Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 259: Volume 4 Chapter 35 The End of Betrayal

When the Royal Imperial Transport Ship slowly landed on the playground north of the prison cells, the five hundred neatly arranged prisoners could no longer remain calm! This golden ship with blue and white stripes was unmistakably a Royal Ship; no one other than the Gazalin Royal Family would dare use such livery!

The prisoners could not understand why those born to enjoy a life of luxury, who could have the most extravagant flying cars, the most beautiful women, and the most luxurious life, would launch a coup. However, this cognitive obstacle did not affect their ability to make judgments beneficial to themselves!

These prisoners, some sentenced to decades or even centuries of imprisonment, originally had no chance of ever leaving this prison! But suddenly, an opportunity presented itself!

The Gazalin Emperor, that high and mighty ruler who held the life and death of everyone in the Gazalin Empire in his hands, was under attack by the conspirators right next to them. Even in their wildest dreams, no one would have thought that there would come a day when the Gazalin Emperor would need their help!

What kind of opportunity was this?

An opportunity to go from certain death to receiving a pardon, or even to a life of wealth and honor, after a prison uprising!

Among the thousands of prisoners, how many would refuse such an opportunity? No one knew.

What was known was that within five minutes of Fatty presenting the plan, at least five hundred people had taken up the energy guns handed out, accepting the incitement of this so-called Mythical Army undercover agent in the prison without hesitation, ready to gamble their lives against their century-long sentences.

Betting! Whether with money or life as the stake, it was always the favorite pastime of these people!

Such an opportunity was not something that every prisoner could encounter!

Of the energy guns from the prison guards, only five hundred remained after the broken and dismantled ones were excluded. Only the strongest, fiercest, and those with the longest sentences were qualified for this chance.

No talking, no shouting, no hesitation, no retreating, no escaping! These were the constraints of this opportunity! Although every prisoner harbored doubts about those warriors dressed in green, unmarked uniforms, with hoods that only revealed their eyes, none had the chance to question them. Driven continuously by Fatty’s relentless incitement, they charged towards the Investigation Bureau’s defense line with a roar.

They first seized two lookout towers on the east and south sides, quickly eliminating the stationed soldiers Bruce had placed there. These small skirmishes boosted the prisoners’ spirits even further and gave this hastily assembled group some cooperation experience.

The Gazalin was a nation in a prolonged state of war, and every adult male without defects had to serve in the military. These prisoners were no exception; ninety percent had served, and forty percent had been on the battlefield.

As the prison army inserted themselves into the combat area between the Investigation Bureau and the fighting arena defense forces under Tian Xingjian’s command and guidance, the battle situation in the entire prison subtly changed. Five hundred men might not be decisive in a battle of thousands, but any underestimation of them would be fatal, especially when these five hundred desperados attacked from behind.

In fact, at this moment, both Bruce and Bonnie had already committed all of their forces to the previous battles. On the open grounds of the prison, soldiers from both sides fell rapidly in succession, with nowhere to hide and no fortifications, just exposed bodies and ferocious firepower. Like two boxers who never defend, the soldiers on both sides fought for victory through offense. Only when the enemy fell one by one could they survive the increasingly sparse shots.

Therefore, when the prisoners suddenly opened fire on the Investigation Bureau troops in the midst of their fierce assault, Bruce immediately found himself in trouble. His soldiers, continuously attacking in the open, couldn’t maintain their offensive momentum under such a frontal and rear assault! Watching as the central soldiers near breakthrough lost their rear support, Bruce gritted his teeth in hatred.

If the prisoners could take up arms and charge, there must be guards driving them from behind! Sure enough, Bruce quickly saw a whole squad of prison guards assembling in the distance behind the prisoners. These guards, who had been locked in the cells themselves, still ended up causing him trouble!

As for Bonnie, she exhaled in relief amidst the shock; she had almost reached her limit! With only an enhanced battalion of Army troops and a company of Mythical Mechas, plus some trembling guards, holding out against the mercenaries and Investigation Bureau’s pincer attack till now had taken all her effort.

It seemed that the Transport Ship which landed in the safe zone brought good news!

Whether it was the Mythical Army or the Miracle Army behind those prisoners and guards, this battle was over!

”Stephen, I think we have a bit of a problem!”

Stephen, who was reviewing the battle reports, suddenly looked up. His cousin, Guard Colonel and Head of the Royal Intelligence Department’s first group, Ritter, was standing in front of him with a stern expression.
