Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 344: Chapter 304: Earthshaking Tycoon

He inquired about the answer he wanted to know.

Lu Li immediately returned to Los Angeles.

He found Julia Giannini at the Bank of America in the city center.

In the Operations Director’s office.

Lu Li sat on the sofa watching Julia Giannini handle the company’s affairs.

At this moment, Julia Giannini wore light makeup and a professional women’s suit, completely different from her usual heavy makeup and revealing attire.

Julia Giannini said seriously to the middle-aged man standing in front of the desk, ”Johnny, the marketing benchmark data is incomplete. Get someone to redo it and deliver it to my office by tonight.”

Johnny calmly replied, ”Alright, Ms. Giannini.”

Julia Giannini was exceptionally serious, looking down at the data report, ”Pay extra attention to the customer acquisition cost.”

Johnny said, ”Understood.”

Julia Giannini waved her hand, ”Alright, go ahead with your work, I have other matters here.”

Johnny politely said ”Goodbye” and left, closing the door.

After he left, Lu Li looked over with a grin, teasing, ”I didn’t expect you to be so serious at work, I almost couldn’t recognize you.”

Julia Giannini stood up, walked slowly to sit beside Lu Li, losing her previous severity, and showing a slightly coquettish look, ”Honey, are you teasing me?”

Lu Li snaked his arm around her waist, ”No, it’s just that you’re particularly captivating when you’re working.”

Julia Giannini leaned close to his ear, blowing warm air, and softly said, ”So, do you want to do something in my office?”

Oh dear!

Haven’t you had enough yet?

Lu Li did have that thought, but there were more pressing matters now.

He pecked her lips, steering the conversation back on track, ”There’s something I want to ask you.”

Julia Giannini hooked her arm around his neck, ”Go ahead.”

Lu Li inquired, ”Do you know John Moody III?”

Julia Giannini seemed to dislike this person, frowning, ”I know, what’s up with him?”

Lu Li said, ”Can you tell me about him?”

Julia Giannini recalled carefully, her tone slightly grave, ”His family is not simple, do you know John Moody?”

Lu Li shook his head, ”I don’t, tell me about him.”

Julia Giannini said, ”In the outside world, it’s rumored that Wall Street is controlled by the seven major tycoons, you should know that. Although John Moody isn’t one of the seven, he is the founder of the Moody Investment Rating System. In 1911, he was a behind-the-scenes promoter in the establishment of the Federal Reserve by the seven major tycoons on Wall Street. He has profound ties with the Rothschild Clan in Europe. And John Moody III is a descendant of John Moody, the first in line heir of the Moody Clan.”

Ah, so John Moody III’s family is quite powerful.

Though their reputation doesn’t seem significant now.

It seems they dislike being in the public eye.

Lu Li asked further, ”What is the Moody Clan’s current strength?”

”The current Moody Clan is not as dominant as before, but it cannot be underestimated either.”

Julia Giannini explained, ”Since John Moody’s death, the Moody Clan has not produced a capable leader who can expand territories. They have since relied on the Morgan Consortium, considered as part of the Morgan Consortium.”

Hmm?

The Morgan Consortium?

Lu Li couldn’t help but blink.

The information he had previously gathered pointed to a major consortium in the East being the one behind the scenes.

The Morgan Family is indeed one of the top entities among the major eastern consortiums.

From what Lu Li knows, the Morgan Family was already wealthy enough to rival nations in the 1920s.

After Old Morgan’s death, the family faced a crisis, significantly weakening in strength.

Around 1933, they split into branches like J.P Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Mei Fu Bank, Guaranteed Trust Company, and First National Bank.

It ultimately became the most formidable ”Phantom Consortium” on Wall Street.

This way, the Morgan Consortium barely survived the crisis.

However, in the 1970s, another financial consortium, the Rockefeller Clan of the Ugly Country, came out on top in political and financial contests, putting the Morgan Consortium in great peril once again.

Subsequently, to solidify their position, the Morgan Consortium had to strike a deal with the Rockefeller Clan, merging Morgan Bank and Chase Manhattan Corporation, thereby reviving the situation.

Since then, the Morgan Family began staying ”low-key.”

Day-to-day company operations were even handed over to professional managers.

They exchanged shares with countless consortiums, forming a vast network of relationships.

For instance, the current CEO of Morgan Stanley is Jamie Dimon, previously also chairman of the board. This shows how low-key the Morgan Family has become.

Or perhaps it’s that the Morgan Family was lacking talent previously, with no one to shoulder the heavy burden.

As the saying goes, every dynasty produces talents of its own.

As one of the most influential families in the Ugly Country, the Morgan Family wouldn’t remain devoid of talent for long.

In the past decade or so, the family has produced a remarkably gifted young leader, named John Chris Morgan.

