His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2309: Chapter 666: One Year Later (43)_2

Just looking at her own bowl, Qin Mu suddenly felt that ever since coming to the Qin Family, her appetite seemed to have worsened again.

Could it be that the stomach also recognizes the chef?

Speaking of cooking, the auntie at the Qin Family cooks very well too, but...

In the morning, Qin Mu sent WeChat messages to Mu Yichen at the store, five in total, yet Mu Yichen didn’t reply to any of them. Qin Mu concluded one thing: when it comes to WeChat, Mu always ignores her lately.

Fine, sometimes she deliberately doesn’t reply to him either, so she didn’t mind and just called him directly.

Mu Yichen answered immediately, but Qin Mu wasn’t prepared, and with just one ”Hello” from him, her throat felt dry and itchy, and she suddenly didn’t know what to say.

”Do you need something?”

Mu Yichen asked her.

”Uh! That! I want to see you, alone!”

Qin Mu recalled the four of them yesterday; she wasn’t able to say anything, so she wanted to make it clear today. The two of them should meet alone.

”I’m not free today!”

”You have to be free today!”

Qin Mu remembered what Wang Huanyu said.

”I’m sick!”

He was silent for a moment and then suddenly said.

”Sick?”

Qin Mu felt a little shocked, as if someone had given her a hard punch.

”Yeah! I’ve got a fever! I caught a chill playing basketball with Jing Feng and the others last night!”

As Mu Yichen said this, he coughed twice, making it sound like he was genuinely sick.

”Then, should I, or maybe...”

”Or how about you come to the apartment?”

Qin Mu was about to say maybe it’s better to forget it, but she was also worried about messing up Wang Huanyu’s important matters. However... while she was tangled in thoughts, Mu Yichen suddenly made a request.

”Okay! I’ll come over right away!”

Qin Mu reflexively agreed immediately, only to realize afterward that she agreed too quickly, like she was eager to deliver herself to him.

”Then I’ll wait for you!”

Mu Yichen said and hung up the phone.

Yet, Qin Mu’s mood took a long time to calm.

After leaving, Qin Mu drove straight to their apartment. On the way, she passed by a pharmacy, worried that he might not have fever medicine at home, so she quickly stopped to buy some.

By the time she arrived at the apartment, it was almost eleven. She habitually was going to input the password, but then she stopped, remembering something, and rang the doorbell instead.

Then her phone rang, and upon answering, she heard a slightly weak voice: ”Why are you knocking at your own home?”

Qin Mu...

”I’m too weak to open the door for you now, you decide whether to come in or not!”

After Mu Yichen said this, he hung up the phone, sounding somewhat angry.

Qin Mu thought for a moment, realizing that she was being too pretentious. She quickly entered the password, opened the door, and found the entire first floor empty but very warm.

With no one downstairs and after what he said, she knew he must be in the upstairs bedroom. After taking off her jacket and hanging it aside, she carried the medicine upstairs.

Standing at the master bedroom door, Qin Mu still felt a bit uneasy, tense all over. But she thought for a moment and gently opened the door.

The door slowly creaked open, the gap getting wider until she lifted her eyes and saw the man lying on the bed. Mu Yichen was leaning against the headboard, topless and looking half-dead, glaring at her fiercely.

”Could you be any slower?”

Mu Yichen questioned unhappily.

Qin Mu...

Why did his tone make her feel like an irresponsible, erring woman?

Qin Mu’s eyes shifted slightly, her wooden expression finally fading as she stepped inside and closed the door gently, worrying that a draft might make him sicker.

”I bought some fever medicine, do you want to take it now?”

”I haven’t even had breakfast, do you really think I can just take medicine?”

Mu Yichen asked her, still in a bad mood.

Seeing his chest, Qin Mu didn’t know why but she felt it must be burning hot right now. Her heart felt like a little deer was about to leap out. She instinctively turned her eyes away: ”Then, should I get you something to eat first?”

”Yeah!”

Mu Yichen reluctantly agreed.

Qin Mu then subconsciously looked at him again, wondering if her cooking skills would be palatable for him.

”What’s wrong? Worried you’ll poison me?”

Mu Yichen asked her.

Qin Mu’s lips twitched slightly, barely noticeable, then she turned around and went downstairs to make him something to eat.

Half an hour later.

It turns out he might really have been hungry because she made a simple spinach soup, just boiling it in water with an egg. Thinking carefully now, she might have even forgotten to add salt, but Mr. Mu seemed to enjoy it, drinking it happily?

The rice she steamed had too much water, making it more like sticky porridge. Mr. Mu usually hated such sticky stuff, but he actually...
