Eternal Thief

After a while, Ace spoke, drawing everyone’s attention, “Alright, now that everyone knows about the Abyss of Wandering Souls and our purpose of coming here. Let’s discuss our roles and how we’ll proceed in the future.”

Everyone agreed with Ace since this mission was a huge deal, and it would be the first ever mission for the Thief Acolytes.

Ace continued, “Our main priority is to find the Ancient Remnant of the 8th Disciple of the God of Evil Occult. Three additional tasks require all House Members to not only actively participate in this mission, but also commit thievery and become famous in the Abyss of Wandering Souls.

“Although there is no reward for Thief Acolytes, helping your masters will bring you benefits, and even I’ll reward you if you perform well, so there’s no need to feel bitter about it. Furthermore, you all can use the facilities in the Thief’s House, especially the Time Acceleration Function of the Thief’s House, which will be greatly helpful to everyone.”

The Thief Acolytes’ eyes shone brightly when they heard the last part, as they all knew how magical the Thief’s House was, and cultivating inside the Thief’s House would bring them endless benefits. They were all motivated, as helping their superiors meant helping themselves, just as Ace had mentioned.

At this moment, Freya raised a question, “How does the leader suggest we go forward with roles? Furthermore, we have no idea where to start. If this Ancient Remnant is so precious, its information would be stored in a very secure location, or worse, it might not even exist physically. Someone powerful might be in possession of it.”

She then glanced towards Eva and smiled meaningfully, “Moreover, according to Abyssal Architect Thief, our identities as Heavenly Beings are very sensitive, and if exposed, we’ll paint a huge target on our backs. So, we also need to take care of this matter before going out.”

Eva smiled ambiguously and didn’t seem to be bothered by Freya’s objective and replied, “As expected of someone who is an expert at gathering intelligence. You don’t need to worry about the identity problems. I have two solutions for this problem.

“First, if you guys want, I have a way to change your bloodlines, but it’s permanent. Second, as long as you guys concealed your spirit Qi and spiritual pressure, you have nothing to be afraid of.

“Because the thief acolyte cultivation techniques are very magical. I have tested it with my thief acolytes. Not even a Half-Abyssal King can tell what kind of spirit Qi they have unless they use them.

“Although my Thief Acolytes used Abyssal Spirit Qi, I don’t think you guys would have any problem as well, since your cultivation techniques are from the same source. As for House members, I don’t think any of you will have any problem concealing your powers.

“We can also test my theory by simply stepping out of the Thief’s House right now. If you don’t feel the corruption of the Abyssal Spirit Qi, then everything I just said is true.

“As for your identities, it’s even easier, you see the place where the Evil Villa is located is filled with high-ranking Council Members. Pick whoever you want, and I’ll help you subdue them.” Eva sounded absolutely confident as she proclaimed.

Freya narrowed her eyes ever so slightly, but she no longer raised any objection since she couldn’t find any loophole in Eva’s words, and she also believed in Thief House’s capabilities.

As for changing bloodlines, no one entertains that thought. After all, turning into an Abyssal Being was like abandoning their roots, and they also couldn’t stay in the Abyss forever like Eva and her Thief Acolytes.

Ace was also pleased with how Eva handled it, and a big problem was solved quite easily. Furthermore, he knew the House Members had different ways to conceal themselves and also disguise methods, especially Winter.

“Let me add something.” Ace spoke at this moment, “I also have a way to change your bloodlines, and unlike Eva, my method has no limits on bloodlines’ grades or the person who wants to acquire it. You guys should know about Alina and Eva’s bloodlines, right?

“In the future, if you guys find suitable bloodlines for yourselves, keep them safe, and I’ll help change your bloodlines. But the bloodline needed to be intact. Other than that, if you find a rare or unique bloodline in the future, I need a drop of blood from that bloodline. So, in the future, keep a lookout for rare bloodlines; they are very useful to me.”