He was born in 1992, and though young, he is exceptionally shrewd.

For example, after undertaking a series of operations, he once again took back the chairmanship of Morgan Stanley.

However, being low-key, he publicly announced that he would not be responsible for any affairs, but actually, he was already fully in charge of the company.

It can be said that John Chris Morgan is, without a doubt, the leading figure among the young generation of consortia in Ugly Country today.

Lu Li never imagined that the ”real culprit” he was facing might actually be this young tycoon who controls an astonishing fortune.

Of course, he cannot yet be entirely sure if John Chris Morgan is indeed his opponent.

As a relatively reasonable person,

Lu Li plans to carefully inquire about the situation.

To determine if this person is the ”real culprit.”

Then carry out the final closing plan.

Thinking of this, Lu Li said, ”Do you know where John Chris Morgan is?”

Julia Giannini shook her head, ”He’s quite cautious, has arranged many properties, and usually keeps a low profile. Unless someone is very close to him, it’s rare for anyone to know which mansion he actually lives in. I met him once and heard him talk about some investments, such as investing in emerging enterprises in Africa, Asia, Europe, and so on, but other than that, I know virtually nothing.”

Not knowing the whereabouts of the other person is indeed quite troublesome.

However, knowing the potential opponent and approximately what their identity is, it’s like half the task is done.

The only thing Lu Li needs to confirm now is whether the Morgan Clan is behind this.

If they are, he can directly seek out other members of the Morgan Clan, use his various superpowers, and either interrogate or scan memories to find John Chris Morgan’s location.

So how to confirm if it’s the Morgan Clan up to no good?

Lu Li suddenly thought of John Moody III.

Wasn’t he working for the ”big boss” in recent days?

If only he could locate him, he could directly use his domain-scanning superpower to explore recent memory and uncover the result.

”Then...” Lu Li’s eyes flickered, ”Do you know where John Moody III is?”

Julia Giannini said, ”I know, he’s usually working at Moody’s Company on Wall Street in New York. This person leads a fairly indulgent lifestyle and often likes to hang out with supermodels at upscale nightclubs after work. Once, he even tried to hit on me, and I gave him a good beating.”

Well, you are quite fierce indeed.

Finally, Lu Li understood why Julia Giannini showed such dislike when talking about John Moody III at the beginning; it turned out it was because of this incident.

Lu Li thought for a moment and said, ”Can you get a photo of John Moody III?”

Julia Giannini said, ”Sure, I’ll have someone send the photo now.”

Lu Li stopped her and said, ”Also, let me know which nightclub John Moody III likes to visit.”

Julia Giannini said, ”Okay.”

After speaking, she stood up to get her phone from the desk and dialed a number.

Lu Li sat quietly on the sofa, pondering over things in his mind.

If his enemy really is John Chris Morgan, why would he do this?

Honestly, if the roles were reversed, Lu Li definitely wouldn’t provoke an enemy like himself.

Owning a wealth that rivals a nation, there’s virtually nothing in the world that can trouble John Chris Morgan, except the inability to attain immortality.

The opponent is quite young, not like someone in their seventies or eighties who would desperately try anything just to live a little longer.

A person born in 1992.

Now is only in their thirties.

And yet controls such wealth.

Why take such enormous risks to offend someone with supernatural powers like himself?

Everyone knows how powerful and ruthless the ”Ancestor Man” is.

The complete annihilation of the Jalisco Group is the best evidence.

Anyone with half a brain knows that offending the Ancestor Man is inadvisable.

Lu Li believes that since John Chris Morgan can regain the leadership of Morgan Stanley with such tenacity and decisiveness, he is definitely not someone without brains.

Logically speaking, there are no reasons for him to do such a thing.

It is precisely because of this that Lu Li cannot be sure whether the so-called ”big boss” is John Chris Morgan.

After pondering for a short while,

Julia Giannini came back with a phone, ”Darling, I got the photos of John Moody III, do you want me to send them to your email?”

”No need.” Lu Li extended his hand and said, ”Just let me take a look.”

”Alright.”

Julia Giannini handed over the phone.

Lu Li took a look and saw that the person was a handsome, blond Caucasian in his mid-thirties.

He memorized the appearance in his mind, then looked up and asked, ”Which nightclub does he frequent?”

Julia Giannini said, ”The-Top-of-The-Standard Lounge in New York.”

Lu Li acknowledged it, ”Don’t wait up for me tonight, get some early sleep. I’m going to talk to John Moody III about something.”

Whether that ”big boss” is John Chris Morgan, as long as he finds John Moody III and utilizes his superpower of memory scanning for recent days, he will be able to know.

Lu Li squinted slightly, secretly thinking: ”John Chris Morgan, you’d better not be involved. Otherwise, because of your actions... the entire Morgan Clan will be doomed!”
