Counterfeit Hero

Using pirate mercenaries to maintain peace, Fatty always thought it was a pretty good idea.

Of course, the Free World has the top scientists, the wealthiest merchants, the most desperate mercenaries and pirates, but it lacks resources to squander. This predetermines that the scattered sand of the Free World cannot resist organized national military forces.

However, for Fatty, this is not a problem. He has another identity - Colonel of the Leray Army, and also a member of the Fei Alliance!

From the very beginning, Fatty had his sights on the Fei Alliance. He believed that as long as the forces he gathered had enough value, the Fei Alliance would not be stingy with resources. They would be happy to invest a bit of risk capital in a professional group with considerable growth potential.

Now, the only thing that made Fatty nervous was time.

Before the Leray Federation completely collapsed, he had to grasp a strong enough force. In those hours in the elevator, Fatty had figured it out. This vortex, since he couldn’t escape it, he needed to have the power to stir it.

Boswell once said to him as he returned to the battlefield: ”In war, no matter how perfect the equipment, a single person cannot become an omnipotent god.”

He once cast this sentence aside. But, when he was overwhelmed by that sense of powerlessness in the face of the Leray Federation’s predicament, he realized that to end this damned war, to protect his loved ones and life, he must unite everything that can be united and seize every force that can be seized, using this power to fight those who wield the same power.

Fatty never considered himself a savior, but he would never let anyone slaughter him.

Day after day, Fatty wholeheartedly devoted himself to the work of transforming into a pirate. No matter how remote the goal, he could not give up. This was the last straw he could grasp.

No retreat!

During the day, he operated the Repair Mecha, personally leading the construction of the battleships in the dock. At night, he locked himself in his room, studying the interstellar map, the pirate power distribution map, Casper’s work logs, and blueprints overnight.

Besides the ship construction, Fatty also brought Barbarossa, asking him to elaborate on everything about the Free World. This included the Five Great Free Ports, and the Free Docks, space stations, supply bases, pirate organizations, and mercenary forces scattered across various Public Star Domains and edge routes.

And Fatty did not neglect the training of the Leray Warriors.

As a regular aviation force that has experienced three years of war, the 692 officers and soldiers on the Blue Rose had rich combat experience and ship knowledge. In space, they were braver, more obedient, and of higher quality than pirates.

But they were not pirates! What Fatty needed to do was to train these professional soldiers to become professional pirates!

The combat methods of pirates were not like those of large mixed fleets. These brave warriors were used to piloting high-speed destroyers into the enemy battleships and carrier main formations, fighting in the fleet. If they robbed like that, it would be quite amusing.

Fatty divided all the Leray Warriors into eleven squads, then scattered hundreds of pirates into nine of the combat squads, forming nine combat squadrons. After that, Fatty gathered Barbarossa and the leaders of the pirate raiding groups to start the first lecture of Pirate School.

Luring, ambushing, forming up, attacking, boarding, breaking armor, occupying, looting, kidnapping, retreating, scattering, and even distributing spoils and some Free World rules. Fatty combined a bunch of pirates who were almost driven mad by him with his own content, compiling them into teaching materials and distributing them to all students.

Once these teaching materials were distributed, they immediately became the holy bible for the Leray Warriors.

While the warriors were amazed at the richness of pirate combat techniques and cunning tactics, they didn’t know that the pirates, including Barbarossa, were shocked by the vicious content added by Fatty - this Fatty was truly a madman!

Humans are always easily infected by the atmosphere around them. Under Fatty’s leadership, the construction and training work was going full steam ahead, burning with fervor. The Leray Warriors were driven to a corner, and even the boarding students were driven to a corner.

Similarly, those pushed to a corner included a bunch of pirates and smuggling ship crew members!

The Audrey had been incorporated into the logistics system - until Fatty’s plan was completed, until it was safe enough, no one would dare to leave this base. In this mixed crowd, if anyone betrayed, this base would face annihilation!

Audrey seemed to have no objections to this. On the contrary, she was quite enthusiastic about the logistics chief position Fatty appointed. It was very much in line with her expertise. No one knew more about the goods and contraband channels in the Free World and various countries than she did.

Thus, various originally unrelated and even completely opposing groups gradually came together under Fatty’s leadership. Everyone worked day and night towards a common goal - the noise of machines and people in the dock never stopped.

The Blue Rose, along with several armed merchant ships and raider ships, had been dismantled into parts. What replaced them was the Magic Cube, becoming more complete day by day.
