Counterfeit Hero

Once the Pandora’s box of war is opened, no one can close it again.

In 2063, with the aggressive attacks of the Western Alliance, the flames of war had spread to every corner of the human interstellar map. Following the mutual declarations of war by the main member states of the two major Southeastern alliances, even those countries that had tried their best to remain neutral eventually could not escape the fate of being invaded by war.

The fleets of dozens of member countries of the two military alliances were sweeping across the void of space. Behind these fleets, giant transport ships were deploying countless mechas, infantry, tanks, self-propelled artillery, and land-based fighters onto various beautiful immigrant planets of different colors.

Every city was engaged in intense battles. On the plains, armored clusters were desperately pouring firepower at each other. Assaulting mechas repeatedly crossed the densely laid trenches, while air-based and land-based fighters dogfighted back and forth in the light web woven by missiles and energy cannons.

The once clear and blue skies were now shrouded in pervasive smoke. Dense black clouds rolled ominously. The wreckage of warships or fighters, fallen from fierce battles in outer space, turned into clusters of fireball meteors, crashing into distant mountain ranges. Huge explosive flashes occasionally swept across the land, illuminating everything brightly.

In the tacit push of the Binart Empire and the Feiyang Republic, the battles of the two camps had entered a fever pitch.

And the most tragic was Leray.

After suffering a defeat, the sharpened knife of Desic struck again. Three mixed fleets launched a fierce assault on the Little Pyrenees Star Domain of Gazalin, while four mixed fleets, along with a united fleet of the Binart Empire and the Naga Federation, cut off the Public Star System and launched an attack on the Free Star System of the Leray Central Star Domain.

Simultaneously, five mixed fleets of the Jiepeng Empire also launched an attack on the Central Star Domain.

Tian Xingjian turned off the virtual TV broadcasting war news, dazed for a moment, and opened the point-to-point communicator in his hand.

The communicator was brought by Helen. Silver in body, the size of an egg. It was a special device for the Blue Rose’s space assault team, capable of ultra-long-distance encrypted communication within ordinary constant star systems. Due to the high cost, there were only two sets on the Blue Rose.

With a lewd smile on his face, Fatty sniffed the communicator under his nose. It seemed to still carry Helen’s body scent... After all, it was taken from her intimate underwear. Most of Helen’s panic when Gandi captured her was because of this object.

Entering the password, a blue streak of light spun back and forth, and a small virtual light screen floated in front of Fatty. The first to appear on the screen was Chekov.

”Finally got in touch with you.” Chekov on the light screen obviously let out a breath, leaned back on his chair, waving a copy of Mars Daily in his hand: ”What’s going on here?”

Fatty was taken aback: ”You saw it too?”

”How could we not see it?” Next to Chekov, Audrey’s charming shadow appeared: ”The whole Free World is in an uproar! Kicking out the mech divisions of the nine major schools consecutively, you’re completely crazy. This has never happened before in the Free World. Do you know how dangerous this is?”

Fatty blinked in surprise, looking at Audrey’s flushed face, not understanding why she had such a big reaction.

Seeing Fatty’s surprised expression and the playful looks from Chekov and Barbarossa beside him, Audrey’s face turned even redder. She bit her lip in embarrassment and frustration, turned her head, and stood aside without speaking.

”What’s your plan?” Chekov looked at Fatty, knowing that this lazy guy was not one to stir up trouble without reason. Beneath his seemingly carefree and honest exterior was a shrewd and calculating mind.

From the moment Fatty stepped onto the modified warship Blue Rose, to covering the retreat of the Castle Lily, relying on precise calculations to ram through enemy ships and escape smoothly, Chekov realized that Fatty’s ability to predict and strategize was far beyond his own.

His seemingly whimsical thoughts were actually flashes of genius. Any doubts and distrust towards him had been cleared from everyone’s minds long ago, whether on the Blue Rose or at the Redbeard Pirate Base. Not to mention, the strength accumulated at the Redbeard Pirate Base was now enough to make anyone obey his every command.

Since he dared to stir up such a big commotion at Free Port, he must have had a compelling reason.

”Plan? Naturally, to make these waters as muddied as possible.” Fatty squeezed himself into the balcony lounge chair, looked at Audrey again, and smiled slightly: ”I’m not worried about my situation at all. As precarious as it may seem, it’s as stable as Mount Tai. I have the upper hand, and Kubo doesn’t dare do anything to me.”

”But what about the other factions?” Audrey, who had initially decided not to care about Fatty’s fate, couldn’t help but get anxious again.

”The other factions’ attention is on the Tai Sect.” Fatty smiled at Audrey with an ambiguous look: ”Don’t worry, they won’t do anything to me before the rules are broken.”

”Why should I care about your life!” Audrey’s face flushed even more, pouting: ”I’m worried about my ship!”

”What’s our next move?” Chekov glanced at Audrey with some headache, quickly changing the topic. At the pirate base, he could already see through it. That scoundrel Fatty never said anything proper whenever he saw Audrey, and Audrey seemed to never learn any lessons.
