Eternal Thief

“Umm, Mr. Heaven’s Advocate, is he your friend?”

Damien glared at Ace with a deadpan expression and coldly said, “You utter fool, that abomination is Heaven’s Stealer, the one I told you about. He’s the enemy of everything, and as a Heaven Chosen, it’s your duty to get rid of him!”

Behind his hood, Ace’s eyes flickered with killing intent. He didn’t like the way Damien had just called him an ‘abomination’.

“And who decides that I’m the enemy of everything? YOU? Heaven? Heh, I thought you were somewhat capable, but it turns out you are nothing but a puppet of your master. Tsk, tsk, I guess I was expecting too much from my so-called ‘chosen one’.” Ace sneered.

Damien’s killing intent instantly exploded, and without wasting any more words, the golden scale symbol on Damien’s forehead shone brightly, releasing a profound aura.

‘He’s getting serious!’ Ace’s heart raced, and his expression turned grave when he sensed Damien’s loathsome aura, which was making him feel extremely uneasy and agitated.

At this moment, behind Damien, a blurry, blindfolded, ethereal humanoid phantom appeared, holding a weight scale in its hand.

“O’ Sinner of Ages, succumb to Justice’s mercy, let the light purge darkness…”

“You think I would just stand here and listen to your nonsense?” Ace scoffed with a hidden hint of apprehension as he could tell Damien was activating something terrible.

Without hesitation, his cultivation power explodes, and a sword phantom appears behind him before his swords materialize in his hand. The moment his Primordial Qi surfaced, Damien’s presence instantly dwarfed.

Damien’s eyes widened when he sensed Ace’s cultivation realm was above his. Furthermore, he only now noticed that Ace was here with his actual body, not with his soul, and he abruptly stopped chanting the spell because a deadly pressure was locked on him when Ace raised his swords.

‘I need to get back to my body, or I won’t be his match!’ Damien might be arrogant, but he wasn’t a fool. In fact, he was extremely cunning and had many tricks up his sleeve.

The only reason he wanted to confront Ace here was that he thought Ace was no match for him and even weaker than him. After all, he was told that his lineage was created to counter Ace’s, and it was always Heaven’s Stealer who ended up buried because of Heaven’s Advocate.

Furthermore, Damien wasn’t fully prepared to confront Ace yet, and the Equilux Balance Ruler was supposed to be a part of his preparation to kill Ace.

However, somehow, Ace caught him unguarded and snatched away the Equilux Balance Ruler, which increased his strength and weakened Damien to a great degree.

He was naturally furious, and Ace’s presence also made him irate and filled him with hatred. That’s why he instantly decided to attack the moment Ace provoked him with his sharp tongue, without thinking about Ace’s own strength.

After all, it was the first time he actually met Ace face to face. Truth be told, before becoming Heaven’s Advocate, Damien was a thief himself, and he belonged to the same generation as Ace.

The Sky Stealer was the idol, a godly figure among thieves in the Mortal Sky Heaven. At one point, even Damien worshiped the Sky Stealer until everything changed, and he found that being a thief was only to gain experience, so he had a somewhat similar point of view of his enemy.

Now, for the first time, he witnessed Ace taking action, and Damien instantly knew that Ace wasn’t just good at theft; he was damn powerful, and taking him on in this form would be asking for a beating, and he’d be gravely injured.

Ace’s aura was already at its peak, and Damien was completely locked by his sword intent. He really wanted to get rid of this future trouble at this moment, right here and now, since he could tell he was more powerful than Damien.

“Heaven Sundering Sword…Sword of…”

Just when he was about to slash his sword, Damien muttered, “Just you wait!” The next moment, Ace suddenly lost Damien completely, and his figure vanished without a trace.

Ace was shocked.

“He escaped!?” He couldn’t believe it because he thought Damien was extremely conceited, and he wouldn’t flee so easily, especially in front of Ace, who was his arch enemy.

Yet, it seemed he had judged Damien wrongly, and he wasn’t a reckless fool; instead, he was cunning and decisive.

But then something suddenly struck Ace, and his eyes widened when he remembered Damien’s words before he vanished, “Oh, no, don’t tell me that guy is going to seek help and from…”

Ace finally remembered where they were, and this place was at the heart of the PHW King Sect. In fact, he already knew that Damien was doing this behind Prosperity Matriarch’s back to get the Equilux Balance Ruler, and then quickly fled the PHW King Sect.

However, Ace suddenly ruined his plans, and now that Equilux Balance Ruler is already in Ace’s hands, Damien can play the story as he wishes and even turn Ace into the villain and main perpetrator of this entire thing.

Even the Prosperity Matriarch didn’t believe Damien. It didn’t matter since the treasure was already in Ace’s hands. Since it was related to the law legacy, the very foundation of the PHW King Sect, the entire sect would come after him like bloody hounds.

In fact, Ace might lose his life in this place under the siege of so many experts, especially the Ascension King or Kings.

Ace glanced at his avatar, and suddenly, his lips curled up in a cold sneer.

“Well played, but if you think I only come after this treasure without contemplating my options first, heh, you’re in for a huge surprise.”

The next moment, Ace’s body vanished and appeared within the soul of his avatar. Not even Damien could tell that this avatar belonged to his arch enemy. Now, Ace was even more confident in his plan.

Furthermore, even an Ascension King can’t see through the secrets of the Avatar of Holy Twilight. Lastly, Ace has a free ‘escape pass’ that will be activated very soon.

That’s why he dares to show himself and risk exposing himself and snatching the treasure from Heaven’s Advocate!
