His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2061: Chapter 588: I’m Back

”I’m back, why haven’t you showered yet?”

Qin Mu closed the door and went straight to the wardrobe to look for pajamas.

”Ah! Mu Yichen, what are you doing?”

Qin Mu suddenly found herself lifted off the ground, scared to death.

”Mu Yichen!”

Qin Mu still felt strange; she couldn’t recall anything bad happening today, so why was he feeling this way?

”I definitely can’t guess the reason, why don’t you tell me?”

Qin Mu turned around, gently cupped his face, and softly asked him.

Mu Yichen felt the warmth of her palm and placed her hand behind his back.

”Don’t talk! Sleep!”

Qin Mu...

He seemed really tired, but...

”Brother Chen!”

Qin Mu couldn’t help but call him sentimentally, childishly, in the way he liked the most when they were kids.

Mu Yichen chuckled: ”It’s bedtime, silly!”

Qin Mu...

Later, he did fall asleep, but Qin Mu found herself unable to sleep.

They had been together for most of the day today; he just spent a few hours in the office in the afternoon.

Qin Mu wondered whether she should ask Qiao Yi or Zhao Huai.

But on second thought, she’d rather not; she was Mu Yichen’s wife, surely she could hear a reasonable and truthful explanation from him.

Later, he slept deeply, and Qin Mu was also infected by his sleepiness, quickly falling asleep in his arms.

——

Morning, heavy rain was approaching.

When Mu Yichen got up, he felt an intense headache, instinctively reaching to find the woman by his side, only to grasp empty air.

Mu Yichen turned to look at Qin Mu’s side, finding no trace of her, subconsciously furrowing his brows, and the next moment got up to look for her.

Just as he stood up, perhaps in too much haste, a wave of dizziness hit him, forcing him to pause and sit at the bedside, slowly regaining his bearings.

Qin Mu walked in from outside with a cup of water, seeing him at the bedside with his head down like he wasn’t feeling well, she immediately went over.

”Have a sip of water first!”

Mu Yichen heard her voice, finally eased a bit, but instead of taking the cup, he grabbed her wrist.

”Up so early?”

Mu Yichen looked up, his brows still furrowed.

Qin Mu held the clear, clean glass with one hand, while the other hand went up to pinch his brow: ”It’s not that I’m up early, but that you’re up late. Drink the water first.”

Mu Yichen didn’t take the glass, opting to have her feed him.

Qin Mu, seeing him like that, didn’t argue with him and simply fed him water.

After drinking, he seemed better; Qin Mu then asked him: ”Now you have two choices!”

”Hmm!”

Mu Yichen chuckled, interested in hearing Mrs. Mu talk about choices.

”One is to go wash up first, then go downstairs for breakfast, and we talk later.”

”Hmm! What’s the second?”

”The second is for you to tell me right now what happened last night, why suddenly so...”

Qin Mu hesitated to finish, but he looked at her, smiling playfully, and asked: ”Suddenly so? So what?”

”Stop pretending to be dumb!”

Qin Mu, seeing his expression, understood he definitely knew what she meant.

”Actually, it’s nothing; just been a while since we played a role-playing game!”

Mu Yichen suddenly grinned mischievously.

So, what play were they acting out last night?

”What role were you playing last night? A mute devil?”

Qin Mu couldn’t help but voice her doubt.

”Did I really not make a sound last night?”

Mu Yichen also questioned, clearly remembering.

Qin Mu...

”Go, go wash up!”

Qin Mu blushed, starting to stutter a bit.

Mu Yichen watched her seriousness, seeming to want to listen to her words.

No peck?

An hour later, the pair went downstairs, one unhurried and expressionless, the other somewhat awkward and stiff.

”Good morning, Grandpa!”

Thankfully, only the old man was left at home, and Qin Mu headed to the sofa to greet him.

”Hmm! You two go have breakfast first, your parents took the little ones and left already!” The old man was quite used to their antics, so calmly arranged things without batting an eye.

”Alright!”

Qin Mu replied, thankful Grandpa didn’t look up at her just then.

As she turned, she noticed Mu Yichen standing on her side, slyly watching her, and Qin Mu instinctively reached to grab his arm, twisting it, but unfortunately, his arm was too solid, not hurting him but instead hurting her fingers a bit.

”Good morning, Young Master and Young Madam! Breakfast is warmed up for you. I’ll help bring it out!”

The auntie was about to leave but turned back to fetch breakfast when she saw them enter the dining room.

Mu Yichen easily dispelled Qin Mu’s doubts, though Qin Mu couldn’t help but keep watching him; Mu always seemed full of energy!
