Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 322: Chapter 279: Showing Off Their Power

The mecha combat group had just begun to reveal its formidable presence, each one raising an arm equipped with a weapon device resembling a six-barreled Gatling gun, immediately causing everyone to stare wide-eyed, eager to know what other advanced weaponry these mechas might possess next.

Even now, they had yet to witness the true power of a six-barreled Gatling gun, but that didn’t stop their imaginations from running wild.

If it were anyone else, the journalists might not have been so eager.

But this, after all, was a mecha combat group ”developed” by the Ancestors.

Not to mention other aspects, just moments ago, these mecha combat groups flew in at a speed of Mach 5 and yet weren’t detected by any country’s radar or satellite, leading everyone to imagine how advanced the technology embedded in these mechas might be.

Naturally, upon seeing the mechas’ arms raise the six-barreled Gatling guns, they assumed this wasn’t a conventional weapon. It was highly possible it only resembled a six-barreled Gatling gun but was actually a more powerful weapon, leading them to speculate about even more sensational and powerful weapons to come.

...

On the frigate.

Chamos and the command team also received feedback from the reconnaissance personnel who used high-power telescopes to investigate the situation and learned that the mecha combat group’s arms had raised six-barreled Gatling guns.

This left them somewhat surprised.

After all, who would have thought such small mechas could contain a weapon system inside?

”Mr. Chamos...” One of the fifty-something command personnel frowned, hesitating to speak.

Chamos said impassively, ”It’s just a six-barreled Gatling gun, nothing to fear. Continue our attack; today, we must capture the Ancestors, dead or alive!”

The earlier command personnel responded, ”Understood, full attack immediately!”

...

In the sea area not far from the uninhabited island.

The mecha combat group and the frigate combat group had already engaged in their first skirmish.

Lu Li intentionally intended to test the weapon’s power, deliberately not presenting the most powerful weapon right away.

In the next moment, the six-barreled Gatling gun installations on the arms of these mecha combat groups emitted a ”dada da” sound of machine-gun fire, accompanied by flashes of bright light.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

A storm of bullets flew relentlessly towards the armed personnel on the missile boats and frigates.

While the bullets were still flying, something extremely terrifying occurred.

A rocket appeared out of nowhere, striking one of the mechas in mid-air.

Boom!

A violent explosion erupted in the air.

The intense light of the explosion immediately blinded everyone’s vision.

Douglas, Lu Guang, and all the journalists felt their hearts clench.

Everyone knew how powerful a rocket launcher was.

They were genuinely worried, fearing that the mechas might fall before even achieving success.

They dreaded that a single rocket would bring one down.

In that case, what they thought was ”big news” would turn into a ”big blunder!”

Almost all the journalists shared the same sentiment, staring intently at the location of the explosion.

Luckily, the explosion’s light quickly faded.

Soon, the journalists could see the aftermath of the explosion clearly.

They would have been better off not seeing it clearly.

As soon as they saw, Douglas’s pupils widened dramatically!

Lu Guang and several people on his team took a slight gasp!

Almost all the other journalists had similar expressions of astonishment.

Nobody expected that, despite the enormous power of the rocket explosion visible through the high-power telescope, it hadn’t inflicted any damage on the mecha, not even causing the coating to peel off!

What... what?

Could the mecha’s defense be so formidable?

It’s known that shoulder-mounted rocket launchers can easily penetrate steel plates between 20 to 40 millimeters thick!

And now, a rocket with such immense penetration power caused no damage to the mecha?

”Wow, this mecha’s defense is quite formidable!”

”Yeah, seeing that not even a rocket can cause any damage, ordinary rifles and other light weapons probably won’t affect the mecha at all.”

”This means that if it openly charges into a location, no matter how much protective power a person has around them, they cannot stop the mecha’s killing spree!”

”With such formidable defense alone, it is enough to make it the number one assassination weapon in the world!”

Douglas, Lu Guang, and all the remaining journalists were taken by surprise, astonished over there.

The journalists hadn’t had time to be too surprised when something even more terrifying happened.

Or rather, they finally witnessed the power of the ”six-barreled Gatling!”

The missile boat rushing at the forefront hadn’t had a chance to launch a missile before being targeted by one of the ”Not Eating Beef No. 1” mechas. Then, its two ”six-barreled Gatling” arms unleashed a frenzied barrage.

Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!

Hundreds of bullets instantly pierced through the missile boat’s armor.

And the combat crowd standing on top was blown to pieces.

Yes, not just falling, but blown to pieces.

What shocked Douglas, Lu Guang, and the other journalists was that every time these bullets hit an object, they seemed to set off a slight explosion.

But, surprisingly, what appeared to be a very slight explosion would immediately blow a hole with a diameter of four to five meters around the missile boat.

As for those bullets that missed their target, the light from the explosion reached a width of about seven to eight meters!

It was as if these weren’t bullets but small shells, their power comparable to shoulder-mounted rocket launchers!

The journalists observing the situation were once again in an uproar.

”Oh my God!”

”One bullet with the power of a rocket?”

