His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2342: Chapter 673: Chasing My Wife Across Thousands of Miles (Part 5)

”The ring is in the drawer, whenever you’re willing to wear it, just put it on, I won’t force you anymore!”

Mu Yichen’s voice carried a hint of defeat, and after speaking, he straightened his back and walked out.

Qin Mu however sat there for a long time, unable to move. The drawer had already been closed by him, but in her heart, it felt like someone had cut open a big gap, chilly and cold. She wanted someone to sew it up again, but for the moment, couldn’t find that person.

This dinner was particularly silent. The ring on Mu Yichen’s hand was presented before the elders, while Qin Mu’s hand was still bare.

Those father and son naturally understood; Mu Yichen had taken a step forward voluntarily, yet Qin Mu was still resolute on divorce.

Feng Fanghua’s back injury would heal eventually. Moreover, Feng Fanghua didn’t want Qin Mu to stay at home, so once Feng Fanghua’s back was healed, Qin Mu would definitely leave.

By then, Mu Yichen would be lonely again.

The old master was worried, Mu Zihao was worried too.

Huanhuan looked at the plain ring that appeared on her father’s hand, then looked at her mother’s hand: ”Mom, I heard that married people have to wear rings, why does Dad have a ring and you have nothing on your hand?”

Qin Mu raised her eyes, surprised to hear a topic about herself brought up by her daughter.

Qin Mu lowered her eyes to look at her own hand and then said softly: ”The ring got dirty, it’s off being cleaned.”

Mu Yichen...

Apart from Huanhuan and Chengcheng not understanding, everyone else was embarrassed. This explanation was really...

Ingenious!

Qin Mu also realized it was shameful to say such things in front of the elders, but she couldn’t think of any other excuse, so she said that.

At night, she and Mu Yichen were at the door saying goodbye to Chengcheng and Huanhuan. The sister and brother duo said they wanted to escort the two back to their room as an act of filial piety, Qin Mu and Mu Yichen couldn’t refuse, and thus they were shut in the same room by the two siblings.

Qin Mu suddenly wanted to leave; she felt she couldn’t stay any longer.

The old master and her father-in-law always hoped the two would reconcile, but Qin Mu felt uncomfortable lying to them, feeling ashamed.

Meanwhile, Mu Yichen always made her uncomfortable.

Over in Feng Fanghua and Mu Zihao’s room, Mu Zihao said to her: ”If Qin Mu gets pregnant again...”

”What? She’s pregnant again? Oh dear!”

Originally lying quietly on the bed, Feng Fanghua became restless after hearing that remark and wanted to get up but immediately pulled her injured area, letting out a painful cry.

”I mean, if, would you be able to accept her?”

Mu Zihao asked her.

Feng Fanghua had to lie back down again, but in her heart said: ”She better not get pregnant, even if she does, I couldn’t accept her, I would only accept the grandson she’s carrying.”

Mu Zihao chuckled: ”Well said!”

”What’s wrong with that? I’d say the same even if she’s standing in front of me; isn’t she quite proud? If she has the ability, don’t get pregnant with our Mu Family’s child, I really don’t regard her highly!”

”Of course, you don’t regard her highly, at present in your eyes, no one compares to Chen Xiaoyi, but does your son see it that way? In your son’s eyes, Qin Mu is a goddess.”

”What nonsense goddess!”

Feng Fanghua retorted.

Mu Zihao laughed, lying alongside her on the pillow, continuing to chat idly, occasionally Feng Fanghua would chuckle as well.

Meanwhile, Qin Mu still slept on the sofa, Mu Yichen lay alone on the bed.

In the dark, Mu Yichen chuckled, Qin Mu heard it from the sofa and asked softly: ”What are you laughing at? Share it with me?”

Having the lights off and not sleeping at night felt pretty boring.

”The ring was sent for cleaning, wasn’t it? How come it’s been over a year and still not clean yet?”

Mu Yichen asked her.

Qin Mu’s face turned red in the dark and then turned over to face away on the sofa: ”That just means the service at that store is poor.”

”Then what would count as good?”

Mu Yichen asked her.

”How would I know?”

Qin Mu felt the topic was weird and didn’t want to continue talking.

Mu Yichen sat up in the darkness, leaned against the headboard, and lit a cigarette.

Smelling the smoke, Qin Mu also sat up: ”I want a puff too!”

Mu Yichen squinting glanced towards the sofa, then walked over, standing before her, handing his own cigarette to her.
