Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 345: Chapter 305: Right in My Crosshairs

Evening, around eight o’clock.

John Moody III, just like any other day, headed straight to the nightclub with a few lackeys after work.

As a seasoned lecher, John Moody III’s greatest pastime is chasing after various blonde beauties.

And this top nightclub in New York truly fulfills all of John Moody III’s desires.

For instance, this nightclub boasts an eighteen-story loft, with the first floor as the party main area, often attracting many models, celebrities, and high society seeking pleasure, while upstairs has baths and high-end guest rooms, etc.

Whenever John Moody III hooks up with a beautiful model, he can directly take her upstairs to do indescribable things.

Tonight his luck was exceptionally good, not long after arriving here, a blonde, blue-eyed world-class model voluntarily approached him.

Under the influence of alcohol and dim lighting, John Moody III and the world-class model were already passionately engaged, and finally, he extended an invitation, which the model eagerly accepted to go upstairs.

Embracing the excitement, John Moody III hugged the model and went to the earlier reserved guest room.

Just as he pushed open the door, John Moody III was planning to have the model take a shower before getting down to business.

Suddenly, a young man’s voice echoed in the room, ”Let her leave, you stay!”

John Moody III’s expression changed, looking towards the direction of the voice, he saw a young man sitting with his back toward him at the window, gazing outside.

He squinted his eyes and said, ”Who are you? Why are you in my room.”

The young man remained unmoved, calmly said, ”Mr. Ancestor.”

John Moody III was startled.

Beside him, the blonde, blue-eyed model also covered her mouth, appearing extremely frightened.

The two exchanged a glance and were about to flee.

”Mr. Ancestor” seemed to sense it, ”I advise you not to run, or else the consequences will be unimaginable, I’ve said, let the woman leave, you stay, I won’t take your life.”

John Moody III’s legs trembled, he knew all too well how ruthless Mr. Ancestor was, he dared not refute, so he said with a slight tremble, ”Kali, you leave first, I’ll have a talk with Mr. Ancestor.”

”Al...alright.” The model was equally frightened, she even trembled as she spoke to prevent any violence from Mr. Ancestor, ”Mr... Mr. Ancestor, please... please rest assured, I won’t utter a word after I leave.”

Mr. Ancestor raised his hand lightly, indicating he wouldn’t harm her.

Only then did the model breathe a sigh of relief, turned around and left, carefully closing the door behind her.

Lu Li gestured to the sofa beside him, ”Sit, let’s have a brief chat.”

John Moody III said with a mournful face, ”No, no no no, I’ll stand here, I dare not look at your face, don’t think about killing me to silence.”

Hmm, he still thought Lu Li intentionally wanted him to see his face and then kill him after questioning.

Lu Li chuckled softly, ”I said I won’t kill, I won’t kill, you don’t have to worry about being silenced for seeing my face, besides, haven’t you already seen my photos?”

John Moody III thought so too, so he braced himself and walked forward, then sat stiffly on the sofa.

At this moment, he saw Mr. Ancestor ”admiring the moon” while seated, looking exactly like the Huaxia youth in the photos.

Having verified it was indeed that notoriously ruthless Mr. Ancestor, John Moody III’s muscles tightened even more.

Lu Li didn’t even glance at him, asked softly, ”Who instructed you to kill Matthew Simon?”

John Moody III said bitterly, ”I can’t say, or my entire family will face utter disaster.”

Lu Li’s tone remained calm, ”If you don’t say now, I’ll consider your Moody Clan as a hypothetical enemy, do you think they wouldn’t face utter disaster?”

Upon hearing this, John Moody’s face turned pale.

Of course, he knew since Mr. Ancestor dared to say this, if he still insisted on being silent, terrifying events would unfold next.

After a brief silence, John Moody III said helplessly, ”I’ll talk, as long as you spare me and my family.”

Lu Li replied, ”Agreed.”

As the saying goes, debts have owners, the Moody Clan has no enmity with him, Lu Li naturally won’t cause trouble.

John Moody III took a deep breath, ”John Chris Morgan instructed me.”

Hmm?

It was indeed John Chris Morgan.

Lu Li found it odd, expressing his doubt, ”He is so young, holding wealth comparable to a country, why would he risk finding trouble with me and seek his own doom?”

John Moody III seemed well-informed, said, ”I previously asked John Chris Morgan this question, initially he didn’t inform me, later when we met, I accidentally saw him taking heart disease medication, then vaguely guessed why, without surprise, he should have a very severe congenital heart disease, regarding this matter, it was talked about early on, but the Morgan Clan always denied it, so people didn’t take it seriously.”

Oh.

So that guy has a very severe congenital heart condition.

Lu Li roughly understood why, based on his understanding of congenital heart diseases, if it’s minor defects, it might heal naturally without affecting lifespan, while severe deformities like transposition of the great arteries, although potentially treatable via surgery, would significantly affect lifespan, some might not live past fifty.

