Counterfeit Hero

On June 27, 2063, having made ample preparations and fully controlled the Central Leray Star System, Desic and the Jiepeng Army performed an airdrop on the Leray Capital Star. The Brody Regime signed a treaty announcing Leray’s accession to the Western Alliance and declared the unilateral opening of the Leray Channel. On the same day, the Newton and Galileo Star Systems of the Lerayyate Atlantis Star Domain issued announcements condemning Brody’s act of selling out the country for personal gain. They also declared that they do not recognize any documents signed by the fraudulent Brody regime and that the federated states within the two large star systems will resist to the end.

On June 28, 2063, the Chuckna Republic and the Suss Empire continued to commit forces to the battlefield of the Resk Star System. The stalemate persisted, and both sides were evenly matched. On this day, three Chuckna fleets entered the Public Star System of the Southeast Main Channel via the Resk Jump Point, searching for the Suss Fleet. It was the first time since the outbreak of the Chuckna War that they returned to the main channel. The Suss expedition fleet, based on Saleria Blue Stone Star, became highly tense. The main force withdrew from the Leray Central Star Domain, and scouts spread everywhere. The battle for the main channel was imminent. On the same day, Mikami Yuto, Admiral of the Eastern Southeast Joint Command of the Western Alliance, recognizing the strategic importance of the Southeast Main Channel, dispatched three Jiepeng mixed fleets through the Leray Bermuda Star System into the Longbow Star System of the Saleria Republic, cooperating with the Suss Empire to control the main channel.

The war persisted, fiercely ongoing. Countries maximized their production to supply the war efforts. Invasion and counter-invasion, attacks and defenses, unstoppable advances or panicked retreats. Acres of fertile land were trampled. Cities turned to ashes under overwhelming artillery fire, the tidal wave of Mecha, and the swarming fighter jets. Planets became scarred and battered in the flames of war.

The war demon was unleashed from its cage, wreaking havoc. Buildings collapsed before it, life withered away, blood flowed, and civilization regressed...

Every inch of land on the interstellar map of human society was groaning painfully amidst smoke and war fires. Yet this war seemed to have just begun.

The continued deterioration of the Leray situation led many Leray people on the Capital Star to embark on a journey of escape. Their destinations varied, but their purpose was the same: to flee the Central Star Domain, to flee the Capital Star now occupied by humiliation. Various types of ships floated in the vast space.

These Leray people, heading toward an uncertain future, did not know that when Leray’s Capital was seized by the Western Alliance, some Leray soldiers, far from the mainstream view of human society, were still fighting in a shadowy region.

On June 27, 2063, New Era. Victory in the defense of Puluo Town. Under Selwal’s orders, all Northern Alliance armed forces laid down their weapons and surrendered to the bandit army at Puluo Town.

Upon receiving the news of the Northern Alliance’s surrender at once, the bandit army quickly exploited the time gap during which the Longxing Association was uninformed to seize the Northern Industrial Zone of Central City. They dispatched large convoys to various ports under Northern Alliance control to snatch materials.

On the same day, the Longxing Association deployed a large force to advance on various major port cities.

On June 28, the Longxing Association and the Puluo Town bandit army jointly issued a global command, ordering all separatist forces to immediately send representatives to participate in the formation of the Mars Free Government, lifting the state of division and restoring social order.

On the same day, the first batch of 105 separatist factions at Mars Free Port announced their obedience to the command.

On June 29, seeing that the alliance between the Longxing Association and the bandit army had gained control of Mars Free Port, the remnants of the Mountain Breaker Sect, after negotiations with the Puluo Town bandit army, announced they were joining the Puluo Town Sect Mutual Aid Alliance. Meanwhile, the remaining Absolute Kill Stream, with just over a hundred members left, and the Tai Sect, which had retained half its strength, after contacting the Longxing Association, announced they would lay down their arms and accept the leadership of the Longxing Association, participating in the establishment of the Free World government.

On June 30, the second batch of 270 separatist forces announced their obedience to the command. Mars essentially returned to normal order, and the formation work of the United Free Government began subsequently.

On July 1, the Bandit Army Second Fleet, consisting of four Armed Merchant Ships, sixteen Escort Ships, and over twenty Transport Ships, arrived at Mars Free Port. They occupied Puluo Town and the Central City West District, taking control of eleven air ports belonging to the Northern Industrial Zone. They took over the Northern Alliance’s fleets located in various channels, totaling over 1,600 ships of various types, and over 100 ships from the Mountain Breaker Sect fleet. The bandit army began secretly transferring personnel and materials.

On July 2, the Longxing Association attacked Lille Port, destroying two battalions of the Suss 401 Armored Group, which were defending the port. Colonel Chuck and part of the force left Mars on a Suss Transport Ship docked at the air port belonging to Lille Port, whereabouts unknown.

On July 3, small-scale skirmishes broke out between the bandit army and the Longxing Association over the scramble for materials. Nearly a hundred people on both sides participated in the brawl, with dozens injured and hospitalized.

”Damn it, daring to attack our people.” Fatty leaped three feet high: ”Brothers, grab your stuff!”

In the spacious meeting room of Scadivow Base, a group of Sect Masters drank tea and chatted with smiling faces, largely ignoring the bouncing Fatty.

Even Markovich and a few others glanced away, exchanging wry smiles.

Since capturing Selwal and the entire leadership of the Northern Alliance, Fatty had squeezed out every ounce of resources. The weapons, equipment, and materials the Northern Alliance had obtained from the Suss Empire were completely accepted, and the bandit army took advantage of a time gap of more than two hours to seize the most crucial industrial base in Mars, the Northern Industrial Zone of Central City, before the Longxing Association.
