Counterfeit Hero

Fatty’s voice was exceptionally clear in the silent and spacious hall of the Fighting Arena.

Kubo’s face alternated between shades of green and white. Blue veins throbbed on his bald forehead. His vicious eyes filled with blood in an instant.

No one had ever dared to insult him like this, ever!

Since he became the Level 1 Mecha Commander and took over Tai Sect, no one had dared show the slightest disrespect in front of him. Let alone such a humiliating disgrace.

Kubo had always thought that in this world where the weak are prey to the strong and only the fittest survive, he and his Tai Sect were like a pride of lions at the top of the food chain! When a group of powerful and fierce lions gathers, any Fierce Beast can only stay far away.

As for those ordinary people at the lower end of the food chain, Kubo never considered them opponents—they were merely food.

Food that could be attacked, bitten, and devoured at will!

After a full meal, perhaps they could even be used for amusement.

Everything was justifiable.

This was the cruel law of the jungle. All kindness and compassion were foolishness. This was a savage world; only flowing blood could answer all questions.

But now, a savage and powerful lion had been contemptuously urinated on by a fat white pig!

This feeling of being mocked and ridiculed drove Kubo insane. Subsequent to this was a rush of Anger that surged straight to his head.

”Hahaha!”

Kubo, his seven orifices emitting smoke, laughed angrily. He pointed fiercely at Fatty and praised, ”Good, good, truly a Hero among youth, you’ve got guts!...”

Kubo’s laughter caused the expressions of all the Phantom Stream members, including Old Smith, to change. Cosmo and Thomas even involuntarily took a step forward.

Everyone knew that Kubo was angry. In countless tales, this Tai Sect Master had sent many opponents to hell with just such laughter.

Looking at the scene, Kubo’s teeth were grinding loudly, and his cold gaze had already sentenced Fatty to death.

”Unfortunately, you won’t even…” Kubo’s voice, filled with ominous killing intent, suddenly broke off.

In front of everyone’s eyes, Fatty impatiently brushed Kubo aside, walking forward, muttering with a face full of disdain, ”I hate these pompous ass types the most, actually think they’re something... got insulted and still laughing, Hero among youth, peh, idiot.”

No one dared to believe their eyes and ears. If Fatty’s earlier mockery of Kubo had shocked everyone, now, everyone was utterly dumbfounded. Even Kubo, pushed back a step, stared blankly.

What was Fatty’s mouth made of? It’s so cruel!

Kubo stood dazed, watching Fatty walk by with his nostrils in the air.

Dead silence.

”Kill him!” Kubo’s face twitched uncontrollably, erupting in a hysterical roar, ”Kill him! Kill him!”

Amid the echoing roar in the hall, six enforcers darted toward Fatty, even Tai Sect’s Mech Knights charged. Though they were not skilled in unarmed combat, in this situation, they had no choice but to move. Kubo’s bloodshot eyes left them with no option but to act.

”Stop!” Old Smith roared. He could not watch as a young man who came to register got tragically killed right before his eyes.

The disciples of Phantom Stream also surged. This was the Griffin Knight Fighting Hall, they couldn’t stand by as the Fatty who gave them immense satisfaction fell before them... Fatty’s words expressed the sentiments of all Phantom Stream disciples, words they had dared not speak.

Roars, chaos, commands to halt all mixed together. No one heeded Old Smith’s warnings. A Tai Sect enforcer at the forefront suddenly pressed against the ground, springing upward, performing a Cloud Piercing Leg straight at Fatty’s chest.

This was the enforcer’s most prized move. A former underground boxer, he had dedicated unimaginable effort to leg training.

Kicking sandbags, kicking wooden stakes, even kicking rocks. His legs were as hard as iron rods. If this kick hit, it would kill ten out of ten, leaving no chance for survival. In countless past fights, opponents hit in key areas by this kick had only one outcome: spitting blood and dying on the ground!

Without any hesitation, Tai Sect showed their ruthless intent.

In the Free World, killing an ordinary person was absolutely not a big deal. For the merciless Tai Sect, killing this Fatty was as simple as killing a dog!

The enforcer’s foot was already at Fatty’s face. Seeing Fatty about to be mortally injured by this kick, the disciples of Phantom Stream exclaimed in horror.

In an instant of stone and fire, Fatty suddenly extended his hand.

He was like a giant bear, swinging his claw. The airborne enforcer was caught by his leg… a drag, a shake, a reverse swing. The poor enforcer, like a ragged bag, was swung around by Fatty, forming a huge windmill, and fiercely slammed onto the ground.

Once… twice… thrice.

Everyone was stunned by what had just happened.

”Damn you, trying to kill me! I’ll crush you!” In Fatty’s gnashing cursing, with each thud of flesh against the ground, everyone involuntarily shuddered.

When Fatty stopped, the enforcer, held by his leg and hanging limply, lay on the ground, bones broken unknown number of times, his head pressed deep into the marble floor, foaming blood, convulsing uncontrollably, clearly doomed.

