Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 343: Chapter 303: All the Media Have Surrendered!

Little Solzberg and Mark Thompson were trembling with anger.

Yet, neither emotionally, logically, nor in terms of sheer strength, could they do anything about Mr. Ancestor.

From an emotional and logical standpoint, Mr. Ancestor ”accidentally” crashed into the Times Building after a handgun ”attack”.

If you’re looking to claim compensation, you can’t possibly pin it on him, right?

As for sheer strength, the whole world has no means to deal with Mr. Ancestor, so how could the two of them have any options?

While Little Solzberg, Mark Thompson, and a group of New York Times staff were left in a mix of shock and fury, surrounded by bewildered onlookers.

Mr. Ancestor seemed furious as he got up from the ground, swearing, ”You New Yorkers are really unfriendly. I just wanted to take a tour here, and you actually opened fire at me, humph, I might as well visit other famous media headquarters, like the Los Angeles Times Building!”

After saying that, under the gaze of the crowd, Mr. Ancestor flashed with white light all over and suddenly shot up into the clouds, disappearing from everyone’s sight in an instant.

From the destruction of the Times Building headquarters to now, not even thirty seconds had passed.

No one had time to react; Mr. Ancestor had already avenged himself and left immediately.

Onlookers, New York policemen, or Little Solzberg and Mark Thompson, all stood dumbfounded, unable to respond at the moment.

Suddenly, someone quickly turned their head to look at Little Solzberg and Mark Thompson.

Everyone else seemed to snap out of it and one after another turned their heads, wanting to see what expression Little Solzberg and Mark Thompson, the leaders of the New York Times, would have.

Furious?

Silence is golden?

Unexpectedly, Little Solzberg and Mark Thompson exchanged a glance, then hurriedly ran to the policeman who had ”fired”.

Little Solzberg furiously shouted, ”Shit! You bastard! Why did you shoot at Mr. Ancestor? Because of your action, our company headquarters was destroyed. What are you going to do about it?”

Mark Thompson yelled, ”Compensation! The New York police must compensate us for the destruction of the Times Building!”

The Times Building cost six hundred million dollars.

How could that policeman possibly take on this responsibility?

He immediately retorted, ”Clearly, you offended Mr. Ancestor, he came for revenge, how is it my fault? If I could shoot Mr. Ancestor down with a single bullet, I’d be the second-strongest in the world. What are you dreaming about? Compensation? Go to hell!”

Little Solzberg and Mark Thompson wouldn’t let it go, continuing to argue endlessly with the ”shooting” policeman.

The surrounding onlookers were all dumbfounded.

Seriously.

They had seen people bully the weak and fear the strong before.

They had never seen anyone like Little Solzberg and Mark Thompson bully the weak and fear the strong like this!

Mr. Ancestor destroyed the Times Building and they didn’t dare claim compensation from him, ending up blaming it on the policeman?

Actually, everyone could understand.

Who doesn’t know how terrifying Mr. Ancestor is?

It’s only natural that Little Solzberg and Mark Thompson wouldn’t dare to claim compensation.

But the Times Building did cost six hundred million dollars.

They definitely need a party capable of paying to shoulder the responsibility.

Indeed, it would be the New York authorities!

The onlookers around couldn’t help but feel both amused and helpless seeing this.

They never expected to witness such a dramatic scene.

...

Lu Li held onto a Cadillac tightly, flying to the seaside.

Then, he gently lowered the Cadillac.

He himself shrank back to a normal ”size”.

But his face remained twisted, preventing anyone from seeing his true face.

Lu Li, with his hands in his pockets, calmly spoke to Smith and the few big black guys in the car, ”Get out, let’s talk.”

Smith and the few big black guys, having seen Lu Li transform into the ”Light Giant” and destroy the Times Building, were already shivering with fear, not daring to disobey his orders.

They scrambled out of the car in a fluster.

Perhaps due to their weakened legs from fear, Smith and the few big black guys struggled several times on the beach, unable to stand up.

Before they could get on their feet, Lu Li directly asked, ”Tell me, who is your boss? I’ll spare your lives if you do. Otherwise... today you’ll all end up in the sea feeding sharks!”

”I’ll tell! I’ll tell!” Smith, without any hesitation, with a look of absolute fear, said, ”Respected Mr. Ancestor, I’m willing to tell you everything I know, just please don’t kill us! I beg you! I don’t want to die yet!”

”I don’t want to die either!”

”Mr. Ancestor, please have mercy and spare our lives!”

The other big guys were also terrified, kowtowing and begging for mercy.

”Shut up!” Lu Li scolded.

