His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2099: Chapter 596: Understood, My Dear Husband (Part 6)

”You have to promise us not to snitch!”

Qiao Yi suddenly said seriously to Yang Qin.

Yang Qin...

”Right! When Xi Meng was here, she also covered for us. You’re taking over her job, so you have to keep our secrets like she did. We don’t treat you as an outsider, that’s why we’re talking in front of you.”

Zhao Huai added.

Yang Qin thought, I’d rather not hear anything.

Feeling frustrated, yet unable to react, fortunately, within two minutes, the managers arrived one after another, and these two behaved quite properly in front of them.

After the meeting, Zhao Huai and Qiao Yi came out, Qiao Yi finished a call with Mu Yichen on her cell: ”We’ve finished the meeting, aren’t you coming over?”

”I’ve already said! Not coming today!”

”Alright! Let’s have dinner tonight then? The guys haven’t gathered for ages, you can’t refuse this one, right?”

”Okay!”

Qiao Yi hung up the phone after Mu Yichen agreed, though she really liked Mu Yichen’s discontented expression: ”Braving such heavy rain last night, you guys are really daring.”

”Hmph! This bit of rain can’t stop our car, also with you around, how could I not come back?”

Mu Yichen’s dark eyes were so swift, Qin Mu always felt he seemed to see through her little thoughts.

She knew she was being petty, but as his woman, what’s wrong with being a bit petty?

Her man and the woman who likes him sat in the same car.

”Why say it like that? Seems like I forced you to come back? I didn’t even dare to casually text you.”

Afraid you might think I’m anxious after reading it, then rush back despite the heavy rain, honestly, being stuck outside is pretty cold.

”Yes! It’s rare you took the initiative to message me last night, but it’d be even better if you called in the future.”

Mu Yichen’s voice gradually softened.

”Why?”

Qin Mu curiously asked him.

”Hearing your voice makes me more at ease.”

Mu Yichen’s sudden tenderness, that deeply affectionate gaze, made Qin Mu momentarily overwhelmed, she had to lower her eyes to look at her phone, needing a while to focus and see the contents clearly.

”Hungry?”

Mu Yichen asked.

”Of course! Since morning till now, aside from going to the bathroom, did I go anywhere? Not a drop of water, nor a bite of food.”

”I’ll cook something, do you want to get up later, or should I bring it up?”

”I’ll get up!”

Later, Qin Mu managed to get up and while brushing her teeth, her phone rang, she went back to answer it, seeing it was Gongzhi Ping’an, she hesitated for a moment, then answered with toothbrush in hand: ”Hello?”

”Free tonight?”

”No!”

Qin Mu instinctively replied, looking down she saw the toothbrush in her hand, then walked back to the bathroom.

”Why do you sound like...”

”I’m brushing my teeth!”

Qin Mu could only tell the truth, hoping that he’d hang up soon and let her finish brushing.

”At this time? Just got up?”

Gongzhi Ping’an couldn’t help laughing a bit, thinking, he never expected his little sister Xiaomu would be a sleeper-in, how adorable?

”I won’t bother you freshening up, let’s chat later!”

Gongzhi Ping’an hung up, Qin Mu put the phone on the sink, thinking, what’s there to talk about?

Why call her randomly?

Suddenly worried, will he start calling her frequently?

She’s really the type that finds it annoying if a guy calls her.

Other women hope for men to pursue them, but Qin Mu never longs for it because one Mu Yichen already fills her heart.

Just, Qin Mu remembered Gongzhi Ping’an bringing colleagues to her shop yesterday, she hasn’t told Mu Yichen about it yet.

Qin Mu distractedly brushed her teeth, the more she thought about it, the more concerned she got.

Of course worried Mu Yichen wouldn’t take kindly to it, after all, Mu Yichen is the type that never shows mercy, just imagining when she tells him about Gongzhi Ping’an visiting her shop yesterday, she could see his furious face, questioning why Gongzhi Ping’an came to see her.

But if she doesn’t say it today, and Xiang Hang mentions it to him tomorrow, then she...

She’d definitely face an even worse fate.

When she went downstairs, it happened that Mu Yichen was ready with dinner, planning to call her, seeing her descend in a white dress, he suddenly found her very pleasing to the eye, in a good mood: ”Just in time.”

”Of course! We’re so in sync, wow! It’s all my favorites!”

Since she had things to say, Mrs. Mu fully displayed her acting skills.

Mu Yichen didn’t mind, feeling it’s enough that she likes it.

He pulled out a chair to sit, served soup for her, handed it over.

”Thank you! Want me to serve you soup?”

Between a couple, serving each other soup is like a warm gesture.

”No need!”

Mu Yichen smiled, finding her a bit overly eager, when she just said she was dying in bed, now she could help serve soup? So no need.

Mu Yichen was thinking about good times, therefore, he didn’t carefully analyze Qin Mu’s current demeanor, Qin Mu, though her eyes were lowered, was earnestly drinking soup, yet definitely thinking how to bring up yesterday’s matter without angering him.

”Today both parents went to the pharmacy, where did Grandpa go? Maybe he’s gone to Jixiang Restaurant with Grandpa Jing for a meal again?”

”Not sure where they’re dining, but they do love the dishes there.”

Mu Yichen thought for a moment and replied.

”Oh! You knew, then do you know Grandpa Jing loves opera?”

”Yes!”

Why suddenly mention Grandpa Jing?

Mu Yichen slightly dubious glanced at her, Qin Mu smiled at him, a particularly enthusiastic smile.

Mu Yichen abandoned thinking about other matters, studied her: ”Why suddenly bring up the Jing family’s elder today?”

”No reason, just suddenly knew he loves opera, his nature, I thought he’d only enjoy watching swordplay or something.”

Qin Mu said.

”Jing Feng once complained to me, saying his grandpa loves opera the most, always likes to take him along.”

Mu Yichen recalled childhood in Paris, Jing Feng often mentioned this when contacting him.

”Turns out he’s liked opera for so many years, since you knew why didn’t you tell me earlier? Made me book such a nice private room in vain, by the way, do you know which seat Grandpa Jing favors most?”

Qin Mu felt a bit angry, somewhat sad, a bit curious, speaking this sentence, her expressions were rich enough that Mu Yichen felt somewhat guilty.
