His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2051: Chapter 584: Willing to Be a Frog at the Bottom of a Well (Part 5)

Qin Mu later found a quiet place to read. Around noon, she received a call from Paris. After taking the call, she thought for a bit, then called back.

”I won’t be going this time. You go with Su Lin. I’ll call over there to inform them about the situation.”

Mu Yichen definitely wouldn’t want her to go. She had just returned recently and didn’t want to make Mu Yichen unhappy again, so she had to make this decision.

At noon, Qin Mu had lunch at the restaurant across the street with Wang Li, Xiang Hang, and Qin Mingzhu. Each of the four had their own thoughts.

Xiang Hang sat beside the three of them, keeping his head down and eating seriously. Qin Mu glanced at him and then at Wang Li. These two hadn’t reconciled yet; could it be that they broke up?

Qin Mingzhu whispered in Qin Mu’s ear, ”Aren’t they lovers?”

Qin Mu didn’t say anything, just gave Qin Mingzhu a look, telling her to stay quiet.

After Xiang Hang finished eating, he left first. Qin Mingzhu straightened her posture and then asked Wang Li quietly, ”Sister Li, did you argue with Brother Hang?”

”Ah? No! We broke up!”

Wang Li smiled slightly, but it was an awkward smile, not out of courtesy.

Break up?

Qin Mingzhu blinked and then looked at Qin Mu.

Qin Mu remained silent, afraid of saying something wrong.

”Qin Mu, I want to resign!”

Wang Li put down her chopsticks. She had thought about it for a long time. After breaking up, they still face each other every day, and she didn’t want it to stay that way.

So she firmly proposed her resignation to Qin Mu.

Qin Mu looked at her, then gently set her chopsticks aside, asking her quietly, ”Have you thought it through?”

”Yes!”

Wang Li nodded.

”If you’ve thought it through, I won’t stop you!”

Qin Mu agreed.

Wang Li was a bit puzzled by Qin Mu’s quick decision to let her leave, considering that if she truly left, such a large fashion store would temporarily be without a manager.

Qin Mingzhu patted Qin Mu: ”Hey! She’s your store manager! If she leaves, what about the store?”

”But Sister Li has already thought it through. If I keep her, what will that make me?”

Qin Mu retorted to Qin Mingzhu.

Qin Mingzhu...

”Qin Mu, that’s not what I meant. I just...”

”No need to explain. I understand you!”

Qin Mu exchanged a look with Wang Li, smiling and indicating she didn’t need to explain further.

Wang Li felt increasingly guilty, knowing that resigning this way was improper.

”I’m not going to the studio anyway, so I’ll handle things here. You can leave anytime.”

After Qin Mu finished speaking, she got up and left the room. Although she acted gracefully and composed, her dispassionate demeanor left Wang Li feeling unsettled.

”Sister Li, you’re truly being irresponsible!”

Qin Mingzhu went after Qin Mu, trying to persuade her to keep Wang Li, considering how many years Wang Li had been managing the store, and if she left, the store would surely fall into chaos. While Qin Mu excels at design, she’s admittedly lacking in other areas.

Wang Li sat there looking out the window. Xiang Hang, along with Qin Mu and Qin Mingzhu, walked together, leaving her with a lump in her throat. She thought that perhaps this was for the best. Despite feeling guilty towards Qin Mu, at least she could conclude a relationship and avoid facing Xiang Hang daily, enabling her to forget more quickly.

Wang Li inadvertently chuckled, thinking that she should never talk about boyfriends again!

It’s truly too painful!

Xiang Hang stood and smoked a cigarette after leaving Qin Mu’s office. Upon Wang Li’s return, she saw him standing there, seeming a bit downcast. When Xiang Hang saw her, he had just finished inhaling a puff and casually let his hand rest at his side, avoiding eye contact as she approached.

Xiang Hang hadn’t reached out to her lately, fearing he couldn’t provide her with the life she wanted. He worried his job wasn’t secure enough, although it was the most comfortable job for him. However, many perceive the profession of a bodyguard as highly dangerous.

Xiang Hang genuinely feared hindering her, yet she decided to resign because of it.

”Wang Li!”

She was about to go in when she suddenly heard Xiang Hang’s voice, prompting her to instinctively turn and look at him, her voice slightly shaky: ”What is it?”

”Let’s talk!”

Finally, after being at a stalemate for so long, he approached Wang Li to talk.

Wang Li thought to herself that since she was resigning, she’d make a formal break, then leave this city, so be it.

”Okay!”

Wang Li agreed, then stood with him by the door.

Inside, several idle staff members couldn’t resist looking outside. Certainly, Qin Mu and Qin Mingzhu were equally curious, gazing outside.

Actually, everyone hoped this couple would reconcile.

Later, Wang Li shed tears, discreetly wiping them away, as the long-hidden grievances surged forward, welling up to her throat. Though she didn’t break down like a young girl, she persistently wiped away the streaks of tears beneath her eyes.

Unknown what Xiang Hang said again, she cried even harder.

”Think carefully. If you can accept it, we’ll get our marriage certificate tomorrow. If you can’t, there’s no need to resign. I’ll stay out of your sight and not trouble you.”

With that, he extinguished his cigarette and headed toward the other direction where his car was.

Wang Li stood there, persistently watching his silhouette, her tears relentless, yet she bit her lip forcefully to prevent making any unnecessary noise.

Turns out, she was already in his heart.

Turns out, he understood everything.

”Sis, will they be okay?”

Qin Mingzhu couldn’t help but ask Qin Mu.

”Let’s hope so!”

Qin Mu thought. Of course, she hoped the two could talk things out, but who knows if Brother Hang would make the right move.

Wang Li soon turned around to go inside, causing the crowd to disperse hastily. Wang Li hesitated upon seeing several store staff rushed inside and then checked the rest area. Qin Mu was calmly browsing her phone while Qin Mingzhu’s eyes darted around, unclear what she was looking at – were they all secretly watching?

Sigh!

Was it really easy for her to leave JY?

Not to mention the effort she invested in JY, just considering Qin Mu’s years of support, even though Wang Li had been managing the store. If Qin Mu hadn’t given her the opportunity...

How many bosses are reluctant to relinquish all control to their store manager?

Wang Li had encountered this scenario countless times.

”Qin Mu, I’ll head to the office to work for a while.”

”Okay!”

Qin Mu raised her eyes slightly, sensing Wang Li’s hesitation but nodded calmly.

After Wang Li left, the composed Qin Mu took a long sigh of relief, and Qin Mingzhu was equally nervous: ”Sis, did you see anything?”

”Keep waiting! You go back to the store; I need to head to the office too!”

Qin Mu began to drive everyone away.

Qin Mingzhu...

”Why aren’t you leaving?”

Qin Mu noted her reluctance to leave, but what could she tell Qin Mingzhu now? Every decision was only final when the person involved made it.

”Alright! I’m leaving now!”

Qin Mingzhu had to go, thinking she needed to feed her son soon, so she had to leave.

Qin Mu spent the entire afternoon in her office drawing plans. The children’s designs were already completed and sent to the factory, and they were now in production, sure to be ready soon.

It was a pity Mu Qingxin had left, otherwise, the three little ones wearing matching outfits would undoubtedly be thrilled. Nevertheless, she intended to send them to Zifeng, who would call her ”Auntie” when he returned. That child is so attached to her, and she especially cherished Zifeng.

As the sun set, a dignified black car parked outside the JY Store.
