His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2079: Chapter 593: Why Did I Help Her? (Second Update)

Yang Qin smiled and said.

”Actually, I watched Qin Mu grow up when she was little. But after she went abroad, don’t mind us protecting her so much now, the year she just came back, I was the one who disliked her the most.”

Qiao Yi remembered some things from the past and opened up to Yang Qin.

”Really?”

Yang Qin responded with feigned curiosity.

”Wasn’t it just that the woman he liked fancied Brother Yichen? He mistakenly thought Brother Yichen was going to marry someone else. Who knew when he returned from a business trip, he’d hear that Qin Mu had come back and was hanging out with Brother Yichen all day, and Brother Yichen had stated he’d marry Qin Mu.”

Zhao Huai recalled things from five years ago, still vividly in his memory.

”That’s right!”

Qiao Yi thought about it and laughed bitterly.

Back then, he was secretly in love with Jing Qing, Jing Qing was his everything.

”Old Qiao has liked other girls!”

Yang Qin asked him curiously, with a hint of teasing and jest.

”The secret crush never became real, now she’s someone else’s wife, and I have Lady Xi Meng.”

Qiao Yi shook his head, sighing.

How many stupid things did he do for Jing Qing back then?

He couldn’t keep count! He only remembered Mu Yichen and Qin Mu often tormented him for Jing Qing, and he felt powerless.

”I can’t imagine what Old Qiao was like when he liked other girls.”

Yang Qin looked at Qiao Yi, as if pondering what Qiao Yi was like when he liked Jing Qing.

”Simply put, stupid as hell!”

Zhao Huai quipped.

”Kid, I’m your brother!”

You have to be careful when speaking to your brother!

Zhao Huai quickly raised his hand and patted his shoulder: ”Qin Bro, I was wrong! I shouldn’t have exposed your faults!”

Qiao Yi...

Yang Qin burst into laughter again: ”You two are really interesting.”

”Is your wound serious? If not, maybe go to the hospital for a check-up, then go back home and rest for a few days.”

Zhao Huai said to her.

”I won’t be able to work for a few more months anyway, and my job isn’t exactly tiring, I’ll just endure it. It should be better in a few days.”

Yang Qin said softly.

In the afternoon, Zhao Huai and Qiao Yi didn’t wait for Yang Qin to return to work and went ahead to Mu Yichen’s office, and sure enough, Mu Yichen was working overtime in the office to leave early and accompany his wife.

”Because of Zhang Hongyun, you’re really not going to do anything?”

Qiao Yi walked to his desk first, resting his hands on the edge and asked.

”Yes! Zhang Hongyun did these things, the most she could be charged with is harassment, but Yang Qin has only been in Rongcheng for a few months and keeps getting tormented by that woman. Are we really not going to intervene?”

Zhao Huai couldn’t stand it any longer.

”How do we intervene? What is Zhang Hongyun to you? Or what is Yang Qin to you?”

Mu Yichen looked up at them, put down the pen in his hand, clasped his hands together, and asked them patiently.

Zhao Huai and Qiao Yi exchanged glances again, unable to understand Mu Yichen’s intentions.

”When Yang Qin just returned, you were always helping her, helping wherever you could, so why when it comes to this life-threatening matter, do you ignore it? Are you afraid Qin Mu will be angry?”

Qiao Yi had an impulsive nature and couldn’t help but question him.

”You also said help where I could, but how should I help with their feud with Zhang Hongyun?”

Mu Yichen lowered his head again to look at the documents, nonchalantly asked.

Zhao Huai stood at the side, speculating about Mu Yichen’s thoughts, and remained silent.

”She’s just coming back to work for a year, and already her life is at risk. Yichen, you’re not the type to sit idly by!”

Qiao Yi felt heartbroken seeing Mu Yichen’s indifference, he was truly sad.

”Who brought her here?”

Mu Yichen asked and then looked up at Qiao Yi.

”...”

Qiao Yi suddenly couldn’t speak, feeling like a thousand words were forcefully stuck in his throat and knocked back into his stomach.

”Since she’s someone you brought here, I think Young Master Qin has a responsibility, right?”

Mu Yichen’s dark eyes stared at him directly, indeed looking indifferent and heartless.

Zhao Huai reflexively glanced at Qiao Yi, Mu Yichen calling Qiao Yi Young Master Qin meant he was pushing the matter to Qiao Yi.

Looking at Qiao Yi, this time he was completely stunned.

”If someone has to stand up for her, then you’re closer, more suitable. Do I need to spell it out for you? And you too!”

Mu Yichen said, looking from Qiao Yi to Zhao Huai.

”Understood!”

Zhao Huai responded.

”Understand what? I don’t understand anything!”

Qiao Yi instinctively glanced at Zhao Huai, confused, feeling suddenly like he was the one being roasted.

”Brother Yichen means he’s not suitable to help Yang Qin further, so as colleagues, you and I can step in to assist.”

Zhao Huai explained to Qiao Yi.

Qiao Yi...

”Alright! I’ll handle it!”

Qiao Yi thought about it, he’d been tangled up in Yang Qin’s situation these days, but had never thought about stepping up to help her. Since Mu Yichen’s involvement could cause misunderstandings, then he’ll do it!

After all, Yang Qin had no feelings for him.

Qiao Yi thought it over and then left, Zhao Huai stood in front of Mu Yichen: ”Brother Yichen, Old Qiao seems a bit unhappy.”

”The unhappiness is temporary, remind him often!”

Mu Yichen’s tone softened.

”Alright! Then I’ll go check on him!”

Zhao Huai nodded, then also left the office.

Mu Yichen then picked up his dedicated pen again, signed his name on the reviewed document, his three characters seeming to leap off the paper, but undeniably graceful.

JY Studio.

Xiaomei stood at the door in a daze, having just finished a call with Zhao Huai. The city was still full of sunshine, but here it started to rain lightly, Xiaomei couldn’t help but look at the gloomy sky, wondering if someone’s in pain or if they could be upstairs.

”I’m going upstairs for a bit.”

Xiaomei said to Yanzi, then turned and walked towards the stairs.

Qin Mu was reading, when she heard a noise, she answered: ”Come in!”

”Qinqin!”

Xiaomei closed the door and walked over, pulled out a chair and sat properly in front of Qin Mu.

Qin Mu sat behind the desk holding a book, her calm eyes moved from the book to Xiaomei.

”Spit it out!”

Qin Mu immediately saw she was about to tell her something, so she didn’t beat around the bush and asked her to speak directly.

”Haha! You really know me! I just spoke to Zhao Huai, he said he and Qin brother are worried about Yang Qin’s situation!”

Xiaomei said.

”And?”

Qin Mu frowned suspiciously.

”And? Oh! Zhang Hongyun is causing trouble for Yang Qin again, reportedly waiting in a car at Yang Qin’s community entrance to hit her. Luckily, Yang Qin dodged but got slightly hurt. However, they’re afraid Yang Qin might be in trouble again, so they want to help press down on Zhang Hongyun, preferably drive her out of Rong City.”

Xiaomei explained with gestures, Qin Mu’s eyes gradually lowered, unable to focus on her book.

”This Zhang Hongyun is really...”

Qin Mu sighed helplessly, thinking this woman is truly a troublemaker. Is she mentally ill?

”Qinqin, Zhao Huai means Mr. Mu doesn’t intend to help Yang Qin, and it’s said Zhang Hongyun has a formidable family background. Will you help?”

Xiaomei held back her question for a long time, biting her lip forcefully before letting it out.

”Me help her? Why should I help her?”

Qin Mu looked sharply at Xiaomei, questioning.
