Eternal Thief

The entire Prosperity Law Hall was now in ruins, and in the place of the Prosperity Law Monolith was a vast pit.

An eerily silent loom over the place, and despite the dense mystical spirit Qi, no one present took notice.

There were 23 disciples cultivating within the Prosperity Law Hall, including Ace and Damien. Except for the latter two, the others were dumbfounded and utterly confused.

“It was Sky Stealer who did this!” An enraged roar of boundless hatred reverberated within the hall like a thunderclap.

Those Prosperity Elders and Steward Jesper, who were in a daze, instantly snapped out of it as they focused on the sources of this voice. Not only that, but when they heard the possible culprit behind this disaster, their gazes turned icy cold.

Although they weren’t privy to the hidden knowledge except for Steward Jesper, they all knew that the Prosperity Law Monolith was the lifeblood of the PHW King Sect, and one of the main reasons they could be called the richest sect and one of the six top sects of the Mortal Ascension Heaven.

But now that it has been destroyed, it was a huge calamity for the sect. If the news of this event were to spread, many malicious gazes would turn towards them. Not to mention, the Prime Heavenly Bank’s reputation would also suffer a blow.

At this moment, before the Elders could react, a golden streak of light suddenly bolted towards the voice’s direction at an unimaginable speed.

When the Prosperity Matriarch appeared, she still seemed regal, yet her complexion seemed ashen and her aura chaotic. She clearly took considerable damage while trying to stop the Prosperity Law Monolith from being destroyed, and then she was the closest when the blast occurred.

Nonetheless, she didn’t seem to care about her appearance at all. In fact, madness and murder swirled in her eyes as she looked at the owner of this voice.

Damien was also pale at this moment, and his appearance was slightly disheveled. It was clear that escaping under Ace’s law intent and primordial spell came with a price, especially since he was in soul state.

However, Damien was now under Prosperity Matriarch’s killing intent, and he could feel her madness and barely suppressed rage. He knew if he played any trick, she wouldn’t hesitate to attack him with full force. She was only enduring because she seemed to have a glimmer of hope about the hidden secret being preserved!

“It was the thief, Sky Stealer! He infiltrated the legacy space!” Damien revealed, while hiding the crux of the matter, that himself being present there first.

Prosperity Matriarch’s eyes flickered with a hint of shock and incredulity, “How do you know about the legacy space? Since you’re so confident, does this mean you were there as well, in the legacy space?” Her aura instantly increased as she focused on Damien without missing anything.

“Instead of interrogating me, you better start searching for that thief! He has already gotten the ‘legacy item’ of your sect! If you don’t believe me, ask the other guy; he has witnessed the entire thing! I’m not lying! Search for him before that thief escapes!” Damien was filled with indignation as he couldn’t believe the Prosperity Matriarch was still suspicious of him.

Furthermore, he was shocked that he didn’t sense Ace’s presence at all, which should have been impossible. If Ace had entered the legacy space, the only entry would have been through the Prosperity Law Hall formation or from direct acknowledgement of the Prosperity Law Monolith.

That means he should’ve exited here no matter what trick Ace had used to sneak up on him and snatched the treasure.

‘Why is my Heavenly Justice Sense failing!? WHY???’ He was going mad with frustration. He even forgets to mask his ability to resist the Prosperity Matriarch’s aura without any difficulty at all.

Nonetheless, the Prosperity Matriarch also wasn’t paying attention to these details at this moment. The moment she heard Damien’s words, her expression changed. “There was someone else? Who!?”

‘Wait, did that guy manage to escape?!’ Damien also seemed to remember this point, as he had nearly forgotten that he had abandoned his new ‘friend’ and left him in the jaws of the ‘beast’.

He quickly looked around and finally saw Ace approaching the group of Prosperity Elders with a confused and terrified look on his face. No one was paying him any mind, and everyone was looking at Damien.

However, the moment Damien locked on Ace, everything followed his gaze, and Prosperity Matriarch was the same. The moment she saw who Damien was looking at with a somewhat astounded expression on his face, her eyes contracted.

“It’s him!” Damien pointed at Ace without hesitation. “But we need to find Sky Stealer first!”

He insisted on finding Sky Stealer because he still hoped to crush the treacherous fellow right here and now, or at least snatch the treasure back.

After all, among everyone here, only Damien knew how terrifying Sky Stealer was when it came to thieving. Furthermore, his biggest strength wasn’t his power, it was his myriad escaping abilities.

Damien knew that the more time they wasted, the more chances of Sky Stealer fleeing successfully.

Ace stiffened when he felt cold glares on him and heard Damien’s accursed voice. He almost slipped away while Damien had drawn everyone’s attention to himself, and a moment ago, Ace was even cheering for him. ThegenuinearticleresidesonM|V|L&EMPYR.

Nevertheless, he knew he couldn’t escape, so all he could do was act. Furthermore, he knew the Prosperity Matriarch wouldn’t suspect him at all because of the ‘contract’.

The next moment, Ace suddenly felt a terrifying pressure that locked him, and his body was dragged towards Prosperity Matriarch without any ability to resist.

Once he was right beside Damien and in front of the Prosperity Matriarch, he could only show a pale and fearful expression.

“Tell me what happened!?” Prosperity Matriarch coldly questioned as her eyes flickered with strange, invisible runes.

At this moment, within Ace’s eyes, the same runes mirrored, and his expression became stoic as he impassively said, “It all started when I was suddenly dragged into the strange space of the Prosperity Law Monolith…!”
