Chapter 1387: Chapter 101: Getting to the Bottom of Things

”Mr. Robinson, I think you should come take a look.” Professor Ruteler turned back, speaking to a senior official from Meteor Company with a voice trembling with tension.

When everyone’s eyes focused on Robinson, who was wearing a dark blue suit and had a sturdy build, he frowned slightly, clearly in a dilemma.

This middle-aged man with short red hair and a plump, rosy-cheeked face was different from the research-focused, socially clueless Professor Ruteler. As a senior official of Meteor Company, every move he made bore responsibility for the company.

Robinson glanced at Barbara and smirked inwardly. In such a setting, being part of Barbara’s camp, how could he just walk over like that?

It was worth noting that standing beside Barbara were high officials and chief technical advisors from four other super enterprises. Besides the top-ranked Martin Company and second-ranked Vaughn Company, there were also the sixth-ranked Black Forest Design Institute and eighth-ranked Murphy Armed Company.

While these companies haven’t completely aligned with Leefer, as collaborators, they had a mutual understanding.

With the Hastings era nearing its end, no one in the domestic scene of the Feiyang Republic could compete with Leefer for the position of future leader in the military realm. Under Barbara’s consolidation, most of Feiyang’s financial powers had already gathered under Leefer Group. The magnitude of this force was terrifyingly enormous, something not easily felt by outsiders!

Even though Meteor Company was the third-largest arms dealer with strong capabilities, Robinson knew that if he recklessly walked over, Meteor Company would soon face combined attacks from several other companies. Coupled with Barbara’s influence in the military and political sectors, perhaps starting from tomorrow, Meteor Company’s previously complete operational system would be riddled with vulnerabilities.

It could be that strategic materials regulated by the Feiyang Government couldn’t be supplied, or that orders contributing substantially to Meteor Company’s profit reports might get canceled. Perhaps there could be malicious obstruction suddenly occurring during bidding, or endless harassment in financial, import and export approvals, and other aspects.

In short, this was absolutely not a good idea.

As the chief technical advisor of the Mechanical Department, Professor Ruteler’s expertise was beyond doubt to Robinson. In fact, as a senior mechanic himself, he yearned for the blueprints of the thirty-two-point transmission system. However, one technology couldn’t compensate for the losses Meteor Company would suffer as a result.

”Time is short, let’s talk later.” Fatty smiled and gestured to the indecisive Robinson: ”Mr. Robinson, you may be more interested in our engine technology.”

The wry smile on Robinson’s face grew bitter. The wary glances from his peers made it clear to him. When a technology that could determine a company’s future and fate was at hand, even such an obvious provocation from the Leray Fatty was still effective.

Professor Ruteler’s unabashedly shocked expression upon seeing the blueprints already spoke volumes about the real value of the thirty-two-point transmission technology. Along with the previous stealth technology and Hummingbird propulsion technology, these three technologies acquired by any arms dealer would immediately change the current market landscape.

War is the golden age of arms dealers. In this war sweeping through all of human society, what having leading technology means, even the janitors in the few major arms companies could understand.

Next, what technology will Fatty present to make the major arms dealers anxious and nervous?!

Does he truly possess more advanced engine technology?!

Robinson quickly glanced to his left. Kedun, who was just proud and confident, now seemed far less composed. Robinson could even see the beads of sweat densely covering his forehead. Looking past Kedun, Robinson saw the sullen face of a Vaughn Company official standing beside him.

Robinson was very familiar with this Vaughn Company official. He was a mild-mannered man. Robinson had never seen this man glare so fiercely at the most treasured chief technical advisor of his company.

Closing the blueprints and removing the folder, the sleepwalking Ruteler professor walked to Robinson’s side. Fatty chuckled softly and said, ”With the Hummingbird propulsion’s instant acceleration capability combined with the thirty-two-point transmission system’s advancement, I just claimed Thunderbolt’s power transmission is improved by eighty-three percent, and speed by thirty-eight percent. Surely no one has any doubts?”

Most scientists present shook their heads simultaneously. Fatty’s assertion about the Hummingbird technology, paired with the far advanced transmission technology, wasn’t in the least exaggerated; rather, it was conservative.

”Next, let’s take a look at our power storage device.” Fatty waved his hand as a few bandit army soldiers carried a power storage device measuring eighty centimeters in length and width, and forty centimeters in height into the observation room, placing it in the center.

The previous transmission system was just a blueprint, but this time, it was tangible. Scientists around quickly squeezed towards the center, trying to get a clearer look.

”This is a power storage device I developed myself,” Fatty crouched down, patting the black casing of the power storage device with his hand, while his right hand tapped a guard button hidden in his sleeve. Numerous diamond-shaped metal pieces extended, tightly enveloping his hand. On the back of his hand, a silver metal piece spiraled open, revealing a metal sphere in front of everyone.
