Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 329: Chapter 293: Scared Out of Their Wits

On the uninhabited island.

Lu Guang, Douglas, and other reporters and team members all had their backs turned.

They had no idea whether the Ancestor’s two mechas had launched the ”Vase” missiles.

One second.

Three seconds.

Although only two or three seconds had passed, everyone’s hearts were still anxious, pondering why the missiles hadn’t launched yet.

Some even had the urge to open their eyes and look back.

Fortunately, these anxious individuals did not act on their impulses.

Because the next moment, even though their eyes were closed, everyone with their backs turned still felt as if a blinding flash tore through the sky.

Immediately, a deafening roar violently erupted from afar.

Even though they covered their ears, they could still feel a buzzing noise shaking their eardrums, as if someone was banging a gong next to them!

Before they comprehended what happened.

A terrifying shockwave, mixed with endless heat, surged upon them from afar.

Even though they were over ten kilometers from the explosion, the fierce wind hitting their bodies made the reporters and team members feel intense pain on their skin, as if searing coals were burning them!

Lu Guang, Douglas, and the others immediately realized that the two missiles had exploded.

That was nothing.

The shocking part was that they could feel the explosion’s raging wind and heat from such a far distance?

This made Lu Guang, Douglas, and the others want to turn around several times to see what was happening.

Suddenly, the ocean seemed to be shaken by some tremendous force.

Waves crashed madly on the sea surface, causing the small island to tremble.

No!

It’s not the island trembling.

Instead, the air itself was quaking from the powerful blast!

The massive commotion of the shaking earth and roaring seas was terrifying!

Feeling the intense tremor frightened them into abandoning their urge to lift their heads, instead clutching their heads tighter, not daring to even breathe loudly.

Or rather, they felt the terrifying heat suffusing the air, not daring to breathe for fear their lungs would be scorched!

Fortunately, the situation didn’t last long.

Soon, the terrifying roar lessened, and the temperature dropped instantly.

Yet, even so, Lu Guang, Douglas, and the two to three thousand remaining reporters and team members still didn’t dare to lift their heads immediately.

They huddled shaking, clutching their heads as the rushing seawater pounded their backs.

Maybe realizing what happened, Lu Guang, Douglas, and all reporters and team members were filled with utmost terror inside.

Some repeatedly muttered ”God bless.”

Others shouted words like ”Holy shit,” ”God save us,” and similar exclamations.

Finally, after one or two minutes, there was no more movement from behind.

Douglas, a war correspondent, always had a brave heart.

He slowly released his hands from his head, cautiously glancing backward to gauge the situation.

He shouldn’t have turned around.

As soon as he did, Douglas was utterly stunned, exclaiming, ”My Fack!?”

”What happened?”

”What’s going on?”

Lu Guang and the other reporters and team members, hearing Douglas’s exclamation, all released their grip from their heads and turned quickly, curious about the situation.

The next moment, the two to three thousand reporters and team members present all had their pupils dilate, their faces contorted in extreme shock and horror!

Even without binoculars, they could still see a massive fireball burning on the distant sea surface.

The terrifying flames continued to rise, unquenched by the seawater.

How could they not know that place?

They had initially come to this sea area to find a landing spot.

They knew it was an uninhabited island of four or five square kilometers.

And now, the entire island was engulfed in ferocious flames?

Even the surrounding seawater seemed ignited, flickering with intense flames?

Lu Guang’s breath suddenly stopped!

Douglas felt as though his heart had paused.

The remaining two to three thousand reporters and team members felt the same.

They stood there, stunned, gaping at the sea engulfed in flames, in a state of shock!

Real...really?

Did the two Vase missiles launched by the Ancestor’s mechas have the power of nuclear bombs?

To think these were missiles merely the size of a vase.

How could they unleash such world-destroying might?

Lu Guang, Douglas, and every reporter at the scene couldn’t believe it.

No matter their disbelief, this spectacle unfolded right before them!

Among the crowd, a young white female reporter shivered, seemingly realizing something!

She wasn’t alone in her reaction.

Their first thought was how terrifying the Ancestor’s mechas were.

If just one of those Vase missiles had targeted their island.

They would already have been reduced to ashes!

This realization silenced everyone in shock, leaving them voiceless.

Douglas was stunned for a moment.

Luckily, being a veteran of war zones, he swiftly collected himself.

He said nothing, rushed to the high-power telescope, pushing aside the dazed brown-skinned young man, closing one eye to peer through the lens at the raging fire.

