Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1389: Chapter 102: Miniature Mecha

Staring in astonishment at Fatty and the swarm of enthusiastic scientists, responding fluently to various questions about mechanical technology, Helen, Meiduo, and the bandit army leaders behind them were somewhat bewildered.

No one could understand, when did this Fatty become an expert in bottomless inquiry? Looking at the bunch of nerds who were so excited they were incoherent, it was as if they’d met their idol. It seemed this tasteless ID was actually quite famous in the scientific community.

Outside the crowd, Barbara’s charming and alluring eyes grew colder.

She could see that the Feiyang scientists next to her, although trying hard to remain calm, had eyes filled with eagerness when looking at Fatty. What unsettled her even more was that the high officials from several armament corporations, no matter where they stood or the glances they exchanged unknowingly, were filled with caution.

And when they looked towards Fatty, their eagerness surpassed that of the scientists.

An originally solid camp was now showing cracks due to the introduction of several advanced technologies and Fatty’s blatant provocations in person. This left Barbara feeling caught off guard.

This feeling instinctively reminded her of last night’s scene.

”Alright, alright,” Professor Haifer clapped his hands, stopping the scholars’ endless questions, and said to Fatty, ”General Tian, if there’s anything else good, let’s bring it out together.”

He glanced at the high-ranking officials of several armament companies and the Feiyang scientists whose eyes were flickering, and said with a smile, ”Coincidentally, Fulong Sword Company also has a license to produce Thunderbolts. If the engine issues can be resolved, I suppose the Thunderbolts produced by Fulong Sword Company might be even more promising.”

Haifer’s words instantly silenced the entire observation room hall.

The faces of the several armament corporations changed immediately.

The Twelfth Generation Thunderbolt was developed jointly by the Fei Alliance countries. In the previous agreements, besides the Feiyang Republic, both the Ryan Republic and the Chuckna Republic had their own production licenses.

Originally, this posed no threat to Feiyang’s armament manufacturers. They knew that without the critical technologies from their systems, others could only produce simplified versions even if they tried. However, after witnessing the things Fatty demonstrated, the situation had fundamentally changed. If Fulong Sword Company obtained these technologies and combined them with their Thunderbolt blueprints, the mecha they produced would undoubtedly be far more advanced than those of several major armament companies.

As this war approached a crucial battle, relying solely on the orders from various countries, Fulong Sword Company could leap from the seventh-largest armament company to the largest one.

Haifer’s move was ruthless! The high-ranking officials of several armament companies glared at Haifer viciously. They didn’t know whether Haifer acted out of trust in Fatty or because of Chuckna’s support for the bandit army, or perhaps he merely took a gamble. In any case, his words had completely tied him and Fulong Sword Company to the bandit army.

Does he not realize that if Fatty can’t deliver something better, Fulong Sword Company not only has no chance of becoming the largest armament company but might also face an onslaught from enraged other companies?! At that time, let alone producing full mecha, they couldn’t even hope to get a share of the Thunderbolt mecha parts orders.

The complete mecha is controlled by several armament companies; deciding whose parts to use is just a matter of words?!

Fatty patted Haifer’s shoulder, smiled, and stood up.

All eyes focused on Fatty. The engine is the core part of the Thunderbolt. Now, it depended on whether Fatty could come up with something more advanced than Vaughn Company!

The faces of the high officials of several armament companies were rapidly changing. Suddenly, Robinson, a high official from the third-largest Meteor Company, stepped forward and said to Fatty, ”General Tian, may I have a word?”

Fatty was taken aback, then grinned sheepishly, glanced at Barbara, nodded, and quickly walked aside with Robinson to whisper a few words. They shook hands.

Barbara, whose smile was still unchanged under everyone’s gaze, became a mask of coldness only those who knew her well would recognize.

No one knew what Robinson and Fatty talked about, but it was no longer important. Clearly, in that instant, Robinson had already made his choice. His action was equivalent to openly siding with the bandit army.

It was a difficult decision, and he might regret it in a few minutes. But he made it.

Robinson did not return to his original position, nor did he glance at Barbara. He stood quietly on the spot, watching Fatty walk towards the central data platform, his heart racing.

After speaking, his mind finally seemed to clear.

Even Robinson himself didn’t know why he suddenly made such a decision. Logically, he should have waited for Fatty to showcase his full capabilities and then secretly connected with him. However, at that moment, when Haifer spoke, he suddenly felt that if he didn’t show some stance right there, he might miss this opportunity forever.

The main business of Meteor Company isn’t mecha.

Originally, if anyone was to make friendly overtures to the bandit army, it shouldn’t have been Meteor Company. However, Robinson knew how eager the entire top management of Meteor Company, including the big boss Matt, wanted to surpass Vaughn Company in the mecha industry, let alone trying to outdo Martin Company.