Ace’s words caused ripples in the silent hall as everyone looked at him with disbelief, especially the Thief Acolytes. As for the House Members, their eyes shone like the sun, especially Winter, Noa, and Freya, because they all knew about Alina and Eva’s bloodlines.

“And you’re only telling us about it now?!” Winter was the first to show her indignation as if she had been wronged.

Ace was slightly embarrassed because he only remembered it now, but he couldn’t tell them, so he played it cool and said, “I only recently acquired and completed this method. Furthermore, you guys were busy on your missions, so I didn’t get the chance to tell you. Anyway, now that you guys know if you found strong bloodlines, come to me, and I can help you change your bloodlines. The same goes for your Thief Acolytes. If I found a powerful bloodline, I’ll tell you guys, and you can decide among yourself who wants it.”

Although Ace’s promise seemed blank, no one dared to brush it off because everyone knew how heaven-defying Ace’s luck was, and he would definitely find another bloodline like he did for Eva and Alina.

Suddenly, the House Members looked at each other with a peculiar light in their eyes, and no one knew what they were thinking. As for the Thief Acolytes, they have no right to participate in this conversation.

Nonetheless, since they now knew Ace had the capability to grant powerful bloodlines without any restraint, they could search for them on their own.

Eva and Alina looked at Ace deeply as they had their thoughts.

Ace then quickly changed the topic, “Alright, since this is out of the way, let’s start by appointing roles. Freya and Winter will work together; one of you will oversee information gathering, while the other will use this information for infiltration and confirm the credibility of the gathered information. You can decide about your Thief Acolytes’ roles yourselves, I won’t interfere.”

Freya and Winter had no objections, as they knew their abilities complemented each other.

Ace then looked at Noa and said, “Noa is an all-rounder, while most of her expertise lies in assassination, so that she will be a free agent. She’ll help anyone who needs her set of skills, such as removing someone or sowing discord among the Council. I don’t need to tell you more. Her Thief Acolytes will also follow her command.”

Noa nodded without hesitation since she had no objection to this arrangement.

Then Ace looked at Alina and said, “Alina’s set of skills is unique, and she can discover hidden spaces and treasures. She’ll investigate any clues we acquired during our search. As for Lillian, she can’t leave the Thief’s House before she becomes your Thief Acolyte; she’ll die because of the corruption of Abyssal spirit Qi.”

Alina nodded in agreement while Lillian pursed her lips, but she couldn’t retort since Ace was looking out for her safely. In the end, she can only rely on Alina to increase her rank as soon as possible so she can help her.

Afterward, Ace looked at Zaria and said, “Zaria, start climbing the House Ranks; this is your only mission for now. Stay in the Thief’s House and cultivate. If you need anything, just give me a call.”

Zaria pursed her lips, but she was helpless as well, since she was also a Heavenly Being, and she didn’t have the protection of the system’s techniques. Furthermore, she would become weakest among the house members once she started to cultivate, so she could only stay in the Thief’s House and recover her cultivation first before climbing the House Ranks.

Ace then looked at Eva, who was also looking at him with anticipation. He thought for a moment before he said, “Eva, you will arrange theft targets for House Members until they all complete the House Missions’ additional requirements. Since you are familiar with the Abyss and Evernight Council, only you can do this with your expertise. You know where they stand, so I’m counting on you to select low-risk, high-reward targets that can also earn them massive fame in the process.”

Eva thought for a moment before agreeing, as this was a very important task and the final rewards would depend entirely on the house members’ performance, making her role quite significant.

“By the way, how’s your fame?” Alina suddenly raised a question as she looked at Eva with a hint of fighting spirit. She was clearly thinking about competing with Eva.

Eva’s lips curled up as she nonchalantly replied, “Hehe, it’s a surprise. You’ll find out soon, don’t worry.”

Alina pursed her lips but said nothing further. Nonetheless, everyone became curious right away, while Eva’s thief acolytes seemed to have a strange expression on their faces, but didn’t say anything.

At this moment, Ace’s eyes turned sharp as he said, “Since you guys know your roles, now we need a starting point, and I just happened to have a ’hint’!”
