Counterfeit Hero

Facing hundreds of Leray people with eyes full of hatred, the effect of these knives is imaginable.

”What do you want to do?” Trisha shouted sternly while secretly tugging Keo, giving him a look.

Keo was taken aback but immediately understood, stepped back two steps, and turned to rush into the hotel lobby. He didn’t know if these people were here for that Leray woman who hadn’t managed to escape the hotel yet! However, no matter what had happened, having an ace up his sleeve was always right.

But, just as he rushed to the door, a large foot in thick-soled hard leather boots kicked him squarely in the face. With a muffled thud, Keo, like a bag of broken rag, flew forward with both feet off the ground, flipping 270 degrees in the air before crashing to the ground.

His back of the head hit the ground, bleeding profusely, clutching his face, rolling and howling in agony. When he lifted his head again, one of his eyes was but a bloody hollow; his entire face was covered in bloody holes.

Seeing this scene, Mrs. Easton let out a piercing scream, rolling her eyes back, fainting several times but unable to pass out.

Old Hake appeared at the hotel door with a sinister smile, behind him a few burly men shielding Meiduo.

”Trying to snatch someone in front of me, you’re still a bit green.” The old guy revealed his smoke-stained yellow teeth, laughing sinisterly, with shoe soles raised high, vividly showing rows of blood-stained small nails.

Looking at Keo rolling and howling on the ground, Trisha and her gang were clueless. Never in their wildest dreams did they think these Leray people would dare to be so ruthless to Keo.

”Guards!” Trisha opened her collar-pinned communicator, screaming in fright, ”Help, someone!”

Seeing hundreds of Leray people closing in on her, Trisha’s face turned pale, her speech erratic, frantically shouting like a machine gun: ”Stop right there, who sent you, do you know who I am, this is rebellion, when the guards arrive, you’ll all die!”

”Guards?” Carl shook his big head, curling his lips into a malicious smile, pointing to the giant skylight above: ”Are you expecting the Rifle Association to save you now?”

Trisha and the others looked up to the sky. Mrs. Easton was the first to scream: ”Oh my God. Oh heavens.....”

In the short, sharp screams of the obese woman clutching her chest, shabby warships were passing in neat attack formations, gliding across the starlit sky outside the skylight. As the main cannons and rotating turrets of the warships flashed white light in succession, countless energy cannon light clusters swept across the void, and moments later, the space station trembled violently once more under a massive explosion.

”Shattered Ghost!” Trisha’s complexion changed drastically, not pale but an extreme fear-filled ashen gray!

Thousands of ships were plundered, hundreds of space stations and docks ransacked..... Legend had it, this fleet composed entirely of ragged warships had long been depicted as terrifying devils.

”Magnificent, isn’t it?” Another volley of ship cannons, as Carl coldly remarked, watching the energy cannon light clusters streak past the skylight like a meteor shower: ”Forgot to tell you, this is the Leray people’s fleet.”

The Leray people’s fleet....... Carl’s words, like a bayonet, stabbed into the hearts of Trisha and her gang.

At that moment, Mrs. Easton’s legs gave out, collapsing to her knees. Her son also lost all traces of pretense, eyes wide in terror.

”Impossible! How could the Leray have a fleet in the Freedom Channel!” Trisha yelled: ”Even if it is your fleet, so what, thinking of capturing this place is a dream! The Rifle Association has already contacted the Northern Alliance, your mere warships aren’t enough even as gaps between the Northern Alliance’s teeth! Guards, guards!”

”Shout, shout as loud as you like.” Big Head Karl sneered, like a wicked big-headed lecher: ”See if anyone comes to save you.....”

No one came. The guards usually spread across the streets had vanished without a trace. Keo was still rolling on the ground, emitting heart-wrenching painful groans from his throat. However, facing hundreds of Leray people holding chairs and wooden sticks, closing in step by step, Trisha couldn’t care about her own brother at this moment, gritting her teeth, telling the thugs: ”Don’t be afraid, we have knives. Charge out!”

Following her order, the thugs surrounding her frantically waved their knives, attempting to intimidate the surrounding Leray people and carve out a path.

”Ignorant fools!” Carl waved his hand, commanding: ”Gang up!”

The hundreds of pirates at the forefront could no longer hold back. They all surged forward. Just then, in the sky, benches and wooden sticks were waving up and down, amidst continuous screams. In moments, several of Trisha’s subordinates had already been beaten bloody, falling to the ground, convulsing and wailing.

Trisha, Mrs. Easton, and Aiji, were unharmed, only kicked in the leg, then pressed to the ground on their knees by several strong men. The three of them were like quails in a deep fryer.

This gang beating, really held no suspense.

Watching everything unfold before her, Meiduo was somewhat dazed.

She had just seized the chaos to grab a fruit knife, but she didn’t expect the situation to change in the blink of an eye. Those who just governed her fate, now had become prey under others.....

”You all.....” Meiduo’s knife was still pointed at her heart, as she looked at the old pirate: ”You are.....”
