Chapter 1366: Chapter 92: Drawing the Sword

”Atlantis, how much longer can it hold?”

After a while, Fatty withdrew his gaze from the crystal chandelier.

Bernadotte replied, ”Probably four to five more months.”

His silver spoon slowly stirred in the coffee cup: ”We’ve estimated that once the Southeast United Expeditionary Army withdraws, the defense strength at the Newton Jump Point will decrease by at least forty percent. The Western Alliance cannot be unaware of this. By then, even if Russell is fiercely fighting from behind, they will intensify their offensive against the Newton Star System.”

After stirring the coffee for a long time, Bernadotte found himself in no mood to drink. He stood up and strolled over to the window. Through the old wooden window, he looked at the walls of the backyard covered with evergreen vines and the moss on the rockery by the pond in the corner.

”The silver lining is that the Galileo Star System doesn’t need to worry for now. Currently, defending the Galileo Star System are the forces of the Tatania Freedom Alliance and the Puditok Federation. Although this part of the force is now under Fiscella’s command, they are clearly more willing to stay in the Southeast Star Domain to help us fend off the Desic Empire’s invasion.”

Fatty leaned his head against the back of the sofa.

He knew the forces Bernadotte was referring to. They were the allied forces that joined the Leray Federation for combat when he and Douglas fought in the Gazalin Pyrenees Battle.

At that time, Fiscella, under Marshal Hastings’ command, drew the main force of the Desic Fleet. When the Desic Fleet desperately rushed back to aid the Little Pyrenees, Hastings suddenly made a move, commanding the united fleet of Tatania and Puditok to collaborate with Russell’s Leray Fleet to regain control of the Galileo Star System in one strike.

It was after this battle that the Western Alliance simultaneously lost the Little Pyrenees and the Galileo Star System, and the famed general of the Naga Federation, Liebgoet, returned home in dismay. Nearly thirty of Gazalin’s most elite armored divisions were left on the main star Lucerne of the Galileo Star System.

After Bermuda fell, the Southeast Expeditionary Army, composed of the Feiyang-Chakna Joint Army retreating to the Leray Central Star System, merged with the Feiyang-Leine Joint Army of the Southeast Expeditionary Army entering Gazalin from the Knevel Four Nations Alliance, forming the current Southeast Expeditionary Army. This also included the Tatania-Puditok allied forces that participated in the Leray combat of the Galileo Battle.

If it were a few days ago, perhaps these allied forces from different countries would still be indecisive under Fiscella’s command. However, after the bandit army severely defeated the 31st Army, Chakna clearly stated that the Chakna forces currently in the Leray Federation would not leave with Fiscella. The leadership of both Tatania and Puditok also expressed their willingness to continue cooperating with Leray to persist in the battle.

Although these united forces only have the scale of five A-level fleets, at this crucial period, they are the most important power for Leray to maintain a lifeline. War never relies on one person winning a victory. Facing the external Western Alliance and the internal Leefer, it is time to unite all forces that can be united.

And tit for tat, it seems I should do something.

”By the way, here is a list.” Bernadotte turned from the window and walked to the sofa, handing a miniature electronic file folder to Fatty, ”I’ve talked with General Russell, this is the list of bandit army staff members we’ve jointly selected for you.” He said while sitting on the sofa and taking a sip of his coffee, continuing, ”Besides your own people, the others are advanced commanders rescued by General Russell during the coup, and some are my subordinates.”

Fatty opened the list, carefully browsing through it.

”The bandit army is no longer a small-scale force,” Bernadotte cautioned, ”Since it’s positioned by Marshal Hastings as a partner of the Fei Alliance, it must have corresponding strength. Unless absolutely necessary, both General Russell and my opinion are to forbid you from personally charging to the frontline.”

”Well then,” Bernadotte glanced at the time, ”I have a meeting to attend, I am leaving now. Review the list carefully and let me know if you have any questions.”

Bernadotte left the study. After his farewell with Helen in the living room, the door closed, leaving the study silent.

Fatty looked at the names on the list in his hand.

Zhou Zhisen, a name he was once very familiar with, a former Major General and division commander of the Leray Air Marine Corps 16th Armored Division, now promoted to Major General. His characteristics are meticulous and adept at defensive warfare. This was evident from when Bernadotte placed him in the toughest spot on the Kato Front.

Mickey, a Federation Vice Admiral. Former Chief of Staff of the Leray Space Navy 5th Group Army. A space fleet combat expert skilled in large-scale mobile ambushes. When seeing this name, Fatty’s face couldn’t help but twitch... This man is Milan’s father, his father-in-law. Since the war began, he continuously fought at the Bermuda Star System and Leray Central Star System fronts, once presumed missing in action and confirmed dead. Yet unexpectedly, he was hidden in Bernadotte’s contingents.

How much strength have these old guys preserved for Leray?

Fatty continued looking through the list. It was long, and there were many familiar names, such as Colonel Pete, Caleb, and Pearce, whom he once rescued. Caleb and Pearce were originally retired in the Central Leray Star Domain and engaged in other careers, but this time they have come to Chakna as liaison officers for the bandit army and the alliance command center.
