Eternal Thief

Ace was shocked when he heard Elder Maxwell recite and asked, “White Evil Secret Realm? I am ignorant. Please guide me, Teacher.”

Elder Maxwell nodded in approval when he heard ’teacher,’ and the old man seemed quite pleased. But when he thought of the ’White Evil Secret Realm,’ his expression darkened slightly.

“Sigh, we’ll talk about it later. Follow me first.” Elder Maxwell sighed with a hint of frustration before he led Ace towards one of the big five gates.

Ace was now curious but also helpless. He could not force the old man to reveal this information if he didn’t want to, so he could only follow.

Suddenly, Elder Maxwell asked, “What is your Prime Law and auxiliary law, and what is the grade of your cultivation technique?”

’The avatar of holy twilight only has a prime law…’ Ace couldn’t reveal this since this might cause inconvenience.

“My Prime Law is the law of Twilight, and the auxiliary law is the law of Dark. The cultivation technique I cultivate is Upper Mystic Grade.” Ace revealed.

Elder Maxwell glanced at him with a hint of astonishment, “Twilight Law? A unique law, huh? Heh, I cultivate the Law of Dusk, so it’s no wonder I was chosen as your instructor. The Law of Twilight and Law of Dusk, both laws are only comprehensible during the time of Dusk and Twilight, and their essence is based on the law of nature, light, dark, life, death, and such laws.”

Ace was astounded when he heard Elder Maxwell was cultivating the Law of Dusk; this was completely unexpected.

’That matriarch even sees through my law?’ Ace was even more fearful of the Ascension King now.

“Alright, since you cultivate the Twilight Law, my cultivation technique, the Myriad Nature Changes, perfectly suits you. It’s a lower Heaven Grade Cultivation Scripture, and one of our sect’s 18 Heaven Grade Cultivation Scriptures.

“The highest cultivation scripture is naturally the Prosperity Scripture of Wealth. Sigh, if only you were still in elemental state, you would’ve been qualified to cultivate. But now, you can only cultivate the Law of Prosperous Wealth as your auxiliary law through the Prosperity Scripture of Wealth.” Elder Maxwell stated with a hint of pity.

But Ace’s mindset was different from Elder Maxwell’s because no matter what grade the cultivation techniques were or what the law was, he knew better than anyone his own cultivation technique. Not to mention that the Avatar of Holy Twilight’s cultivation scripture was even more profound and ridiculously powerful.

However, he was still interested in the Law of Prosperous Wealth after his encounter with Pixy.

“Um, teacher, is the Law of Prosperous Wealth the Law of Wealth?” Ace questioned.

“Haha, it seems you have the same misconception as the others. Actually, there is no law of Wealth, at least it’s never been recorded. Furthermore, if there were a Law of Wealth, our sect would be the first to awaken it.

“However, your thinking isn’t wrong. Since there is the Law of Prosperous Wealth, there should also be the Law of Wealth. However, comprehending unique laws isn’t easy, especially bringing them to life from mere concepts.

“Just take our own laws, the Law of Dusk and the Law of Twilight, for example. These unique laws are born from the concept of Dusk and Twilight, but they only exist for a short period of time before they change into Day and Night.

“Laws are infinitely profound and ever-changing. At the end of it, no matter what kind of law you have, it depends on your own understanding of how to use it. Moreover, even if you can comprehend a law that has never been seen before, you’ll have a very hard time making progress because you have to search for its mystic abilities and understand it to a greater level.

“And you should know that without awakening at least three mystic abilities of your prime law, you can’t become a Grand Lord.” Elder Maxwell patiently explained.

’What?’ Ace was shocked because he had no idea about this requirement, at least, not in his cultivation technique.

Furthermore, his prime law originated from the Order of Darkness, which enabled him to comprehend ’rules’ instead of ’mystic’. This means he needed to comprehend three rules; right now, he only has two rules under his belt.

But what was even stranger was the Law of Wealth, which, according to Elder Maxwell, didn’t exist or, more accurately, wasn’t comprehensible by anyone to this day.

’According to Pixy, the Law of Wealth is a combination of Primordial Laws. Just how special is it?’ Ace’s thoughts wandered.

At this moment, Elder Maxwell stopped in front of the gate of Scripture Hall and opened it. An ancient air filled with dense spirit Qi spread out before a magnificent space that had revealed itself before them.

Ace was shocked because behind that door was not a library but an endless white expansion, and jade scrolls were spread everywhere like shining stars. Some were slightly brighter than the others, while some were as bright as the sun.

Almost instantly, a dwarf with burly built and widened appearance appeared between the space and Elder Maxwell, and abruptly start complaining, “I was wonder which old codger dare to open the Scripture Hall this time, and it turns out it’s old ghost Max!”

Ace was caught off guard, glanced towards Elder Maxwell, and saw that the latter’s expression was dark.

Elder Maxwell begrudgingly scoffed, “Old dwarf, I’m not here to squabble with you today. Quickly get out of my way, I’m here to impart a scripture on my student today.”

The dwarf elder’s expression sank slightly before he glanced at Ace, who was looking at him, and his expression sank further, “Another one? Have the Prosperity Sky Division really fallen to this extent that two humans can wantonly become Prosperity Disciples?”

“Hah, if you have any complaints, take them to the matriarch. She was the one who acknowledged them.” Elder Maxwell retorted, and seeing the dwarf elder’s expression changed, he mocked, “What? Afraid? If your dwarf race is so capable, why don’t you also select a few disciples and let the Matriarch evaluate them against my human race talents?”

The dwarf elder gritted his teeth and vanished, leaving behind a resentful remark, “Just you wait, old ghost Max. It’s not over between us!”

“Hah, I’ll take you on any time!” Elder Maxwell gloatingly scoffed, before glancing at Ace, “Don’t mind him, his small brain can only preserve his own race members. Let’s go!”

Ace didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He wasn’t expecting to witness something like this in the PHW King Sect, so he silently followed Elder Maxwell inside!
