His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2322: Chapter 669: Chasing His Wife Across Ten Thousand Miles (1) Subduing

”No! It’s just that I recently have some things to handle in the city, so I’m here working temporarily.”

Qin Mu explained softly.

”Oh! Well, that’s alright, please sit down. While you weren’t around, my wife kept mentioning you. She’s supervising the staff in the back, let me call her out so she can properly greet you!”

Faced with the boss’s enthusiasm, Qin Mu couldn’t say anything, thinking that she could delay the meal until later.

The owner’s wife was indeed very excited to see her, sitting with her and asking all sorts of questions, but she didn’t forget to let her order food first.

”I heard you haven’t divorced that Mu yet! You’ve just gone to Paris to expand your career, right?”

The owner’s wife eagerly inquired about her situation.

”Um..., actually...”

Qin Mu was a bit at a loss for words, but even before she could say anything, the owner’s wife started talking again.

”You don’t know while you were in Paris, everyone in the city was talking about you, everyone thought you had divorced, and someone even said your husband was with someone with a surname, what was it again?”

”A woman with the surname Chen! Seems like she’s the daughter of some bank president!”

The boss quickly chimed in to think.

”Yes, yes, that’s her, there was gossip all over the phone, but you should have known about this, right? Please don’t blame your husband, such a good man, it’s probably that woman trying to climb onto him, your husband, both I and my husband have met him, definitely not a man with a wandering heart, you have to trust me!”

The owner’s wife patted Qin Mu’s hand, showing she was indeed a considerate and kind elder sister.

Qin Mu smiled helplessly and nodded: ”Mm!”

She initially wanted to tell them she was actually divorcing Mu Yichen, but seeing their enthusiasm, she felt embarrassed to share something disheartening.

”You often looked after our business when you were here, today’s meal is on us. Recently, if you’re working around here, don’t feel shy to come over alone, treat this place like home, when your studio people move back, call them to support our business! By the way, that tall, handsome French young man before, what was his name? David? Yes, yes, that’s him, is he married?”

The elder sister seemed to have a lot to say, finally meeting her.

”Not yet! But he does have a girlfriend!”

Qin Mu patiently answered her.

The staff came to serve the dishes, and the elder sister stayed, even opened two bottles of cocktails, chatting endlessly with Qin Mu. The shop owner soon joined as well.

Looking at the couple, Qin Mu felt truly overwhelmed by their hospitality, with such passion, she had no choice but to sit and chat with them.

”You’ve made quite a name for yourself over the year outside, not only won so many awards in design but shot numerous commercials, oh! Our shop’s TV plays your commercials all the time, those who see it all praise your beauty.”

”Oh! By the way, I brought some small gifts from Paris, I’ll bring them over when I come tomorrow!”

Last time when she went to Paris with Mu Qingxin to shoot commercials, the advertiser gave some small gifts, she initially planned to give them to Xiaomei and others, but they didn’t need them, and this couple was so enthusiastic, Qin Mu thought she’d give them first.

”Ah! We really thank you then, we’re always in this little shop, don’t have much nice stuff.”

The next day Qin Mu brought the gifts over, the couple tried to invite her for a meal again, but Qin Mu politely declined.

She really dared not stay any longer, this couple was too enthusiastic, and at the studio, it was just her, she couldn’t handle it.

——

That day Mu Yichen, Qiao Yi, and Xi Meng were having lunch in a restaurant not far from the office building, Qiao Yi suddenly said: ”I heard Qin Mu went to the studio again?”

Mu Yichen raised his eyes slightly, he had heard the siblings mention it, but he remained silent.

Xi Meng glanced at Qiao Yi, gesturing him to keep quiet.

Qiao Yi couldn’t help himself: ”We’re among friends, it’s fine!”

Xi Meng...

Mu Yichen chuckled, after putting down his chopsticks, leaned back in the chair, teasing with a low voice: ”Among friends, is there anything you want to ask me?”

Xi Meng...

”Haha! You’re generous, well, if I ask you, you must answer me truthfully!”

Qiao Yi felt a bit excited seeing his prepared-for-a-roast demeanor.

Mu Yichen raised his eyebrows, signaling him to go ahead and ask.

”When you were sick those two days, Qin Mu was watching over you, right?”

Qiao Yi’s gaze carried a hint of ambiguity.

”Not allowed?”

Mu Yichen arrogantly retorted.

”Of course not! Just wondering, with you binding her like this, is she really happy?”

Qiao Yi continued to ask.

Mu Yichen suddenly fell silent.

”These aren’t very important, what’s important is the outcome, Qin Mu stayed!”

Listening to Xi Meng got unhappy, let alone Mu Yichen, so she quickly cheered up Mu Yichen.

Mu Yichen, sure enough, regained some spirit.

”You’ve taken her documents, not letting her go, but you should know, she’s already filing for loss and replacement, how long do you think you can keep her?”

Qiao Yi threw another cold bucket over.

Mu Yichen’s face turned really unpleasant, truly hated this guy, thinking how he left the company yet came here to bother him.

”Our marital affairs are none of your business, Qiao!”

Mu Yichen said coldly.

Xi Meng knew Mu Yichen got really annoyed, when Qiao Yi was about to speak again, she kicked him under the table.

Qiao Yi turned to look at Xi Meng, seeing her so angry, he had to swallow the words he was about to say.

”Alright, I’ll just wait to enjoy the show, if you can drag it on for a year or so, then buddy I’ve really seen something new.”

A year or so?

Mu Yichen frowned, thinking, might as well consider himself dead!

After lunch, Mu Yichen coldly said: ”You guys leave first, I’m heading somewhere else!”
