”Are you Miss Meiduo?” Old Hake asked.

Meiduo bit her lip, hesitated, and finally nodded.

”Then that’s right!” Old Hake excitedly rubbed his hands together, ”We’re here to rescue you, madam!”

Madam? Meiduo’s face grew even paler.

”We’re all Colonel Tian’s men!” Old Hake, oblivious to how much he had frightened Meiduo, smiled and stomped on Keo’s face: ”Good thing that big-head guy recognized you, if anything had happened to you, I would have slaughtered this entire Space Station 106!”

”Colonel Tian?” In Meiduo’s mind, it was as if a thunderbolt had struck. The small knife in her hand clattered to the ground. Tears suddenly burst from her eyes: ”The Colonel Tian you mentioned, is... is he called Tian Xingjian?”

Clayton stood lost in the massive circular control room of the Space Station, staring out the window.

In front of him, a battered cruiser was cutting a beautiful arc across the starry sky. With the movement of this warship, the rotating turrets on the port side aligned like dozens of steel needles attracted by a magnet, precisely aiming at the ship’s aft side. Moments later, a blinding flash of white light zipped past, shredding a heavy escort ship belonging to the Rifle Association fleet with an Energy Cannon.

The cruiser elegantly and precisely completed its turn, and alongside it, five equally battered Armed Merchant Ships were executing a synchronized salvo. This time, the victims were two similarly classed Armed Merchant Ships of the Rifle Association.

Mixed Cannon shells hitting these shabby warships only stirred up ripples of blue energy shield, while each of their synchronized volleys reaped the lives of the Rifle Association fleet.

In the distance, another crumbling cruiser led its group. They prowled unhurriedly, shooting with precision, making the Rifle Association fleet look like lambs on a butcher’s block beneath their endless assaults.

Clayton laboriously moved his eyes, watching the fleet scuttle back and forth across the sky, slicing and decimating the Rifle Association fleet piece by piece, feeling a bitter taste in his mouth.

At first glance, he recognized these warships — ”Shattered Ghost”. This pirate fleet was just as people described them, appearing on the Freedom Channel like ghosts. Before this, no one had ever seen them.

But these very dilapidated warships had raided over two hundred fleets and plundered more than thirteen hundred vessels in just one or two months. Even the giant corporate material fleets, Security Group fleets, and other pirate fleets could not escape their Magic Palm. No matter how brazen and battle-hardened, everyone considered this fleet a nightmare of the Freedom Channel!

Clayton didn’t want to encounter this nightmare.

Ever since the Mars Sect war began, he had been treading on thin ice, jittery with every step. Not only had he summoned all Rifle Association warships back to Space Station 106, but he had also spent a fortune purchasing a Fortress Cannon from the Saleria Longbow Star System! He racked his brains to connect with the Northern Commerce Alliance, a dominant force on Mars.

Clayton knew that once war broke out, Space Station 106 would sooner or later become a coveted prize in others’ eyes. In the Free World, the original rule was survival of the fittest, and during wartime, no one cared about sentiment or justice.

Only after receiving assurance from the Northern Commerce Alliance did Clayton feel slightly at ease. You reap what you sow, and he wasn’t bothered by the money he’d spent. As long as he could protect Space Station 106, he could earn all the money back! Here, he was the ruler, the god of everything!

However, he never imagined that all his efforts would become a shambles in an instant.

The war report on the control room computer showed that the Fortress Cannon installed on the Space Station was destroyed by a synchronized salvo from the Shattered Ghost fleet before it could fire a single shot. Now, the Rifle Association’s patrol fleet cruising outside Space Station 106 had been annihilated, and the warships that ventured out to engage met the same fate. Under the fire blockade of the enemy’s two cruisers, the remaining ships couldn’t even leave the port!

Clayton had to admit, this damned fleet had come at the worst possible time.

Just twenty hours ago, twenty Northern Alliance Armed Merchant Ships and sixty-five Escort Ships were stationed in Space Station 106’s port. Their Commander Yibu was still clinking glasses with Clayton, standing arm-in-arm with the most beautiful woman on the balcony of the highest, most luxurious room of the Space Station, looking down at the bustling crowd below, enjoying everything that power brought him.

At that time, no one dared to covet Space Station 106.

But who would’ve thought, just as Yibu received orders from the Northern Alliance headquarters and left Space Station 106 with all his ships, the ”Shattered Ghost” fleet, notorious along the Mars Channel, swooped in! Moreover, this fleet was more formidable than the rumors suggested. Not only did they possess energy shields and Energy Cannons, but they also had two fully militarized cruisers!

”Find a way to contact the Northern Alliance Fleet immediately.” Clayton paced around the room like a trapped beast, knowing that the Northern Alliance Fleet was his only hope: ”They shouldn’t have gone far!”

The communications officer immediately executed Clayton’s orders.

The signals beeping, the keyboard clattering, and the calls echoed throughout the room.

As the image of the Northern Alliance Fleet Commander gradually appeared on the virtual screen, Clayton grabbed the communicator fiercely: ”Yibu! We’re under attack, it’s Shattered Ghost, please save me, my friend, you must come back quickly, only your fleet can save me. Their firepower is too strong, my fleet can’t even leave the port now....”
