His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2066: Chapter 589: Forced to Stay in the Bedroom (Second Update)

”Shall I accompany you?”

”With so many people at home, do I really need you, kid, to come with me?”

The old man glanced at Mu Yichen and stood up, clasping his hands behind his back, and walked out.

Mu Yichen smiled wryly and couldn’t help but glance upstairs.

Qin Mu was forcibly locked in the bedroom and couldn’t go out. He wondered what she was up to at the moment, so Mu Yichen got up and went upstairs.

In the bedroom, Qin Mu was lying on the bed, playing with his phone, her seductive yet sharp eyes looking at the man as he entered the room.

”Did someone call?”

”Yes! From the office building. You should call them back!”

Qin Mu lazily pinched the corner of the phone and handed it over.

Mu Yichen looked at her shining eyes, but his gaze didn’t leave her when he took the phone.

Qin Mu’s phone also rang, and Mu Yichen went to the window to answer his call; the rain had just stopped, and the sun had risen.

On the bed, Qin Mu answered Xiaomei’s call and laughed lightly, ”Didn’t we say before that once we terminate the contract, we wouldn’t cooperate again?”

”That’s what I said, but the two visitors are quite insistent and say they must see you.”

Xiaomei stood at the door, sneaking a peek into the guest lounge.

”Just tell them that when we signed the termination contract, it was made crystal clear—I will absolutely not cooperate with them again.”

Qin Mu anticipated this day would come; these people were fickle and thought she was getting divorced, so they didn’t want to cooperate. Now that she didn’t divorce, why should she cooperate with them?

They could come and go as they pleased, but whether they come back or not is up to her.

”Alright! I’ll give it another try. If I talk nicely and they still don’t leave, I’ll just have to get tough!”

Xiaomei thought, you have to deal with shameless people shamelessly.

”Okay!”

Qin Mu agreed.

Mu Yichen also ended his call when she hung up, and turned to ask her, ”Something at the studio?”

”The people who terminated the contract with me recently want to cooperate again today.”

Qin Mu let out a dry laugh and shook her head helplessly; what on earth was going through their minds?

——

After hanging up the call, Xiaomei stood at the door for a while, then slowly turned around and exchanged a glance with Yanzi, who nodded, prompting her to walk in.

”Mr. Li, Mr. Huang, I’ve called, but our Ms. Qin still holds the same stance, so please don’t make it difficult for a working person like me. Hurry and find another partner.”

”What do you mean by that? Why not just give us Mrs. Mu’s phone number, and we can contact her directly?”

The plump lady sitting on the couch clasped her hands and looked at Xiaomei.

”We only have Ms. Qin here, not Mrs. Mu. Besides, when you terminated the contract, we made it clear that we wouldn’t collaborate again. What’s the point now?”

With Qin Mu’s permission, Xiaomei naturally became more relaxed.

”We were forced back then! Miss Chen, you see, people are inherently selfish, aren’t they? We have to think of ourselves, don’t we?”

”Yes! I didn’t stop you from thinking of yourselves!”

Xiaomei stood there with her phone, feeling extremely annoyed by the opportunistic and repulsive behavior of these people.

”Young lady, why are you so unreasonable at your age? Get your Mrs. Mu here. We need to discuss some things with her face to face.”

The lady coaxed Xiaomei again.

”I told you, we don’t have a Mrs. Mu here.”

Xiaomei was even more displeased; she had repeated it several times, yet they kept referring to Qin Mu as Mrs. Mu. In ordinary settings, such a title might be fine, but here, it clearly showed they didn’t take Qin Mu seriously; they only wanted to sign a contract because Qin Mu was the lady of the Mu Family, didn’t they?

Since they didn’t value Qin Mu’s skills, there was no reason for the studio to continue wasting time with them.

”Alright, alright! No Mrs. Mu, only Ms. Qin, right? Then please bring her out so we can have a proper chat. We made mistakes, and we’re here to apologize, is that okay? We came with the sincerest apologies; you can’t just refuse to let us meet her, can you?”

”Well, I’m really sorry! You indeed won’t be able to see her; she hasn’t been here for a week.”

Xiaomei wasn’t pleased with the woman’s chatter, so she didn’t bother to put on a friendly face.

”She hasn’t been here for a week?”

”Then, Miss Chen, could you tell us where we might find her?”

Finally, the man spoke, his tone much calmer than the woman’s.

”On a regular basis, I’m not sure where she goes. But today, she’s resting at home. However, I advise you not to go to the Mu Family; Mr. Mu hates when people bother our Ms. Qin, especially those who break promises and are opportunistic like you. Going there definitely won’t end well.”

Xiaomei was extremely annoyed, just wishing they would leave quickly. She thought, considering their status and position, they weren’t even qualified to enter the Mu Family residence.

Yet, unexpectedly, in a little over an hour, they reached the Mu Family’s entrance.

Qin Mu and Mu Yichen, playing Gobang on the bed, heard an auntie knocking at the door. Qin Mu asked, ”What’s the matter?”

”Young Madame, someone outside is looking for you, claiming to be your clients!”

The auntie replied from the door.

Clients?

Qin Mu frowned, gently placing the white piece on the board.

”Just say I’m not here!”

Qin Mu thought these people were annoying, but she needed to focus on the game, so she replied nonchalantly.

”Yes!”

After responding, the auntie went downstairs to report.

However, Feng Fanghua returned with the children and happened to spot the two people standing at their door with baggage.

”Old Zhang, stop the car and ask who they are!”

”Yes, ma’am!”

The driver stopped the car, opened the window slowly, and leaned out with some irritation: ”Who are you looking for?”

”We’re business partners with Mrs. Mu, here specifically to see her.”

Feng Fanghua, holding her grandchildren, listened to the reply and thought this Mrs. Mu must be Qin Mu; how did they find their home?

”Ma’am?”

The driver turned around to ask for instructions.

”Let them in!”

Feng Fanghua didn’t think twice, allowing the driver to let them follow the house car inside.

But after the two people entered, they took ages to reach their main house door, and both of them started feeling guilty.

”No wonder Chen Xiaomei said not everyone can enter the Mu Family. From outside it looks like a home, but without knowing better, you’d think it’s a palace.”

That lady whispered to the man.

”No matter what, we must make that woman Qin Mu agree to collaborate with us again today.”

The man replied.

”Yes, yes!”

The woman agreed.

The two of them walked in carrying bags, while Feng Fanghua, leading the children, had already reached the door. After a glance outside, she led the children inside.

The two little ones, upon reaching home, first drank some water and then swiftly ran to the playroom.

Usually, Feng Fanghua would ask Huanhuan to do his homework first, but since tomorrow was Saturday and they had guests at home, she didn’t bother. She just instructed the auntie, ”Is Qin Mu home? Go and call her down, tell her it’s her clients looking for her.”

”Huh?”

The auntie was stunned; she had clearly turned them away for Qin Mu.

”What ’huh’? I ran into them at the door; they seem quite sincere, have her come down and meet them.”

Feng Fanghua said again, casting an impatient glance at the auntie, displeased with being questioned.

”Yes!”

Feeling anxious, the auntie quickly went upstairs again.
