Counterfeit Hero

There are two announcements.

The first is a sincere recruitment announcement with generous conditions. The second is a stern ultimatum to disband all illegal organizations.

These two announcements, issued in the name of the Eastern Alliance Military Command, were signed by Fiscella and Cheng Zhixuan. Clearly well-considered, the wording is exceptionally clever.

In the first announcement, they subtly reminded all major forces on Mars of the fact that the Fei Alliance now controls Mars. Immediately after, in the name of the Southeast Allied Army Command and Fiscella, they made a special recruitment call to Mech Knights of the major mechanical sects. The conditions offered range from citizenship in the Fei Alliance to personal military ranks and commendations, not to mention the benefits and weapons of A-grade troops. Extremely generous. Moreover, the announcement declared a welcome for sect leaders to join the formation of the Mars Autonomous Government. If they are willing to enter politics, they will receive staunch support from the Fei Alliance.

If the first announcement is the carrot, then the second announcement is clearly the stick aimed at the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance.

In this announcement, the Fei Alliance Southeastern United Command declared Mars to be under the jurisdiction of the Fei Alliance, and all organizations not registered and approved by the Fei Alliance are considered illegal. To establish a unified autonomous government, all sects, associations, mercenary armies, and commerce groups must apply for registration, or face annihilation. In consideration of Mars Free Port’s unique social structure, there can only be one Sect Alliance. The Fei Alliance will hold a Mecha Fighting competition, following Mars’ tradition, to determine the leadership equivalent to the Mars Autonomous Government.

The two announcements are not long; it takes only about ten minutes to read them, yet their implications could take days to fully comprehend.

Su Kezhou admitted that these two announcements are indeed a brilliant combination punch by Cheng Zhixuan and Fiscella against Fatty.

The title and interests provided in the first announcement are beyond Fatty’s reach and are impossible for the ordinary mechanical sects to refuse. And the second ultimatum is like a strike on Fatty’s vital point. Being illegal poses a threat to any sect not willing to comply, as they face potential attacks from the Fei Alliance. To maintain their sect’s integrity, they must apply for registration. And to be legal or illegal, isn’t that ultimately up to Fiscella to decide?

Coupled with the lure of a Mecha Fighting competition to contend for the Sect Alliance leadership, heaven and hell are just a thought apart. Which sect wouldn’t weigh and recalibrate their calculations repeatedly?

Fatty is just one person after all, unable to offer these conditions. He himself is still under Fiscella’s leadership. One is the commander of the Southeast Alliance Army offering generous conditions from above; the other is wandering the Free World, clearly being oppressed from below. Who to choose? Anyone with an IQ over 80, except an idiot, would understand!

But oddly enough, the ones Cheng Zhixuan and Fiscella are scheming against is Fatty!

Seeing Fatty with that lewd expression, raising his eyebrows and squinting his eyes, Su Kezhou really wanted to scold Cheng Zhixuan, the idiot, profusely!

Cheng Zhixuan and Fiscella’s exquisite and flashy combination punch landed in thin air. The Fatty before them is just sitting there, toothpicking, burping and watching a monkey show!

The bandit army has long been sent off; with Fatty’s tactics, how could those sects, having left Mars, be beyond his control? Moreover, back then several major sects, in such perilous conditions, publicly flocked to what was once weak Puluo Town, allowing Fatty to dismantle and reassemble their armed sects in the face of the Northern Alliance’s attack. They swore a determined resistance. Who would believe that Fatty holds nothing attractive enough to them?

The prettier Cheng Zhixuan and Fiscella wrote this announcement, the more blood they might cough up later.

”Ordering me to sign the announcement?” Fatty flipped through the order that came with the announcement and reached out: ”Get me a pen!”

A staff officer handed over a pen. Fatty grasped it, tilted his head, gritting his teeth as he wrote the three crooked Chinese characters ”Tian Xingjian” next to Fiscella’s signature. Then he noticed something amiss, and covered the ”Jian” with a black blot, writing it anew. Embarrassed, he said, ”.....it’s been ages since I’ve signed my name.”

Studying his signature for a long while, he sighed deeply, ”As expected of General Fiscella, so shrewd and cunning. Now let’s see how the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance struggles against this. Damn it, these guys crossed the river and dismantled the bridge. Now, God knows where they’ve run off to. If I ever find them, I’ll crush their yolks out!”

Saying this, this mean fellow with papers shoved up his nose raised the original announcement towards Su Kezhou: ”Old Su, why don’t you...sign one too?”

Su Kezhou forced a smile, shook his head and said, ”I belong to the Chuckna Military Department and have nothing to do with General Fiscella’s Southeast Joint Army. I don’t need to sign this document.”

”We are all allies of the Fei Alliance... just for practice…” Fatty eagerly said, ”Come on, sign one, it’s a rare opportunity.”

Su Kezhou closed his mouth. This guy, so out of touch with reality, hardly resembled a general commanding heroic figures... he felt genuinely sorry for Cheng Zhixuan. As his old partner, he couldn’t imagine Cheng Zhixuan’s expression once he knew the outcome.

Of all people, why mess with this Fatty?

Looking at Fatty’s sincere gaze, Su Kezhou only felt drained of strength. This Fatty is born a carefree rascal, with a mind running wild, doing whatever he pleases, unmatched in causing chaos and acting the fool. Any tactic in front of him is utterly useless.
