Eternal Thief

Elder Maxwell glanced at Ace and, as if sensing the latter’s shock, he chuckled, “Magnificent, isn’t it? That monolith is the Prosperity Law Monolith, the foundation of our Prime Heavenly Wealth King Sect. It was placed there by the founder, the Prime Wealth King.

“You should know that what makes the top six king sects different from other King Sects is ’Law Legacies’. Law Legacies are actually the essence of laws, allowing others to help comprehend laws with little effort and their mystic abilities. These law legacies are the true foundation of the top six King Sects.

“Furthermore, a Law Legacy can significantly increase the chance of someone ascending to the Ascension King Realm. Only Prosperity Sky Division members can enjoy the benefits of cultivating around the Prosperity Law Monolith, and you are now one of them.

“With your talent, you should be able to comprehend the Prosperity Law within a month, and it’ll also greatly help you in your cultivation progress as well. It’ll be your fortune if you can also gain enlightenment in the Prosperity Law’s first mystic ability. But it’s challenging.

“Nevertheless, the Matriarch has given you a whole month to be here so you can assimilate your cultivation technique and comprehend the Prosperity Law. Consider a test of your talent as well.

“After this one month, you’ll be like others, with limited time, and if you want more, you’ll have to pay with sect merits. You can choose any cubicle; it doesn’t matter whether it’s closer or far from the monolith. You just need to place your badge to activate the formation within the cubicle, and as long as you have time, it’ll keep the formation active.

“Now go. Once you come out of the Prosperity Law Hall, I’ll be there, and then we’ll start your training. Oh, and try breaking through in the Ascension General Realm here; it’ll be greatly beneficial for you.” Elder Maxwell patiently explained.

Ace was astounded, as he knew he had learned another secret of the top six king sects. Furthermore, he wasn’t expecting something magical like law legacies to exist in this world.

’It’s like the law fragments from the system, but the difference is these law legacies contained complete law, and they didn’t seem consumable…’ A hint of thievish glint flashed past Ace’s eyes as he looked at the Prosperity Law Monolith.

He knew this monolith was an invaluable and priceless treasure. But he wasn’t delusional enough to think that he could steal it because if it were that easy, someone else had done it long ago.

After all, the allure of a law legacy shouldn’t be measured by common sense, since as long as someone gets their hands on this legacy, they can create a new PHW King Sect.

“Thank you, teacher. I won’t disappoint you.” Ace quickly thanked Elder Maxwell.

For the first time, he greatly appreciated this matriarch, but when he thought about that ’law contract,’ that wisp of goodwill vanished.

Elder Maxwell smiled in approval as he gestured for Ace to proceed. The old human seemed extremely hopeful about Ace.

Ace nodded before he moved towards a stone cubicle and opened the door. To his surprise, the space inside was quite large, completely different from what appeared from the outside.

’A space formation that can enlarge space?’ Ace was shocked as he looked at a 100-cubic-meter space. In the center of this space was a grand formation with a cultivation mat.

Once Ace closed the door, he saw a groove shaped like his disciple badge. He instantly remembered Elder Maxwell’s words and quickly placed his badge into the groove. The next moment, a runic web covered the entire door, and the spirit Qi density in the chamber started to rise.

’This is simply a heaven for cultivation…’ Ace was even more shocked, and without wasting time, he moved towards the cultivation mat.

Although his avatar’s cultivation solemnly depends on TP, he was still looking forward to experiencing this law legacy.

The moment he sat down, pure Spirit Qi surged into his body. The formation shimmered, and his mind cleared with startling intensity.

But before he could savor the sensation, his vision suddenly warped. The instant Ace’s vision shifted, he found himself standing within a boundless expanse of radiant gold.

Endless golden clouds drifted through a shimmering sky, while glittering rivers of flowing spirit light coursed beneath a translucent jade ground. In the center of this ethereal plane floated a colossal golden sigil, glowing with ancient runes and intricate arrays that pulsed with a rhythm like a beating heart.

“This is… the Prosperity Law?” Ace muttered in awe.

He could feel it in his soul—this place was not an illusion but probably a projection of the Prosperity Law Monolith’s Law Legacy, pulling his soul consciousness into a higher dimension of perception.

Then, it began. From the golden sigil, streams of insight—threads of golden light—flowed into his mind. Each thread carried a profound concept:

“Value breeds attraction.

“Circulation gives birth to abundance.

“Equivalence sustains fairness.

“Stored wealth stagnates. Shared wealth multiplies…”

The concepts weren’t mere ideas—they were truths.

As he absorbed them, Ace felt as if his mind was being reforged. His thoughts grew clearer, his senses sharper. He was beginning to grasp the surface truths of Prosperity Law.

The concept of time turned irrelevant.

But then, all of a sudden, everything stopped.

The golden threads of light suddenly refused to flow into him. The sigil dimmed, its brilliance retreating into a veil of resistance.

’Why did it stop?’ Ace frowned.

He tried again to connect, but something invisible blocked him. Then, all of a sudden, his consciousness instinctively looked inward, and what he found startled him.

A soft resonance pulsed from deep within his soul—the faint, mirror-like shimmer of his actual body was reacting! And then the world shifted again.

The golden veil before the sigil rippled and… cracked.

From beyond, it, a deeper realm revealed itself—a second golden sigil, far more complex and hidden beneath the first.

Ace was flabbergasted, ’What is happening?!’