”This is just too terrifying!”

”I don’t know how many bullets these mechas might carry, but given that one mecha just fired hundreds of bullets in an instant, it can be speculated that they can carry at least a thousand bullets. What does that mean?”

”It means, just the power of these mechas’ ’six-barrel Gatling guns’ is equivalent to over a thousand shoulder-fired rocket launchers!”

The reporters were even more astonished this time.

Especially some war correspondents on-site, who knew the power of shoulder-fired rocket launchers.

In comparison to the bullets fired from the arms of these mechas, the power is almost similar.

A thousand rockets fired simultaneously would definitely be an appalling thing.

The most crucial part is that this is just the power a single mecha can unleash.

How many mechas are there on-site?

Fifty full mechas!

That is, even if these fifty mechas do nothing but unleash the six-barrel Gatling guns on their arms simultaneously, they could unleash bullets equivalent to the power of fifty thousand rockets.

The reporters watched countless explosions being birthed in the sea, and everyone was dumbfounded.

Is this really bullets?

Even if you’re loaded with nuclear material inside.

Logically speaking, such a small bullet wouldn’t unleash such immense power.

Yet, what seemed impossible to them was happening vividly before their eyes.

Thus, the reporters were genuinely puzzled and extremely curious.

What exactly was loaded into those bullets to make their power so immense?

Unfortunately, they might not know at the moment.

Only Lu Li knows that the bullets are loaded with a small amount of ”volcanic ash rock” subatomic particles.

Although very little is loaded, the power unleashed when the ”volcanic ash rock” subatomic particles annihilate is so strong that a tiny bullet can unleash power equivalent to a shoulder-fired rocket launcher.

The battle continued.

At this moment, a top reporter from Europe, using a high-powered telescope, saw one of the mechas going against an Apache attack helicopter.

The Apache attack helicopter is generally equipped with two turboshaft engines, capable of a maximum flight speed of 315 kilometers per hour.

Therefore, it is very agile when flying in the air, dodging many bullets fired from the arms of the mecha.

Additionally, each Apache attack helicopter can be equipped with sixteen Hellfire anti-tank missiles.

These missiles have advantages such as long firing range, high precision, and immense power, using laser guidance, with strong anti-jamming capabilities, without needing target illumination support.

Perhaps seeing the machine guns continuously failing to hit.

The personnel swiftly fired the Hellfire anti-tank missiles.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Three Hellfire anti-tank missiles launched instantly!

It’s important to know that these missiles can penetrate one thousand millimeters of homogeneous steel plate.

The minimum attack speed is 1.3 Mach.

They are specifically designed to counter powerful weapon defenses.

The instant three Hellfire anti-tank missiles were fired, the reporters immediately realized that those Apache attack helicopters were going all out!

So, many reporters hurriedly adjusted their cameras, wanting to capture the frontal clash between the mecha and the Hellfire anti-tank missiles.

Unfortunately, the attack speed of the Hellfire anti-tank missiles was too fast, reaching the side of the mecha in the blink of an eye.

The missile’s speed is fast.

The mecha’s speed is even faster!

The reporters only saw the mecha once again initiating a super-high flight speed of 5 Mach, evading two of the Hellfire anti-tank missiles.

Then, this mecha, at lightning speed, charged toward the Apache attack helicopter.

The third Hellfire anti-tank missile was coming head-on.

All the reporters thought that the mecha would dodge like it did before.

Unexpectedly, the mecha did not dodge or flash, directly colliding with the third Hellfire anti-tank missile.

Bang!

A thunderous boom resonated in the air.

The reporters were shocked to discover that the Hellfire anti-tank missile hadn’t exploded yet, and it was knocked aside by the mecha.

And the mecha seemed unharmed, continuing to rapidly crash into the Apache attack helicopter.

Boom!

The Apache attack helicopter exploded instantly, becoming a massive fireball.

The mecha from before emerged from the flames, hovering in the air, displaying its might!

The terrifying speed, combined with a defense strong enough that even the Hellfire anti-tank missiles couldn’t penetrate, instantly astonished the two to three thousand reporters and teams present on-site!

The Hellfire anti-tank missiles, capable of penetrating a thousand millimeters of homogeneous steel plate, failed to penetrate the mecha’s defense, let alone alter its high-speed flight trajectory?

And then this mecha, with its super strong iron body, directly rammed and exploded the Apache attack helicopter?

A group of journalists shivered.

They all could imagine, if this mecha targeted a skyscraper, what terrifying events would unfold.

Not just the reporters shivering.

Even Chamos, commanding the ”pirates” on the frigate, turned livid!

The commanding personnel standing beside him also exhibited shock, instantly falling into silence.

”Beef-Free No. 1” has not yet shown its strongest power, yet it has already exceeded everyone’s imagination!

At this moment, whether it was Douglas, Lu Guang, and the two to three thousand journalists, or Chamos and the group of ”pirates” combating the mechas, they finally realized one thing, the terror of these mechas before them probably exceeded current technology by at least... a hundred years!
