Eternal Thief

Damien impassively scanned his surroundings with scrutiny. Although the Sky Stealer didn’t appear after the Prosperity Law Monolith was shattered, nor could he sense the Heaven’s Stealer’s presence, he first wanted to make sure that his target wasn’t here before searching the entire PHW King Sect.

The Prosperity Elders have a dense aura of sin around them, and Damien wasn’t surprised because they had all lived for thousands of years, and people of their status have committed all kinds of sins to reach their current position. It was the norm of the Cultivation World.

But what Damien was looking for was the Sin Aura of Theft, and those Prosperity Elders also have it because they had stolen from others in their lifetime, like fortuitous encounters, treasures, or their secrets. However, the Sin Aura of Theft on them wasn’t enough to arouse Damien’s scrutiny.

However, what surprised Damien was the sinister aura on the Prosperity Matriarch. She had an extremely dense aura of murder, greed, and betrayal, while the sin aura of Theft was the fourth highest among her sins.

’Just how much suffering she had caused and how many people she had backstabbed?’ Damien’s expression darkened with disgust.

If not for the presence of the Sky Stealer, Damien would’ve used the Judgment Field to bring down justice on Prosperity Matriarch. However, because of the limitation on his current powers, he can’t exhaust the Judgment Field’s power on the Prosperity Matriarch.

However, at that moment, when Damien averted his eyes from her and glanced at Ace, he was shocked and narrowed his eyes, a hint of disbelief crossing his face.

’How is that possible!? How can someone have no sin aura on them!?’

It turned out, ’Ace’ had no sin aura on him at all; he was just the same despite the presence of the Judgment Field. This could only mean one of two things. First, either Ace has never committed any sin in his entire lifetime, or second, he was too powerful for the Judgment Field to reveal his sins.

Damien instantly denied the second possibility because to render the Judgment Field powerless, ’Ace’ needed to be at least above the realm of the Ascension King.

But it should be impossible for someone above the realm of the Ascension King to exist in the Mortal Ascension King!

However, the first possibility was even more ridiculous because no one could be without any sins unless they had no emotions or consciousness. Yet, Damien has interacted with ’Ace’ and he was sure that Ace wasn’t such a being, in fact, he was sure that Ace had shown greed when he met him for the first time within the Law Legacy space.

For this exact reason, Damien was baffled by Ace’s peculiar situation; this was something he had no idea how to deal with.

On the other hand, Ace also felt Damien’s piercing gaze on him, and for a moment, his heart raced as he became alert.

’Did he find out!?’ Ace thought solemnly, but he didn’t move recklessly as he wanted to confirm this first, since this might be a false alarm.

Nonetheless, Ace was feeling uneasy ever since the Eye of Heaven had revealed itself, and he wanted to get far away from it as soon as possible.

“Who is he really?” Damien spoke at that moment, pointing at Ace.

The Prosperity Matriarch frowned and glanced at Ace, “What about him? He’s a Heaven Chosen. Although I admit he’s not like you, his talent is something that hasn’t been seen in the Mortal Ascension Heaven for countless years. Don’t tell me you are suspecting him?”

Because of the Blood Bondage Contract, the Prosperity Matriarch had absolute trust in Ace, and earlier, she had integrated him. Since he hadn’t admitted to claiming the Law Legacy, she believed him.

Furthermore, it was Damien who suddenly obstructed Ace from revealing the entire truth, which made Prosperity Matriarch almost believe that it was Damien who had taken the law legacy.

However, now that Damien had shown his prowess and mysterious abilities, she was biding her time and wanted to see what Damien would do. But now, he suddenly pointed his finger at Ace, making the Prosperity Matriarch doubt Damien’s credibility again.

Damien’s eyes narrowed as he looked at Ace, who stood there like a statue; even he could tell that Ace was under the Prosperity Matriarch’s control.

Furthermore, since Prosperity Matriarch was an Ascension King, and Ace was merely an Ascension Warrior, he shouldn’t be able to trick or resist her. That’s why Damien hesitates.

Nonetheless, he believed in the Judgment Field more than common sense. Furthermore, Ace was right there with him when the Heaven’s Stealer suddenly appeared, and he was the only witness who saw everything. Lastly, he was able to escape unscathed.

Damien didn’t think much of it and mused that Sky Stealer was in a hurry, so he didn’t bother with Ace and escaped. However, now, doubts started to arise in Damien’s mind as he looked at Ace with a hint of suspicion.

At this moment, Damien suddenly sent a Spirit Transmission to the Prosperity Matriarch, “Your highness, Prosperity Matriarch, you are the most senior cultivator here, and your wisdom is something no one can compare to. I’m going to share my vision of Eye of Heaven with you, and you should be able to see what I’m currently seeing. The Eye of Heaven can see…”

Prosperity Matriarch was startled when Damien suddenly sent her the spirit transmission. Then she was astounded by the details of the Eye of Heaven ability, a hint of realization dawning on her.

“…I want you to see Ace with the Eye of Heaven, and then please help me evaluate this phenomenon. Again, I’m not your enemy, and I’m on your side. So, please refrain from bias and offer your honest opinion. Because your sect’s honor is also on the line here!” Damien coldly stated.

The Prosperity Matriarch’s eyes flickered coldly, but she didn’t refute him and nodded ever so slightly since she was also interested in what Damien was trying to imply and what was going on with Ace.

The next moment, Prosperity Matriarch’s eyes suddenly shimmered with a golden hue before the surrounding scenery changed. She looked at Damien and was startled because Damien was surrounded by a thick white-golden mist like a celestial being, and she had no idea what kind of Sin Aura it was, nor did Damien have any intention of divulging such information. She was only told the general knowledge of the Eye of Heaven.

Prosperity Matriarch then curiously looked at the Elders and saw their sin auras, and she secretly remembered those with the highest sin auras of peculiar natures.

But it wasn’t about them, and she finally focused on Ace!
