Counterfeit Hero

”I was wrong.” Mrs. Easton was crying and making a scene, banging her head on the ground so hard it made a banging sound: ”I was blind, I’m not a human. I shouldn’t have listened to Trisha. I was forced.”

The woman’s face changed quickly, on her face full of ferocious flesh, her small eyes frantically squinted and blinked, squeezing out two grains of tears hanging on her swollen eye bags, crying loudly, while Aiji next to her hurriedly echoed, both mother and child desperately pushing the blame onto Trisha and the already unconscious Keo.

Trisha was both shocked and angry, loudly refuting, and the three of them argued fiercely.

But soon, their voices abruptly stopped.

”Eden Chalin”

”Clive Ditch”

”Clover O’Gavin”

”Bobett Nagel”

”Wada Yuuta”

”.....”

One familiar name after another, one pale face after another.

The cheering stopped, the Leray refugees quietly watched as those who once rampaged around this Space Station, making a fortune by killing, abducting, and kidnapping Leray people, were dragged out from every corner by bandit soldiers holding lists. Beside them, the ship owners, crew, smugglers, and merchants stood dumbfounded.

More than two hundred names, more than two hundred people, and.... more than two hundred body bags laid out in the center of the square!

”Your good days are over.” Carl finished his list he meticulously crafted, showed a cold smile, waved his hand and said: ”Execute it.”

People who were at a loss soon understood the meaning of this sentence. Under everyone’s eyes, two burly men, like catching chickens, stuffed a pale middle-aged man into a body bag. Then, they dragged the body bag and put it into the dismantled lifeboat chute. With a slight sound, the body-bag was ejected into space.

People turned their heads, outside the Space Station’s porthole, the body-bags curled and struggled in the void. Although sound could not travel in space, people could clearly hear the wails from inside the body-bags. Soon, the twisted body-bags quieted down, like a black meteor, gradually drifting into the depths of the universe.

Everyone’s eyes have frozen. Watching the bandit soldiers sneering on the square, looking at the dozens of muscular men performing this terrifying execution like cold machines, these people who had gradually become accustomed to treating Leray people like livestock, were blank. They knew the Leray people would retaliate, but they didn’t expect such retaliation to come so fiercely and quickly!

The Thunderbolt-like methods of the bandit army were so straightforward and ruthless, it made their scalps tingle.

The square instantly became like hell. However, cries of wailing, screams, and pleas had no effect.

Dozens of burly men moved skillfully and smartly, no matter how these people cried, struggled, their actions did not slow in the slightest. Two strong men picked one up, while another pulled a body-bag over, zipped it. Then they sent it down the chute.

No hesitation, no mercy. After several minutes, the space outside the Space Station’s porthole was already filled with body-bags.

”Spare me!” Mrs. Easton, bound hand and foot, struggled desperately on the ground like a squirming maggot, her face covered with snot and tears, cried out hoarsely: ”Spare me, I was wrong, and I won’t dare again. I am willing to be a slave to atone, I don’t want to die, spare me.”

Her voice had completely changed tone. Sharp, loud, heart-wrenching.

By her side, Trisha, Keo, and Aiji had different expressions. Their eyes filled with blood streaks. Their bodies trembled violently. Trisha laughed miserably, Keo emitted beastly death-knells from his throat, Aiji banged the ground pleading for a way out, his crotch soaked in urine from losing control. This torture of slowly approaching death made them mentally collapse.

Although there were many people in front, eventually their turn came.

Keo was put into a body-bag and sent into space, followed by Aiji. The moment the zipper of the body-bag was pulled shut, this brutish thug’s expression completely twisted. The appearance of a desperate ashen death color.

When Mrs. Easton was lifted by two grinning burly men, the will to live exploded with energy throughout her body, she writhed and struggled desperately, pleading...

”No! I beg you, aww.... spare me.” She kicked her legs, her body sinking downward, her face of extreme terror turning from side to side, her voice bursting out from her throat, like being slashed by sharp steel blades, she was out of breath: ”I was wrong, I truly was wrong. I beg you, spare me, spare me!”

No one paid her heed, a large body bag was drawn over her, and as the executor brutally zipped it, her voice became unusually muffled.

”Umm... spare me, I beg you.”

When being dragged toward the chute, Mrs. Easton still did not give up, twisting desperately in an attempt to escape control, and when thrown into the chute she desperately tried to cling to the sides, attempting to climb upward.

But all was in vain.

In her desperate struggle, as the ejector rapidly moved, the body bag slid like a bar of soap into water, sent into space.

People could clearly see this woman, who had been energetic from beginning to end in her continuous screaming, struggling particularly fiercely in the body bag. In the low temperature, in the vacuum, she remained conscious for more than twenty seconds. After those extremely painful twenty seconds, she stopped her struggles, drifting silently into the group of other body bags out of sight.

”What would it take for you to let me go?” When the disheveled Trisha was lifted, she stared intently at Carl.

Big Head Karl laughed maliciously: ”Just like you never let the Leray people you harmed go, we, in no way, will let you go!”

”Wait!” As the zipper of the body-bag was about to reach the top, Trisha shouted. The executor stopped, leaving behind a pale face between the slowly sealing body-bag zipper.

”Change the way of dying....” Trisha’s voice was drawn out of her throat: ”With a gun, poison, anything.”

”No.” Carl cruelly rejected her, he said lightly: ”You will die as we see fit, you have no choice.”

The body-bag was zipped up.

Trisha, who had maintained her silence, suddenly began struggling violently, crying, screaming. As if wanting to burn all her life within these last few seconds.

After the ejector’s slight sound, all sounds disappeared.

Carl slowly turned his head, looking at the nearby crowd already drenched in cold sweat, and smiled slightly, ”Remember, never, never bully Leray people. We have lost our homes and people, we are but worthless lives. We don’t reason.”
