Counterfeit Hero

”Since we have the funds, I suggest we quickly establish a procurement channel,” Chekov was momentarily stunned but quickly reacted, saying loudly, ”We still have a significant gap in resources, especially in terms of weapons.”

Everyone immediately snapped back to reality, echoing in agreement, and the discussion heated up as if nobody had heard Fatty’s question. The scene was lively yet bizarre.

Fang Xiang glanced at Fatty, who was still counting his fingers in a daze, with a look of mixed amusement and exasperation. She finally understood how this army, which openly identified as bandits, drove shabby warships to play the fool and daily trained and researched all sorts of unsavory tactics, came into being. With such an eccentric and whimsical supreme leader, it was imaginable how chaotic this army’s style could be.

”By the way... how’s our warship refurbishment going?” Fatty leaned over and asked, ”How much longer will it take to complete the carrier?”

”The main structure is already finished, but the other parts will need another week,” Fang Xiang glared at the Fatty, who could leap from thoughts of inflatable dolls to warships, and said, ”However, to form combat capability, it will take several weeks for system testing and verification.”

”That fast...” Fatty was somewhat excited and asked expectantly, ”What about the two battleships?”

”Today is the final testing day for the battleships, the day they leave the dock,” Fang Xiang instinctively glanced at the time, her emotions also affected by Fatty, becoming excited. If not for welcoming Fatty, this would have been the most significant moment for the bandit army.

These warships are Saleria battleships, which naturally held different significance for Fang Xiang. They were not only the greatest contribution of the Saleria to the bandit army but also the foundation of the bandit army’s current growth.

She smiled and inclined her head slightly, ”Want to go have a look together?”

Fang Xiang’s suggestion immediately garnered the support of Chekov and others. The thought of the battleships entering the fleet’s combat sequence made everyone a bit impatient.

After this battle, the bandit army managed to establish a foothold in the Mars Free Channel. This group exploded from a destroyer, over a thousand pirates, and a dilapidated base into the current massive force with two space bases, six training infantry divisions, two armored divisions, three battle fleets, and a logistics fleet.

However, compared to the regular fleets of the Western Alliance countries, the bandit army was still too weak. According to the previous Leray standards, the current main warships were only at the cruiser level of a bandit army fleet, merely equivalent to a B-level fleet of a regular fleet. Those faction sub-fleets and over a thousand captured Northern Alliance vessels were useless when encountering regular fleets!

Therefore, the current core force of the bandit army is the two battleships and one aircraft carrier being refurbished!

This is a cutting-edge force that money can’t buy! Once the refurbishment is complete, the bandit army’s strength will leap to a new level. Not only will it be able to move freely in the Freedom Channel and determine the fate of the commerce group pirate fleets, but it will also have the ability to attack the Western Alliance’s transport fleets! Those transport ships carry military supplies; taking a bite would be highly rewarding, more than a hundred times better than the yield from robbing ordinary commerce groups and smuggling fleets!

Amid the crowd’s clamor, Fatty naturally didn’t dampen their spirits and promptly waved his hand, striding towards the exit, ”Let’s go, let’s take a look. Just in time, I also have something to show you.”

Exiting the command room, a group of senior officers noisily made their way to the dock.

Fatty, walking at the front, was the most excited; having funds and a fleet with aircraft carriers and battleships was unimaginable before!

Having money and warships means power!

The memory of being eight years old, clutching money and begging the Leray subsidiary headquarters of Spring Hall to produce the discontinued [Swinging Hips and Turning Head] A-type classic professional attire inflatable doll, and being sternly refused, reappeared in Fatty’s mind.

One day, leading warships to storm in, would the boss of Spring Hall dare to utter half a ’no’ from between their teeth?

Thinking of the childhood disappointment and pain, now finally having the hope of compensation, Fatty trembled with excitement. As for becoming a president or marshal, he never thought about it, as that didn’t align with his ideals. How could one engage in acts of bullying under the spotlight of public scrutiny?

Walking into the dock, Fatty was the first to see the newly constructed mobile dock number two, with the aircraft carrier under construction inside.

In the oval-shaped mobile dock, thousands of workers, mechanics, and engineering mecha were like ants, standing on countless mobile workstations or within the aircraft carrier’s unsealed frame, working busily. Instruments, naval guns, and bizarre parts were being hoisted up by mechanical arms. The entire dock was filled with blinding flashes of sparks and constant machine rumbling and clanging sounds.

Beneath the transparent floor of the dock, the massive completed main body of the mothership was visible. The part being constructed in the mobile dock now was the top layer of the aircraft carrier’s bridge, including the fire control radar and other electronic systems. As a mechanic, Fatty knew that these electronic control systems were installed after the mechanical systems. Judging by the progress, it wouldn’t be long before the aircraft carrier’s overall construction would be complete.

Passing through the mobile dock, following the semi-circular metal passageway, and through several sealed doors, they arrived at dock number one near the harbor. Ascending the highest central control platform, two massive battleships appeared before everyone’s eyes.