”Oh my God!”

Amidst the exclamations of the Phantom Stream group, Fatty, who was timid and cautious just moments ago in the center of the hall, had already stormed into the surging crowd of Tai Sect like a violent wind. The entire hall plunged into chaos with his furious onslaught.

Before the echoes of the crowd’s exclamations faded, the plump figure had already met the second assailant head-on with lightning speed. Facing the assailant’s cannonball-like fist, he remained silent and defiantly threw a punch.

The collision of the two fists in mid-air sounded like muffled thunder tearing through the air. With a resounding boom and a ghastly scream, the thug’s arm, as sturdy and solid as a rock, turned into a balloon that burst— the entire arm shattered inch by inch, hanging limply, with splintered bones piercing through the muscle.

Regardless of the thug’s wretched cries, Fatty spun around and delivered a vicious Tornado Kick to the third assailant’s body. The opponent’s entire body felt as if it was cleaved by a Battle Axe. The arm intended for defense was utterly useless, snapping like a piece of ”>” shaped wood, collapsing into the similarly broken ribs.

The fourth assailant was already close to Fatty, about to land a treacherous Double Peak Piercing Ears attack. But Fatty gave him no chance. His pudgy hands flailed like mad, grabbed the thug’s arm like a chicken, dislocated it with a twist, then a chest-busting kick struck the thug’s heart.

As the fourth thug spat blood and was sent flying, crashing down on the ground far away, everyone saw his chest completely caved in.

The fifth... The sixth...

Old Smith and the three Phantom Stream elders, along with thirty disciples, were utterly stunned.

The Fatty before them was practically a humanoid killing machine. Among the Tai Sect crowd, he was like a thunderous explosion, unstoppable and dominating in every direction.

No one had ever seen such a fighting style.

Step forward with a knee strike, execute a bent-elbow strike, side kick, Tornado Kick— his entire body had transformed into a flying iron hammer. Punch, kick, clash, push— anyone who got close, broke bones and bled. The hall of the fighting arena resonated with continuous wails and screams of agony.

In a daze, this savage massacre lasted for only five minutes. Besides Kubo, who stood dumbstruck, the previously arrogant Tai Sect members who stormed into the arena now lay on the ground, writhing and groaning in pain.

Cosmo and Thomas exchanged a horrified glance.

To survive the hail of bullets, become a war hero of a nation, and accomplish earth-shattering feats amidst blood and fierce fire— how could this man be provoked by a group of thugs? He’s a Special Soldier!

Kubo deserved the bad luck. Of all the people to provoke, why mess with someone so deadly? During three years of war, who knows how much blood the hands of this seemingly chubby Leray Hero have been stained with!

At this moment, Kubo had completely lost his ability to think.

As a director of the Underground Boxing Ring, he had witnessed countless brutal fights. Over the years, arrogant strongmen slaughtered each other in front of him. Those were genuinely savage battles; they used every lethal move possible. Every punch aimed to kill. Any hesitation could result in death...

Yet he had never seen anyone like this. A chubby guy transforming his body into a wildly swinging iron hammer, agile and unimaginably powerful.

Even though he was used to deadly combats, Kubo still felt a chill at what he saw.

The dozen men rolling on the ground, groaning in pain, were almost all maimed by just one hit from Fatty. The sight of their twisted limbs and the blood on the floor showcased the incredible toughness and weight of Fatty’s fists. This wasn’t real; it was a nightmare!

Seeing Fatty walking towards him, Kubo tried to run, but his legs felt paralyzed with heaviness. His energy drained away instantly. Staring at Fatty’s naive-looking face, Kubo suddenly felt a wave of fear.

He was a Level 1 Mecha Commander and might soon become a Level 3 Mecha War God!

But there were no Mechas here. Damn Griffin Knight Fighting Hall! There wasn’t even a single Training Mecha in the hall to show off!

At the Tai Sect Headquarters hall, there were dozens of Mechas on display. Among them were new Private Mechas developed by the Tai Sect research system, as well as trophies or spoils from past matches and challenges. Every visitor to Tai Sect was awestruck by the sight of those Mechas, new or worn-out.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the Tai Sect Headquarters.

Kubo nearly grit his teeth to bits. Compared to his six black-market boxer thugs, his own fighting skills were insignificant.

What were the records of the thugs lying on the ground? At least a 30-win rate, with over twenty-five knockouts to become his bodyguards. And now, all six were simultaneously taken down. How could he win?

Fatty glared coldly at Kubo.

He hadn’t expected to meet the Tai Sect Master here.

Does this count as divine justice?

Fatty sized up Kubo, making him shiver inside.

”You have two choices,” Fatty smirked foolishly, ”Either I kill you now…”

The hall fell silent, even the painful groans on the floor seemed to fade. Everyone held their breath, listening to Fatty’s ultimatum to Kubo.

”Or…” Fatty licked his lips with a big, thick, red tongue, his face eager, ”You strip naked and let me take some nude photos.”