If that guy truly has a very severe congenital heart disease, then making such a reckless move seems normal.

After all, the disease’s peak onset stage is around thirty or forty years old.

He was already thirty-three or four, and had probably already tasted the pain of illness, fearing an early death, hence his madness.

Who among normal people doesn’t want to live longer?

Thinking of this, Lu Li couldn’t help but shake his head with a wry smile.

To be honest, if the other party had made every effort to please him, he might have tried using an energy ray to see if he could cure the other’s illness.

However, John Chris Morgan chose an extreme path, thoroughly offending him.

While Lu Li was musing in the dark.

John Moody III weakly asked, ”Mr. Ancestor, you... you’re not really thinking of killing John Chris Morgan, are you?”

Lu Li replied, ”So what if I am? So what if I’m not?”

John Moody III said, ”He has great influence over the entire Ugly Country. If you really intend to kill him, it could lead to a very frightening situation.”

He didn’t say how frightening.

Lu Li wasn’t a fool; he could naturally understand what was implied.

He revealed a contemptuous smile, ”What if I’m against the whole world? Anyone who provokes me should be prepared for the worst consequences!”

John Moody III fell silent.

Lu Li didn’t say anything else but didn’t leave immediately.

He quietly opened his domain, secretly scanning the memories of John Moody III from the past few days to see if what he said was true.

Moments later, Lu Li finished scanning, confirming that everything John Moody III had said was true.

Moreover, he also learned the specific appearance of John Chris Morgan from John Moody III’s memory.

As for where the opponent was hiding now, John Moody III’s memory did not reveal it.

As Lu Li closed his domain, he casually asked, ”Do you know where John Chris Morgan is?”

John Moody III shook his head and said, ”That man is very afraid of death, he never tells us where he lives, let alone now that he has offended you, he definitely wouldn’t tell us where he is hiding.”

It’s okay not to know where the opponent is hiding.

Since he knows who the enemy is, Lu Li can simply go directly to the other party’s home and scan the memories of each family member one by one. He doesn’t believe that in such a large clan, no one would know where John Chris Morgan’s hiding place is.

Lu Li has always been a man of his word. If he said he wouldn’t kill John Moody III, then he certainly wouldn’t kill him.

He stood up and said, ”Alright, I’ve learned what I wanted to know. You can stay here and play by yourself. Of course, you can tell John Chris Morgan that I came to see you, it’s fine. I said I’d wipe out his clan within fifteen days, and I’ll definitely do it!”

Before John Moody III could reply, the wall before him ”melted” away.

Soon after, Lu Li’s whole body emitted a faint white light, and he passed through the wall, disappearing into the night sky.

Watching such an amazing scene, John Moody III couldn’t help but secretly feel fortunate for being clever enough to have told everything earlier, otherwise, he would probably be a corpse by now and his family members might also be implicated.

...

Just after leaving the nightclub, Lu Li was preparing to head to the Morgan Clan’s base in Massachusetts, according to the memory he scanned from John Moody III.

Suddenly, with his area omniscience activated, he noticed an interesting piece of news on a TV in a nearby house.

At this moment, the female news anchor was reading the news, ”Ever since Mr. Ancestor’s mecha combat group exercised, people worldwide have been on edge, fearing that these war machines that cannot be detected by satellites and radars will invade their domains and commit heinous acts. Many countries have joined forces to develop counter-measures for detecting Mr. Ancestor’s mechas. Some military experts claim they have already uncovered the secret behind why Mr. Ancestor’s mechas evade satellite and radar detection and will soon develop breakthrough surveillance technology...”

Seeing this, Lu Li genuinely found it amusing; these people still think his greatest asset is the mecha combat group and are putting so much effort into figuring out how to counter the mecha coatings.

Even at a speed of Mach 5, so what if they can detect it?

Fine, let’s say you can intercept a mecha flying at Mach 5, but I can alter my own magnetic and force fields, so how would you intercept that?

Lu Li’s destructive power was far more terrifying than the mechas.

Just as Lu Li found it amusing.

Suddenly, the phone rang out in the night sky with a ”ring-ring.”

Lu Li took it out and saw it was an unknown number, casually answering, ”Who is it?”

The caller immediately identified themselves as a high-ranking member of the Morgan Clan, and directly said to Lu Li, ”Mr. Ancestor, we don’t wish to be your enemy, but if you insist on being ours, then even if it kills us, we will drag your entire family down with us!”

Oh ho!

Alright!

They’re actually daring to threaten me?

Lu Li laughed out of anger.

I was planning to come for you guys anyway.

And now you call, perfectly in line with my wishes!

If I don’t show my strength, you won’t know that Lord Ma has three eyes!
