisters of the Qin Family; who knows why they’re coaxing you to stay with them. What if one day your mom wants to change your surname, would you be willing?”

”What is a surname?”

Chengcheng asked dumbly, not completely understanding everything that had been said, and truly didn’t get these two words.

”Dummy, it’s our last name! Both of us are Mu, Mom is Qin!”

Huanhuan gulped, a bit tired from the conversation.

”Oh!”

Chengcheng had long forgotten Grandma’s question and remembered only this query.

Feng Fanghua felt an even bigger headache and coaxed softly, ”Just think of it as pitying your old grandma, stay the night, okay? Just keep grandma company for one night, is that alright?”

Huanhuan and Chengcheng felt a bit sorry for Grandma but after thinking it over, still shook their heads.
