Counterfeit Hero

The strategist standing behind Fatty was stunned as soon as he saw the list. He looked at Cheng Zhixuan with a sense of disgust, like he had swallowed a fly.

The strategist was a Leray person, drifting through the Free World with Fatty alongside the Blue Rose. During this period, the army suffered indescribable hardships. It was as if they struggled bit by bit in despair to reach this situation. Without Fatty, this bandit army would not have existed at all.

But now, the Fei Alliance issued an order trying to assign the most elite part of the bandit army to some Southeastern Front Army Command as direct troops. How is this different from outright robbery?

When Leray fell, where were they? When the Blue Rose drifted through the Free World, where were they? Now they say everyone is under the Fei Alliance Command. Yet back when Fatty was raising the bandit army in Puluo Town, facing countless enemies, why did the Longxing Association not say a word? Didn’t they know Fatty’s identity then?!

The room fell into a deadly silence.

Su Kezhou sat quietly holding a teacup, deeply thoughtful. To be honest, he did not support reaching out to pick the peaches at this time.

Currently in the Southeast Battle Zone, the Western Alliance has the great general Mikami Yuto commandeering the forces. The Three Great Empires—Suss, Jiepeng, and Desic—not only occupy the Saleria Longbow Star Domain, the Chucknaresk Star System, and the Leray Bermuda Star System, but have also opened the Leray Channel. From an overall situation perspective, the Fei Alliance is at an absolute disadvantage.

Following the Feiyang Republic launching a full-scale offensive against the Binart Empire, the Fei Alliance Command’s strategy for the Southeast Battle Zone focused on restraint, in coordination with the Chuckna Republic. The goal was to firmly hold the forces of the Western Alliance’s Three Great Empires, preventing them from using the Leray Channel to reinforce Binart.

Currently in charge of the whole Southeast Battle Zone for the Fei Alliance is Fiscella.

The forces from Leray, Gazalin, Knevel, Puditok, and Tatania fall under the command of the Southeast Allied Army Command led by Fiscella. Together with the independent Chuckna Republic army, they form a joint operational stance between the Eastern Theater and Southeast Battle Zone.

Hastings knows the Chuckna people will not follow Fiscella’s command, so within the Fei Alliance Joint Army, he has designated Chuckna as an independent section under his direct coordination.

The Longxing Association, led by the Chuckna Military Department, naturally remains part of Chuckna. The bandit army led by Fatty is seen as a part of the Leray Army, under Fiscella’s command. Cheng Zhixuan is one of the coordinating officers exchanged between the Chuckna Military Department and the Southeast Allied Army Command.

The order was issued by Fiscella, but the suggestion came from Cheng Zhixuan. After being redeployed to the Southeast Command, Cheng Zhixuan immediately established contact with Fiscella. The two hit it off almost instantly.

As the Leray Brody regime defected to the Western Alliance, Leray’s position within the Fei Alliance has been steadily declining.

Although the Leray Atlantis Star Domain continues to resist, Vice President Flavio, visiting Chuckna, temporarily assumed the presidency according to law, forming an exile government. At the same time, Bernadotte was appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Supreme Command Department, leading Leray in continued resistance, exhibiting a full stance. However, this does not change the status of a small country reduced to exhaustion in this war. Now, the Fei Alliance Joint Army’s decisions hardly require Leray’s opinion.

Upon Cheng Zhixuan’s suggestion to break up the bandit army led by Tian Xingjian and assign its elite to the newly established Mars Front Army Command directly, Fiscella immediately expressed support and issued the command.

Cheng Zhixuan intends to extract those powerful civilian Mech Knights from Fatty’s grasp, while Fiscella simply does not trust any Leray person, let alone Fatty. To him, the more power Fatty holds, the harder he becomes to command. Who knows, one day that Fatty might join those guys from their country who defected to the Western Alliance.

Moreover, according to Hastings’ guidance on the Mars Free Channel, to prevent threats to the main channel, this region must be controlled by the Fei Alliance. Of course, the Fei Alliance here does not include the Leray Federation, whose allegiance between the Western Alliance and Fei Alliance is unclear!

In this world, power speaks louder than words. Thus, the order was issued decisively, without even notifying Leray’s current Supreme Command Department. It wasn’t necessary, nor did they bother to notify.

In Cheng Zhixuan and Fiscella’s view, once the order is issued, Fatty has to execute it, whether he wants to or not, with no room for negotiation. Should he dare to defy orders, they would readily haul him before a military court.

But Su Kezhou did not think the same.

As expected, Fatty coughed, spat on the paper printed with the order, and wore a satisfied expression while casually crumpling the order and tossing it into the trash can, muttering, ”What nonsense... childish!”

”You!” Cheng Zhixuan shot up with an exclamation, face red with shock and anger, finger pointing at Fatty: ”You are defying military orders!”

”Is this how you speak to a superior?” Fatty’s expression suddenly darkened, his face turned frighteningly cold as he shouted sternly, ”Sit down!”

This ferocious shout bore a murderous aura honed from countless battles. Cheng Zhixuan and Su Kezhou both felt a chill in their hearts.
