Counterfeit Hero

Monroe passed out.

The drastic change from a promising Level 1 Mecha Commander to a crippled person made him regret and hate. The intense pain and humiliation directly shattered his will.

”Passed out?” Fatty squatted down and curiously poked the unconscious Monroe.

In the training ground, it was dead silent. The trainees and coaches who were provocatively following Monroe just moments ago now stood frozen in place, not daring to move an inch.

Monroe was finished just like that. His entire fall from heaven to hell was clearly displayed before everyone’s eyes. This cruel evolution made people’s hearts tremble.

From the moment Monroe’s hand was crippled, it was destined that there would no longer be a place for him in Tai Sect—an Mech Knight with both arms’ bones shattered, even if healed, could never again perform precise Mechanical Control.

No one expected that this chubby, simple-looking man, seemingly harmless, could be so terrifying.

”Passing out is fine.” Fatty patted Monroe’s cheek generously and stood up: ”Learning from mistakes isn’t bad for kids. This is my leniency, if it were someone more ruthless, hehe...”

The trainees exchanged glances and shivered involuntarily. What defines ruthless? How did this Fatty, who looked only twenty-something, grow up, and did he still have any humanity?

”Alright.” Fatty pointed at a few people: ”You, you, and you few, carry them out. No need to take them to a hospital, save the expenses, just dump them at the door.”

Looking sympathetically at Monroe and the others on the ground, now, the only thought left in everyone’s minds was: ”Absolutely, by all means, do not mess with this Fatty! This guy is even more ruthless than Monroe and Kubo!”

The named trainees had no hesitation, quickly picking up the people on the ground and walking out. They had no choice. The thunderous means demonstrated by Fatty made everyone understand—if he dared to cripple Monroe, he dared to cripple everyone there!

Puluo Branch had already undergone a power shift, now it was this Fatty, whose name they still didn’t know, calling the shots. As for what would happen once these people were dumped at the door, neither Tai Sect nor Free Port, dared to think about it.

Everything happened too quickly and suddenly. They hadn’t even had time to ponder the implications behind it—Kubo’s appointed Director had crippled his direct apprentice. Was there anything more puzzling than this? Was it Monroe who had angered Kubo, or was there some other hidden reason?

The only thing to do now was to stay as far away as possible from this impending storm!

”By the way...” Fatty suddenly reached out and stopped the trainee carrying Monroe, looking puzzled: ”What’s the name of this pretentious idiot?”

”...........”

The nearly collapsing trainee was about to speak, but Fatty made a shushing gesture.

In the silence, from the open doors of the training ground, a woman’s frightened scream echoed from the hallway outside.

Upon hearing this voice, Fatty’s face immediately changed.

As Gandi grabbed Helen’s hand abruptly, she felt as if she had been licked by a venomous snake, instantly covered in goosebumps. She cried out, ”What are you doing, let go of me!”

”Let go of you?” Gandi sneered, his triangular eyes gleaming with lecherous light: ”Weren’t you here to sign up, why are you in such a hurry to leave?”

”I’m not studying here anymore!” Helen struggled, trying to free herself from the old lech’s disgusting hand: ”How can you be like this! Let go of my hand.”

”Not studying anymore... Hehe.” Gandi tightened his grip on Helen’s hand, her angry and ashamed voice making his imagination run wild: ”Trying to mess with me isn’t easy, asking questions without signing up, do you think our Tai Sect is easy to bully? Since you don’t understand the rules, I’ll teach you how to behave today.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Gandi squinted his triangular eyes and gritted his teeth, raising his hand to slap Helen.

With a crisp ”slap” sound.

The Mechanical Armor Hall lobby fell silent.

Seeing Helen, covering her face and at a loss, the receptionist girls and a few workers and trainees couldn’t help but feel pity: ”This girl is ruined.”

Although they saw it rarely, everyone knew this was the old lecher’s usual trick. Many initially defiant girls would be dazed after a few slaps and could only let this scoundrel do as he pleased. His habit of hitting women wasn’t a secret in Puluo Branch.

”That woman became soft after a few of my slaps, letting me do anything.” This was something the old lecher had bragged about more than once.

”Humph, don’t think I didn’t see through you.” Gandi sneered, setting Helen up with a false charge: ”Trying to sneak in and steal our technical secrets, attempting to flee after I caught you!” Then, the old lecher signaled to two security thugs in the hall: ”Take her to my office; I need to interrogate her properly!”

The thugs, who had been coveting Helen, immediately pounced on her, wolfishly dragging the completely stunned girl towards the hallway. According to custom, after Gandi had his way, they too could enjoy some benefits. In Free Port, such things were not surprising.

If there’s any fault, it’s that this woman’s voice was too sweet and alluring. And that oversized casual outfit couldn’t hide her plump, rounded breasts, arousing their desires.
