Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1385: Chapter 100: Counterattack_2

The generals were anxious, unsure of what Fatty was planning.

”Beep!”

Amidst the chaotic observation room, a clear electronic sound rang out.

The central computer, which had been computing, finally scored Thunderbolt’s final comprehensive combat capability. On the screen, the score of eight thousand six hundred and ninety-two exceeded everyone’s expectations, yet the anticipated cheers were nowhere to be found.

Everyone was listlessly awaiting.

Soon after, the door to the testing hall opened, and a mecha slowly walked into the hall, standing beside the test model of Thunderbolt.

”Ranger?” Barbara frowned.

Seeing this mecha, designed with Fatty’s appearance, everyone’s curiosity was immediately piqued.

This bandit army-produced mecha was mysterious to the crowd. However, during the bandit army’s attack on the 31st Army Base, officers from various countries stationed data collection devices around the base’s buildings and had gathered nearly complete performance parameters of this bandit army’s main mecha.

Though data differences due to collection targets or equipment varied, one thing was certain: this bandit army mecha was definitely a tenth-generation mecha.

Not to mention Thunderbolt, even the Eleventh Generation Long Sword held an overwhelming advantage over this mecha.

An overwhelming advantage usually implies that among mecha warriors of the same rank, when piloting different generations of mechas, the new-generation mecha warrior’s win rate exceeds seventy-five percent during battles ignoring random factors. This means that the Twelfth Generation Thunderbolt’s win rate against Ranger exceeds ninety percent.

”General Tian,” Feng Zhi glanced at the disdainful looks from the surrounding Feiyang scientists and whispered to Fatty, ”What is this.....”

Fatty proudly pointed at Ranger: ”My secret weapon.”

The generals exchanged glances, silently shaking their heads. Secret weapon? Once the bandit army appeared, this mecha became everyone’s focus, and during the battle against the 31st Army, the mecha’s performance data had already been scrutinized thoroughly. Perhaps elsewhere, such a tenth-generation mecha would dominate, but in this venue, gathering the top Fei Alliance scientists, in front of Thunderbolt, ahead by two generations, what could possibly be proud in a tenth-generation mecha?

”The engine is the main act, we’ll save it for last,” Fatty picked up the microphone from the control panel and ordered Ranger in the test hall through the loudspeaker; ”Markovich, come up so everyone can see clearly.”

Come up? Everyone was puzzled as they saw Ranger activate, enter combat mode. The auxiliary thruster on its back started up, and the several-ton-heavy mecha lightly flew outside the observation room’s transparent glass, hovering in mid-air like a hummingbird fluttering near a nest.

Ten seconds, twenty seconds, one minute, two minutes...... As time passed, the scientists who originally didn’t understand suddenly changed their expressions. A frenzied crowd, the elegant scholars in white research uniforms, simultaneously rushed to the glass. Several generals were jostled by the eager scientists around them.

”What’s happening?” Tatania Admiral Schutzman, born a Space Navy Commander, evidently hadn’t caught on. He softly asked Tatania’s chief scientist, Shawn, beside him.

”Obstacle-free movement! General!” Shawn’s eyes were fixed on Ranger outside the transparent observation room, he said hastily: ”With the assistance of the auxiliary thruster, the mecha instantly starts, performing airborne hovering and maneuverability similar to a helicopter.... Oh, my God, it’s surpassed five minutes...”

Although Shawn’s explanation was nearly incoherent, he no longer needed to speak. The term ”obstacle-free movement” was like a spark, igniting the eyes of everyone present.

For modern armored warfare, these words were famous. Pursuing superior cross-country mobility for mechas had been the dream of mecha designers.

The Ranger before them, although only hovering several meters in the air, its graceful movements, stable flying posture, and continuous flight time demonstrated its impressive short-range flight capability. This implied that mechas could traverse steep mountain cliffs as if flat ground, cross rivers directly without bridges, and entire mecha battalions could bypass defensive lines and delve into enemy territory from unimaginable locations!

This was obstacle-free movement. Leray Lieutenant General Tian Xingjian casually dropped the first heavy bomb!

Generals from various countries simultaneously flocked to the glass window. Schutzman turned to see Admiral Puditok Hurst and Silliac Admiral Houseni’s delighted eyes.

Fatty lit a cigarette, glanced at Barbara and the starry-eyed Feiyang scientists beside her, and indifferently said: ”If my mecha hadn’t been destroyed during the Canglang Star breakthrough, even when the Jiepeng 2nd Armored Division used all its might, it couldn’t have captured me in the southeast mountains of Beiguan City.”

No one doubted Fatty’s words. Looking at the hovering Ranger and considering the Twelfth Generation Thunderbolt and mechas used by Fatty and his Mechanical Gods at that time, everyone had to admit, if Fatty had been piloting Ranger with such a thruster, the southeastern mountains of Beiguan City wouldn’t have been a dire trap, but rather Fatty and his Mechanical Gods’ killing paradise!
