His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2319: Chapter 668: One Year Later (45) Bound Together_2

”Your daughter’s chess skills have improved recently. Why don’t you try playing with her sometime?”

Qin Mu said to him while playing chess.

Mu Yichen looked at the chessboard and replied with a ”Hmm!”

Qin Mu raised her eyes slightly, seeing him so focused on the chessboard, and thought, I’ve reached this point, at this hour, aren’t you going to ask me to go home?

Aren’t you worried I might encounter some bad person if it’s too late?

Or maybe...

Qin Mu felt a mix of emotions in her heart, but she kept a calm façade.

After two games, it was almost eleven o’clock. Qin Mu suddenly straightened up: ”No more games, it’s late now. You’re still unwell; you should go to bed early!”

Mu Yichen slowly raised his eyes. In his cunning gaze, there was a dark and mysterious look.

Qin Mu felt uneasy looking at him and diverted her gaze: ”Are you feeling any better?”

Pretending to inquire about his health casually.

Mu Yichen remained calm: ”Hmm!”

Upon hearing this word, Qin Mu immediately felt a spark within her: ”Then...”

”But, I’m feeling a bit anxious and short of breath!”

Mu Yichen lowered his gaze and added.

Qin Mu...

Suddenly wanted to bite her tongue, no, bite his, no, rather bite her own.

Qin Mu thought, you don’t seem to be someone anxious and short of breath, do you?

”Should I call the doctor to have a look at you, or perhaps we should go to the hospital for a check-up?”

Qin Mu tentatively asked him.

Mu Yichen contemplated for a moment: ”Tomorrow, tonight you can stay and take care of me one more night.”

Qin Mu...

”Don’t you like sleeping on the sofa? I’ll let you have the sofa tonight, and also...”

Mu Yichen’s deep eyes gazed at her, making her start to panic.

”And also what?”

She asked in a low-pressure tone.

”And also, in my current state, I can’t do much to you, so rest assured and sleep here.”

Whoosh!

Almost spat out a mouthful of old blood!

Later, Mu Yichen went upstairs, took a shower, and got into bed, asking the woman about to lie down on the sofa wrapped in a blanket: ”Aren’t you going to shower?”

”No need! I’ll make do for the night!”

Qin Mu refused dismissively.

Mu Yichen didn’t say much more, after lying down, he turned off the light.

Qin Mu also lay down, gazing at the dark ceiling for a while, then turned to face the sofa, then turned again to look outside.

Mu Yichen lay on the bed, resting one hand on his forehead, occasionally coughing twice.

Qin Mu sat up and asked him in the dark: ”Do you want some water?”

”Sure!”

Sure?

What kind of answer is that?

Qin Mu was annoyed, but still lifted the blanket, got out of bed, and went out to get water for him.

Mu Yichen stayed in the room, taking a long breath.

Mu Qingxin texted him: ”Big brother, how’s the little sister doing this time?”

”Hmm! Keep up the good work!”

Mu Yichen replied to her, then quickly hid his phone under the pillow when he heard footsteps.

Mu Qingxin didn’t reply again, not wanting to disturb their couple’s brief night.

”Water!”

Qin Mu brought over the water and turned on the lamp beside the bed.

Mu Yichen struggled to breathe as he slowly sat up, appearing weak, so Qin Mu sympathetically sat beside him to support him.

Mu Yichen leaned against her shoulder, glanced at her: ”Thank you for the hard work!”

Qin Mu...

Mu Yichen drank the water, then looked at her and said: ”Isn’t your heart troubled?”

Qin Mu...

”Should I say thank you, since you don’t love me anymore?”

Mu Yichen’s deep gaze lingered on her, words unspoken...

Qin Mu...

”Why aren’t you saying anything?”

Mu Yichen asked her.

Qin Mu kept her eyes down, turned to put the cup down, then turned off the lamp, intending to get up.

Her hand was suddenly pressed down by someone, and in the darkness, her heart could finally beat wildly and irregularly.

She really had no words for what he said.

However, if he truly understood, and could distinguish clearly, he shouldn’t have kept her here playing the role of a nurse.

The Mu Family has so many people to take care of him, she really shouldn’t be the one staying here.

As for love...

Qin Mu clearly remembered, she never said anything about loving him.

Qin Mu suddenly felt grateful, grateful to her past self, for being able to hold back from saying those three words even when their relationship was so good, allowing her to not be left with no options in front of him now.

”You should rest well, don’t overthink it.”

Qin Mu whispered to him, patiently.

”You really look like you’re taking care of an old, weak, sick person now.”

Mu Yichen couldn’t hold back anymore, sarcastically speaking in the darkness, perhaps mocking himself as well.

This desperate attempt to keep her, what’s the point?

But at this moment, he held onto her hand and wouldn’t let go.

Qin Mu sat on the side, tried several times to pull away without success, later somewhat frustrated, lowered her head, letting him hold on.

Mu Yichen waited a while, seeing her not moving for a long time, finally lay back down.

Perhaps because the room was completely dark at this time, his hand held hers, then he closed his eyes.

Later, Qin Mu heard his even breathing, her eyes gradually looking at his stern face.

She didn’t know why, she reached out to touch his face, then sighed helplessly.

Maybe the sigh was one of concession, or even affection.

Only, she herself didn’t know.

Later she returned to the sofa to lie down, but didn’t fall asleep until the latter part of the night.

——

When she woke up the next day, what time was it?

Outside was overcast, no, it was raining, she heard the sound of rain pattering against the window, as she slightly moved her hand, discovered it was weighed down, her wrist seemed tied to something.

Looking down...

His necktie was wrapped around both their hands.

Qin Mu...

When did he become so childish?

Or has he always been this childish within, and she just never noticed?

He actually...

She was sleeping so well on the sofa, he actually carried her to the bed and then tied their wrists together.

Qin Mu quietly unwrapped the necktie, but just as she was about to get up, she was trapped by his arm.

Qin Mu lay beside him, not daring to breathe heavily, only wishing to escape this place, but...

She glanced at him several times; he seemed to be asleep, yet every time she tried to escape, he would pull her closer.

Qin Mu felt layers of moisture in her breath, heavy, making her feel suffocated.

What’s called boarding a pirate ship?

Experiencing it once more.

She lay there, despairing, listening to his breaths, the rain outside, gradually, drifting back into a dream.

Probably because she slept too late last night, and today was so fitting a day for sleeping, plus being held captive like this, no longer thinking about escaping, she quickly fell asleep again.

While Mu Yichen’s dark eyes slowly opened.

Mu Yichen got up, showered, now refreshed, drank a glass of water, stood at the window for a while, then got back into bed.

Qin Mu just felt a draft enter her chest, unconsciously moved, turned, and faced a warm chest, her own feeling something pressed against it, uncomfortably frowning as she opened her eyes...

When her eyes clearly saw it was someone’s hand on her chest, when she instinctively lifted her eyes to clearly see his sharp, nearly perfect features, when she regained her thoughts, she instinctively pushed him away, anger flaring.

Yet quickly she was pulled back, directly into his embrace: ”You can’t escape today!”

”You...”

”You’ve raised a tiger that has now turned against you!”

Mu Yichen lightly laughed, gently reminding her.