Douglas caught a glimpse and cried out again, ”What? That island... disappeared?”

”Huh?”

”The island disappeared?”

”How is that possible? How can that be!”

The group of journalists didn’t believe it at all, and they all rushed to the high-powered telescopes to observe what was happening ahead.

Then...

Everyone stood dumbfounded in unprecedented shock at the scene!

Yes, Douglas wasn’t lying.

The island, several kilometers away and four or five square kilometers in size, had completely vanished!

At this moment, Lu Guang realized what was truly terrifying about the Ancestors’ mecha battle group.

A flight speed of Mach 5?

Bullets as powerful as shoulder-launched rocket launchers?

Or perhaps high-energy laser beams and electromagnetic pulse waves?

And vase missiles comparable to small nuclear bombs?

None of these!

The truly terrifying aspect of these mechas was actually the two vase missiles they launched at the end.

Vase missiles capable of unleashing a power akin to real nuclear bombs!

That wasn’t even the most terrifying thing.

The most terrifying aspect is that all the features of these mechas combined can unleash such an astounding and terrifying power!

A mecha battle group that can appear and disappear without a trace and cannot be detected.

It can easily unleash missiles with power comparable to real nuclear bombs.

To obliterate a small nation.

Fifty mechas would more than suffice!

Even those large nations, if hit by an aggressive attack from these fifty mechas, would surely be heavily damaged!

Shock!

Fear!

Incredulity!

A myriad of complex emotions spread continuously within the hearts of the two to three thousand journalists and team members present.

Everyone had already witnessed the ferocious combat power of the Ancestors’ mecha battle group.

Believing it to be the world’s most powerful assassination ”unit.”

That was their consensus initially.

However, seeing the scene before them, everyone realized just how laughable their previous thoughts were.

The world’s most powerful assassination ”unit”?

This is clearly an insult to the Ancestors’ mecha battle group!

Because this is not an assassination ”unit” at all.

But a super powerful firepower ”unit” capable of destroying the heavens and the earth!

One can easily imagine, if someone were to possess such a powerful mecha battle group and wanted to do something, the current technology on Earth wouldn’t stand a chance unless there was an ”Earth restart”!

Silence!

Endless silence spread across the island.

The only thing left was the sound of the sea breeze blowing ”swishing” along.

Lu Guang and Douglas, along with the two to three thousand journalists and team members, still couldn’t believe what they had just seen.

In utter shock, as if in a dream!

Just as everyone remained silent.

A middle-aged man’s voice suddenly emerged from the crowd, speaking in English, ”Look quickly at those two mechas that fired ’vase missiles’!”

Hmm?

What about those two mechas that fired the ”vase missiles”?

Lu Guang, looking puzzled, used the high-powered telescope to look again.

Douglas also adjusted the direction of the telescope, wanting to take a closer look.

The remaining journalists and team members, those with high-powered telescopes using them, and those without trying hard to widen their eyes, wanting to see why someone was calling out in such shock at this astounding moment.

Soon, Lu Guang saw it.

Then the astonished expression that had just faded from his face resurfaced, more intense than before, almost causing his eyes to burst out of their sockets!

Douglas was in a similar state, his whole face contorted in shock as if completely squeezed together.

The other two to three thousand people were all the same, every one of them showing extreme shock.

Because they saw that inside the missile launch pod on the right shoulder of the mecha that had just launched two vase missiles, another vase missile, identical in power to a real nuclear weapon, had once again emerged!

In other words, each mecha in the Ancestors’ mecha battle group can carry more than one ”nuclear-weapon” vase missile?

This means that the true combat power of the mecha battle group is countless times more powerful than they currently imagine!

After all, no one knows how many of these powerful vase missiles are loaded in a single mecha!

Just one is enough to destroy a city.

And now there’s more than one in a single mecha.

Forty or fifty mechas together, how many city-destroying vase missiles would that be?

Such powerful firepower, it’s likely not just about destroying small countries, but they could wipe out large ones!

Scared to death!

Lu Guang, Douglas, and everyone at the scene couldn’t dare to imagine any further, they were all scared to death!

...

The shock and fear were not limited to the journalists at the scene like Lu Guang and Douglas.

At that moment, in Asia, America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and other continents, netizens from any country with slightly developed communication technology saw this mind-blowing scene and observed that, inside the missile launch pod on the right shoulders of the two mechas, a new vase missile had risen once again!

Upon witnessing this scene, netizens from all nations worldwide, like the island that was destroyed earlier, were all ”blown away”!