Smith and the other big guys quickly shut their mouths, fearing to anger the killing god in front of them.

Lu Li looked at Smith and said, ”Tell me the specifics, like why kill Matthew Simon.”

Smith dared not waste any words, directly getting to the point, ”The boss told us to kill Matthew Simon. The boss probably guessed that you have the superpower to track phone signals, and currently there are not many people who know the big boss’s number. The only one exposed to you is Matthew Simon, so the boss, to prevent you from using Matthew Simon to track down the big boss, made us kill Matthew Simon. Actually, we didn’t do anything; we just handed the poison that the boss gave to Matthew Simon. He committed suicide by poisoning himself!”

Lu Li had already vaguely learned this by simulating the crime scene with his field of expertise.

Now hearing Smith say this, Lu Li could fully confirm the situation, his simulation was correct.

Thinking of this, Lu Li asked, ”Who exactly is your boss?”

Smith said, ”Our boss is someone from the Moody Clan, named John Moody III, but he’s not the big boss, just responsible for contacting us. As for who the big boss is, we really don’t know at all.”

John Moody III?

Lu Li memorized this name, planning to go back and ask Julia Giannini.

He believed as long as this person was a part of the Eastern Consortium, Julia Giannini would surely know.

At that time, as long as he knew which consortium, he could basically guess who the mastermind behind it was.

The real culprit is about to surface!

...

When everyone saw Little Solzberg and Mark Thompson grabbing the police for compensation, they all found it amusing and prepared to see how this drama would end.

But suddenly, someone in the crowd shouted, ”Quick, go check out those news media that previously smeared and slandered Mr. Ancestor.”

So, many people, out of curiosity, took out their phones and took a look.

It was fine before they looked.

Once they looked, everyone was left speechless.

It turned out that less than a minute after the incident happened, several news media that previously smeared and slandered Mr. Ancestor had quietly retracted those reports at some point, and also immediately posted an announcement titled ”Apology to Mr. Ancestor” on the front page of their respective websites, to express their apology for the previous ”erroneous report” on Mr. Ancestor and their willingness to compensate Mr. Ancestor in any economic form.

When netizens saw this, they almost fainted.

”What?”

”The media all retracted their reports, and even publicly apologized and are ready to compensate Mr. Ancestor?”

”Pfft! These media outlets must have been scared silly! This has never happened in the global news industry. Generally speaking, news media are known for their ’bad temper’ and ’stiff back’. The more fiercely you make trouble with them, the more proud they become. Even if you end up winning in a lawsuit, these media at most give you a vague public apology, considering it settled. But now seeing the behavior of Mr. Ancestor, these media have all been scared pissless, retracting their news, publicly apologizing, and even preparing to spend money to buy peace of mind? Haha, that’s too funny!”

”Hahahaha!”

”Do these media have to be so amusing?”

Previously, those news media relied on the advantage of ”having the pen in their own hands” and a wide news audience, constantly smearing and slandering Mr. Ancestor. Others might not know their purpose, but this behavior was certainly very unpleasant, so much so that many Ugly Country netizens were criticizing the New York Times.

At that time, many people thought Mr. Ancestor wouldn’t take any action.

After all, just smearing and slandering in the news, not really provoking you.

Including Little Solzberg, Mark Thompson, and other news media owners and CEOs, all thought so.

However, no one expected that Mr. Ancestor not only took action but also brutally taught the New York Times a painful lesson before the news fully fermented, directly destroying the Times Building.

Most crucially, the other party shamelessly ”did not take responsibility”!

Subsequently, Mr. Ancestor also threatened to visit other news media headquarters that smeared and slandered him if given a chance.

This terrified countless news media owners and CEOs who smeared and slandered Mr. Ancestor to the point of near fainting!

The pen is in their hands!

But your pen is useless if someone ”breaks” it!

Since Mr. Ancestor has a way to destroy Times Square in broad daylight, he certainly has enough ”legitimate” reasons to destroy other news media headquarters or printing plants and other core industries.

Such a loss of several hundred million US dollars, which company can bear it?

Naturally, at this moment, these media that had previously smeared and slandered Mr. Ancestor were all scared pissless, not only retracting their news but also apologizing and willing to compensate.

In the past, when media reported incorrectly, at most, they issued an apology statement, and in the end, the issue was basically left unresolved.

Now, with Mr. Ancestor’s mere minor punishment, these news media were so frightened that they didn’t dare to talk nonsense, even retracting the news they previously released at the first opportunity and immediately publicly expressing the highest apology to Mr. Ancestor!

How powerful is this?

How ruthless is this?
